Once I got home I used a heating pad on my back and a microwaveable heat pack around my shoulders. It helped the gas pain so much.

Day 3 is usually the worst and then things seem to change rapidly!

I didn't have to do pulmonary or sleep test. I did have to see a social worker and cardiologist. I had to have 6 months of pre-op stuff. BCBS/PPO here.

I didn't get shakes in until day 5. It's a struggle. I overdid it yesterday and have felt gassy and bloated all night. Backing off tomorrow and taking it slower. Sleeve is teaching me what to do and not do!

Hungry here too on day 7. Had some watery potato soup tonight (2 tsp) and it made such a difference. I have since been able to get n more fluids and protein.

My larger incision is right side too. They must decide when they get in there and see the anatomy.

Wonder why my doc is so strict? Nothing over 10 for 5-6 weeks

How high did your fever get? I run a low one every evening or night. I've been pushing more fluids at that time in case it's dehydration.

What soft food can you have? I'm 5 days out and can't wait for some soft stuff!

Take what they offer to help. It will get better. You can do this!

I'm right there with you! Got 10 oz of protein yesterday but not enough fluids and started to show some dehydration. Just doing fluids today and am able to handle more in an hour. Will try protein again when I get over half my fluids in. Slow and steady I guess!

I agree, what you describe are reasons listed on my discharge sheet for calling the doc. I was sleeved Monday. If I don't get a certain amount in I'm supposed to call the next morning and they will do IV therapy.

My 5 year old has been a challenge as well. I'm doing ok with liquids, but can't tolerate protein yet. What is everyone else drinking?

I agree with Chris on the position. I have to sit or stand straight up while drinking. Whenever I lie down I have pain in the sternum area.

Just read my post. Must have been after my pain med because it should have said Zofran and not Frank was my new best friend! Lol
