  1. hi,this probably wont make sensce but if you can help me then that would be great.i now have 9.5 ml in my band and my band holds 10ml[so i have the maximam they will give me]my problem is that i can eat chocalate, say half a family block[naughty i know]samboy chips, hard chewy lollies ect..feel full when had a big binge[with out being sick],but when i have salad and chicken or vegies ect.. i can hardly eat as much[ i should stick with the healthy option i know]i wonderd if my band has moved,a friend of mine has had hers corode into her stomach so i feel im over reacting as im worried that my band might have problems, i geuss my question is can you get down more processed foods over fresh, hope you understand what im trying to get at.im concerned as i can eat more than what i feel i should be able to eat.thankyou.p.s,i will get it xrayed if i continue to worry, its just a 6hr drive for me to see my specialist,so hope you guys can give some input:cursing:
  2. hi fanny adams, glad your getting it sorted, congrates on your weight loss chart, your going well.
  3. well done on your big decission on setting a date to be banded, just for the record[i asked my sergeon if he had ever had anyone die on him from this op and he said no,that was before i was banded]i think we all worry and stress to a degree about what could go wrong and how it affects our loved ones,i also have 3 boys,so i do understand your concerns, but honestly, you will wake up and recover and then you wont look back and you'l wonder why you got your self so worked up,i couldnt sleep in hospital[went in the night before op]cause i was stressing the worst,it didnt do me any good wondering if i was doing the right thing or not,i knew in my heart i had to,for the same reasons every one has says,my own health, been around when your kids have kids, being able to get involved with your children more without feeling like passing out,i know this was the last chance for me,i lost weight meany times, but like everyone else,i put it back on.i hope you have someone there for you to support and lean on when you have your op. gail
  4. sorry, also,if you grow it for the wedding,u can always cut it short if you dont like it,it takes months to grow it.just wanted to correct spelling mistak[how exciteing]i often press buttons to close together and then it reads wrong, sorry.
  5. my hubby likes long hair 2,i like your hair better with a bit of lenght to it,but it is harder to look arfter the longer it gets,my hair is shoulder lenght and naturaly curly, you may have more options of how you want to wear your hair on your big day if it is longer, but im sure you will look fab anyway.all the best, enjoy your wedding planning[hoe exciteing]:crying:
  6. i have to agree with renwedhope, you are at far bigger risk with putting on weight of dieing,it is scary the thought of any operation[and there are risks with all operations].maybe you could look at it that your being selfish to your children by not being fit and healthy, show your kids/teach about healthy eating and exercise,or they might find they have to go thru what your going thru now.:crying:
  7. sorry, the lapband is not a fast fix to loseing weight, your not going to have an instant restriction, and you also have to lose the weight for yourself, not your husband,i hope you lose the weight that you want to get of,but im not sure just cause ya hubbys away thtas why you put on weight, its excuses,we over eat and dont exercise enough,if you have the band id leave it there or eventually you will put it back on and then there will always be another excuse for it.all the best for the future,i have now lost over 23 kgs since july last year,it takes time and hard work, not a fast fix,you have to make it happen.:crying:
  8. im so glad your trip to the docters turned out well, and that your feeling happy and omfortable with your docter, some secretarys are hard to get along with[smile]. its great you had the confidence to say somthing, now it saves you worrying about it as well.good for you.im normaly shy when it comes to confrentation to.
  9. I HAD A SIMILARE SITUATION ON BEING TREATED BADLY AND PAYING HIGH FEES FOR NOT MUCH Fluid,MY DR ALSO NEVER LISENED TO ANY CONCERNS I HAD APPROCHED HIM ABOUT[THIS COUD HAVE BEEN BECAUSE HE DIDNT DO MY OPERATION,SO I NOW TRAVEL 550KMS TO SEE MY DR WHO DID MY OP,THE FLUID AMOUNTS ARE GREAT AND THE BEDSIDE MANNER IS FANTASTIC]I DONT KNOW WHY SOME DRS GET BIG EGO DRIVES AND TREAT PEOPLE LIKE CRAP.MONEY GOES TO THERE HEAD IM SURE OF IT.ANY WAY,IM HAPPY WHERE I AM NOW,ALLS GOING WELL.IF YOU DONT LIKE THE WAY YOUR BEING TREATED,LOOK AROUND AND FIND SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT YOU.
