darstvader got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Adding protein to veggie dishes without the bulk?
    Hi All,
I was sleeved in March and have really just began enjoying veggies again. My fave is making 'fried rice' out of riced cauliflower.
I add eggs and meat to this but unfortunately it's just too light on Protein still, given that I can only eat a small amount.
I want to enjoy my veggies but it's hard because I know it should always be protein first but I don't always want to fill up on that.
Any idea what I could add as a supplement to boost that protein content? Would unflavored Protein Powder be ok or would it make the texture weird?
Your advice is MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

It scares me to see young people sucking these down on the regular with no concern. I saw two teens walking to my boys' school last week with venti fraps in hand (one was unicorn one was caramel). Breakfast of champions? I think not!!

    Hi All,
I just got sleeved on Monday along with a hiatal hernia repair. I'm in much less pain than I thought I would be so I'm very hopeful this recovery will be fast!
I lost 19lbs on my two week low carb pre op diet so I plan to continue that way of eating once I'm on solids again.
I started at 367, was 348 on surgery day and want to get down to less than 20% body fat, whatever that scale number will be.
Any tips on what I should start to do to be active when the time comes? I was thinking just walking to start with but your suggestions are welcome! Thanks

Hey! My name is Jennifer and I started my journey over a year ago. I was supposed to have the surgery in June but I didn't get to have it done then. I changed programs to Foothills Weight Loss Center with Dr. Colquitt in Knoxville, TN and I'm so glad I did. I had my surgery March 8 and I just had my one week post-op visit. I lost six pounds in six days. My surgery went seamlessly, so I'm blessed. I'm excited for the rest of this journey to unfold.

I am 30 years old and a public school teacher.

I went through a divorce in November of 2015 and that made up my mind to have this done. I have been ready for the hard work and to help build my confidence. It'll be nice to meet new people going through the same thing I am.

darstvader reacted to Valentina in OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all
Unless the hospital is sending hair to a third world country for weaving, I can't think of a single reason why one would have to shave for WLS. I didn't have to shave for childbirth, spinal surgery or a hysterectomy.
You simple HAVE to ask and then PLEASE report the reasoning back to us.
We will be right here, keeping your place warm on "The Losers' Bench".
    Bless,
    Valentina

I had a cath and I didn't shave and certainly wasn't shaved while I was out! That would've been awesome though I hate shaving! Hahah!
I find that really strange they would make you shave, I mean for god sake it's just some pubes, part that shit and stick the cath in! ????

    Hi All!
I'm getting sleeved next month. I'm beyond excited and cannot wait for the day to arrive.
Been obese all my life. Never in my 42 years have I even been in the 'overweight' category so this is something that I'm even looking forward to.
Lap band in '04 got me from 360 to 210, had it removed due to complications in 2014 and have gained sooooo much of my weight back.
I'm excited to start the journey of getting my life back and maybe, just maybe, getting to the 'overweight' category at last or even dare I say, a normal weight range.
I'm so ready for this. Thanks for making me feel like I'm not alone.

I wasn't quite 400lbs but close. I was over 380 at my biggest but I think I was closer to 400 then I thought. I was too big for my scale. I have got down to 359 for surgery. I'm 2 and a half months out and down to 305. All together 74lbs lost so far.
As a heavy weight is is a longer journey but it is completely doable. I wasn't sure I would be successful with the sleeve at first at my weight but I'm convinced I can now. There is a BMI over 50 board on OH and some of the people there started over 400 and have lost a LOT. It's very inspiring.

Five years ago I weighed 367.8 pounds at 5'3". I was terrified of surgery, terrified of life. If you want to know what the journey from terror to triumph is like, read my posts, starting from the bottom. A few are long, but there aren't a lot.
Five years out and I still fight to reach my weight goal, but my life... It's amazing.
    You can do it.

Isn't that the truth. I am just excited to be able to start something new. I have high hopes for this. I don't mind giving up old habits if it means that I can ride a roller coaster and not worry about them saying that I don't fit or getting on a plane and worrying if I am too big.
