It took me ONE night to love my CPAP I put my mask on, set alarm for work, place my head on my pillow and alarm goes off. No tossing and turning, no waking up, no night reading because I cannot sleep I do hope one day to not need it but for now it is my best friend.

    Hello fellow veterans,
Ooh. It feels good to be a veteran! Hello! Hello! Just wanted to say "hey". I've been away for a while. All is well and I am still loving the fact that I made this decision.
Hope all of you are still kicking butt.

I just bought a pair of size 27 Miss Me jeans! For those of you who were like me & didn't know about Miss Me jeans, that is nowhere near the same as my old size 22 Lane Bryant jeans!

Health issues. Looking older then my peers who didn't huff and puff after walking 20 feet. That is why I did it. Yea I worried about loose skin, always being restricted, all those things. And then I remembered or was reminded that being 250+lbs was ultimately a death sentence. And I have a very stressful high pace job, teenagers and at the time my social life was zilch. I needed to do something or something bad was around the corner.

Heck yeah!!! I had my banding May 2010. Wish I had done it 10 yrs earlier !!!! Lol. I have lost a total 157 lbs. it has been slow and steady and I still lose about 3-4 lbs a month. I love it.

May just do "a little bit" of the weights, you know instead of doing 40 lbs. for your arms do 10-15lbs. You don't want to gain muscle wait right now, so that's why cardio is so important, after surgery THEN the weights will totally help with getting more muscle and toneing the skin to where it needs to be.
    Anyway, that's my opinion!

I am dreaming about being a size 16. It has been many years since I seen that size. 22's we're getting tight, now 20's are too loose and not quite 4 months.

this is just an observation, but how much bread and cheese are you eating? Bread expands when Water is added and cheese is very binding. Would you put a piece of bread and cheese down your kitchen sink drain and add Water?
My suggestion is to go back to the basics on eating. Lean Protein and cooked veggie. Skip all the refined carbs and high fat cheese.

I'm posting tonight because I'll be working a long day tomorrow. Tomorrow is my one year surgiversary. It has been a stellar year. I've worked my ass off for every pound along with the help of my band. Getting banded was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and I certainly had doubts. Today, I went shopping and for the first time in over 15 years, I fit into a size 12.
I love my banded life. I'm about 4 pounds away from goal and now I'm learning about maintenance. It's a scary venture because I'm always afraid that I will become complacent and fall back into my old fat girl habits. I truly believe that regular exercise is the way I will keep off the weight.
To all the newbies, find a plan that works for you and stick to it! It's worth it. YOU are worth it! Don't give up. Try, try, try, every day. Eat what you want every now and then. You have to live and have fun. You CAN do it!

I love reading success stories from those who are banded a few years. I'm almost two years out and I am beyond thrilled with my success. It's still a mindset nearly every day to make good choices but with the band, it's a battle I think I can win.

Congratulations ! You look beautiful !!! I echo what you said in your post. Im 3 yrs banded this week (!!!), and while I dont have any problems eating later, and there's only a few few foods I can't eat at all ( chicken breast and raw broccoli and most noodles ) Im VERY happy with my band and my stronger , healthier body. For the newbies out there, the Band does work ! Any doubts ? Reread Lady VS' s above post, and look at her pretty picture ! Congratulations again !!!

I have 60 pounds to lose and i don't like when people tell me I'm crazy and that I'm not "that big." I know its not 100 + pounds to lose but it sure is still hard as hell to lose it. The struggle shouldn't be disregarded just because your not morbiddly obese. I've been trying to lose the weight for years and I just keep packing on the pounds. I'm sure there are a great deal of people whom wish they would have got the lap band before their weight gain hit the triple digits. I'm right with you and am planning to get the lap band next month. Good luck on your journey!
