Remember that thirst and hunger feel basically the same. I've noticed that if I've been busy and not drinking my Water like I should, I start to feel "hungry." If it's your normal meal time, go ahead and eat, but if it's outside that time, drink some Water first and see how you feel.

Quick update at post-op day 8: I'm down 10 pounds in the week since surgery. Yay! I went back to work yesterday, and the morning was kinda tough because my energy level was very low. However, upon review, I realized it was my own damn fault. I reverted to a pre-op habit of not eating Breakfast until I got to the office, so on top of the general fatigue leftover from major surgery, I added even more fatigue from going to work without Breakfast. Lesson learned.

My post-op diet plan said to return to soft foods (mashable with a fork) on day 8, but I made an executive decision to start my soft foods stage half a day early to combat that fatigue, and boy did that help a lot with the fatigue. My first soft foods meal was about 1/2 a can of chicken with about 3 or 4 tablespoons of refried Beans. I ate about 85% of that. The sensation was definitely different than the full liquids stage... not pain exactly, but more of a discomfort in the stomach. As long as I chewed thoroughly and took small bites, it wasn't bad. I'm expecting that pain/discomfort to decrease as my stomach heals (again, I'm only a 8 days post-op, so I have several weeks of healing left).

I feel about 90% back to normal today. Soreness has actually increased around the incision sites, probably because they're continuing to heal (no redness or anything to indicate an infection), but otherwise everything's going very well.

    Hi guys,
I also had my surgery on August 11th-tomorrow will be a week. I'm getting sick of cream of wheat and cream of chicken with dry powdered milk. Lol
I'll be moving into the pureed diet on the 21st this Thursday.
In the meantime I'm wondering if I can have Tomato Soup?

OMG I totally know what you mean about the wanting to eat. I'm not really hungry but I just want to chew. Can't wait until next week when I can chew on some eggs maybe some hummus.
I was sleeved on the 11th as well. Finally home, I practically had to escape lol.
Been walking around a lot and it does help. Even went to walk in Target. Took pain meds at like 7am, 6pm and gonna take once more to sleep.
Gas is definitely moving, the more I walk, still feel a lil swollen though.
My family thinks I'm overdoing it but shouldn't I be moving?
    Yay us!

Surgery 8/11 and feeling great! I'm not having any food cravings specifically, I just want to have to chew. In the hospital they have great ice but now I'm stuck with cubes. I'm happy to find this forum.

Remember friends, we must change what's between our ears before we can change our bodies.

I would add - don't be obsessed about weighing yourself every day. It will just drive you insane as you see the daily fluctuations. Once a week is plenty.

I'd add the following: Don't compare your journey to anyone else's journey. Celebrate where you are today instead of being unhappy that you haven't made it to goal yet. Talk positively and think positive when discussing your journey. You didn't get fat overnight and you won't get skinny overnight either. And, to steal from The Help: You is good. You is smart. You is important. Treat yourself that way!

I posted earlier this week to see when most stomach sleepers were able to start sleeping on their stomachs again, and last night, 5 days post op, I finally did!! Luckily I haven't been dealing with any reflux issues, and I haven't been having pain (just some very minor aches at the end of the day), so I gave it a shot...and slept like a baby, lol. I truly am amazed how fast I've bounced back from surgery! Surgery day and the day after were rough...but less than a week out I really am feeling wonderful! I'm getting the hang of my new eating and drinking habits and couldn't be happier about making this decision!

I had my sleeve surgery on August 11. I stayed two nights in Wilmington Hospital. I was discharged today with no issues. I'm In some pain, but most of it is gas pain. The majority of the discomfort and pain that I felt came from the drain lodged in my abdomen. Once that was removed, I felt almost 100% better. I can't wait to be completely pain free.

I had the worst time trying to pee in a bedpan as soon as my surgery was over. I swear I tried for like 4-5hrs. As soon as they unplugged me so I could leave recovery and go up to a room I went into a bathroom and it was sweet relief.
Finally on liquids today. Onto the 3oz part of the 4x4. Should be leaving tmrw AM.
Pain is at a 2-3, 4 at the worst. I had nausea only once. I've been walking to try to get this gas bubbly feeling out. They have me orange Jello 3x it's the worst flavor ever, that made me feel queasy. I told my parents to bring me another flavor. And I keep falling asleep and they keep taking my broth and tea lol. I've been drinking mostly Water it's fine.
Incisions don't look too bad, one was more swollen than the rest but my surgeon said it's bc that's where they stitched into muscle.
    So far so good.
Hope everyone else has a smooth surgery and recovery.