  10. thats great,i havent much Fluid in my band yet and am changing specialist as im not happy with the one im seeing,i still keep yo yoing,so i will keep my eyes open for when april starts, might help to motivate me yeah.....great idea.thanks heaps.
  11. hi you should keep this mini goal up for new people comming thru the site, maybe when you have gotten to march, you could do the same for april
  12. i find it sad people are so judgemental,i have lost weight meany times thru differant diets and have lost weight but never been able to keep it of,but with the lapband,i dont understand how people can say we cheat,at this stage for me,i feel no restriction yet,i have lost 20kgs,but i have really had to eat fresh and exercise the same as anyone else who may or may not have had this lapband,im really hopeing when the weight is of it stays of for good and that i can live a healthyer lifestyle.30 kgs to go to goel weight, but i try and work in 10kg goals[mini goals smile]
  13. hi chickie, been awhile since i have been on the net, great to hear you do sit ups,for some reason,i was always worried if it was o.k to try that since my op[july last year]so i will have to try and get into sit ups again.thanks.
  14. yes, arfter a long day,it does get tiering,do you have daylight savings there[how does it affect your drive to and from work]
  15. sadly to say,to belive in god thru fear dose not safe gaurd you to eternal life in heaven[read your bible]sorry, but its true, you cant take comfort in somthing you dont believe or have faith in.the only way to heaven is to accept christ and know he died on the cross so you can be forgiven, some people must be really hateing me by now im sure.i am a nice person[really]and i know you all have your view points, but thats mine, and if i have helped anyone due to that then great.
  16. religon is not just there for comfort as others have stated, its about beliveing and haveing faith,im not sure i would take on what brad said[due to if you where a commited christian, you do not get devorced and remarry, even though i am aware this does happen due to abuse/alcohole/affairs,but i dont think he worked hard enough on his marrige to jen a.]sorry,he hasnt really remarried[just liveing in sin,yes im aware other people dont see it that way,my opinion only...]
  17. that breaks your heart to read that, for them to whear a reflective sash in the first place ,must have surely said hey yeah,we are aware its dangerous, but who gives a toss,i do think its harder for kids in the bush or colder climate areas where it stays dark.thats sad kids lost there lives over it/i feel for anyones loss/and even though we say things like.....i can only imagine what your going thru,we cant really, not unless it happend to us. i might look up the net for the report on daylight savings from today tonight news and see if there story was there?they had meany good reasons why daylight savings was not a good idea..
  18. congrates on haveing the operation,i dont smoke but i know how you feel about food,i geuss its a process until you have enought fluid in for restriction[i dont feel any yet]but i know i have to make the right choices for me[regarding weight loss]hope it will get easyer once more restriction is there.goodluck
  19. yeah ,you must be so pleased[well at least when you feel recoverd anyway]time to start liveing again....well done :whoo::clap2::tea:i wish you all the best.
  20. my husbands family are nasty and judgmental,i honestly dont understand how some people can say the cruelest things and not even think twice about it[how can they say things and not think its hurtfull]it makes me upset, glad to see im not the only one with family issues though.ginaki,i hope you do so well with your band and enjoy life,i know its hard, but try not to take peoples comments to heart,we are only hurting ourself's[not them],by letting them get to us and put us down.
  21. hello, just found this site,i was banded on the 20/7/07,in geraldton by paul flanagan, all went well,i now get my fills in perth by dr watson. i finde it hard at times due to no restriction, but i just have to keep pondering on like the rest of you.glad i was able to read up on this thread.take care, gail
  22. ouch....especialy the genital ones ahhhh.i never found body piercing of any form appealing[sorry, its just me]but i dont minde normal earings for girls ect....my ears are pierced,my friend got a stud in her nose, but i personaly dont think it suits her,but thats fine, she likes it so thats the main thing, every one likes differant things.:clap2:
  23. if you are fortunate to find love, support, honesty, then what does it matter what colour you are, whats it mater fat to skinny, aussie to asian,if you have found true love then you are very very blessed in life.im very blessed to have a husband that loves me no mater what life puts our way and vice versa.
  24. was just wondering if anyone saw today tonight[news]on the dangers of daylight savings[i didnt see it sorry]was it a good case against daylight savings[smile]
