  1. If you have lost 50 or more pounds, you're supposed to get another sleep study done. You might need a lower air pressure setting, so see your sleep doctor soon.

    5 weeks out and pregnant

Have you gotten an appointment with an ob/gyn yet?

Keep us posted as to how you're doing and good luck!

Purelygraceful, what flavors of Isopure do you like? I have heard that some of them are kinda nasty and would love your opinion.

Lacking genuine support but hearing horror stories

That's why I didn't tell anyone about my bypass except my husband and my sister. I hope you find the support you need, whether it's online or through a postop support group.

    5 weeks out and pregnant

So you're 7 weeks pregnant and 5 weeks postop, okay. Get to your surgeon or ob/gyn immediately - I can't stress that enough. You will need a tremendous amount of help with this and the sooner you get it, the better!
  8. My surgeon recommended bypass for me because of my diabetes. It's been performed for more years than the other procedures.

    5 weeks out and pregnant

Get to your surgeon tomorrow! It will be extremely difficult to get sufficient nourishment for your baby and yourself, but I am sure it can be done. I'm confused as to how you can be 5 weeks pregnant and also 5 weeks postop. Did they not do a pregnancy test before surgery?
  10. You might look into a bariatric vitamin like Optisource. It's a chewable you can buy at Walgreens. These were specially recommended by my bypass team. I'm 4 weeks out and have been doing well. I hope you're better soon.
  11. Glad you're here! Losing weight was never a problem for me, but KEEPING it off sure was hard lol

    What is your goal?

I want to get a picture taken with my husband for our 20th anniversary in February. I haven't willingly taken a photo in 5 years.
  13. So sorry you had complications. I also had a complication and it took me about 3 weeks to stop thinking "why the hell did i do this". Now I'm 4 weeks out and feeling so good! I hope you find a post-op support group and/or a counselor to work with. Hopefully that will help you.

How many weeks did you take off?

I has bypass August 11 and took off 3 weeks. I probably could have gone back after 2 but I was still pretty wiped out.

    Hospital Stay

My bypass was 8/11 and they released me 8/13. Re-admitted 8/15 with acute abdominal hemorrhage and went home 8/17. No pain at all but super duper nausea. Good luck to you!
