I had that same feeling every single time I took a sip of Fluid for the first 2 weeks. Now that I'm several months out, I know that was NOT the 'full' signal. You won't really feel your restriction with fluids only, and you really need to be sipping on something pretty much the whole time you're awake to get your Protein and fluids. Fluids move very quickly through your stomach, and you will have to work to get all of what you need in during the first few weeks. Don't let that feeling stop you, my doc said it was just my pyloric valve spasming when Fluid hit it. It will ease up over the next week or so, most likely.

In my case, pre VSG, I vomited if I had gastro, together with the runs and awful nausea. This would happen hours after eating the offending food.
After VSG, I hardly had any nausea, the vomiting was immediate, followed by many hours of feeling extremely tired and headachy. Also felt dizzy, and my pulse was racing. Certain fatty foods (beef, plus hard to digest), eggs and fatty/sugary foods were the culprits for me. Apparently they were to rich and emptied too fast to the small intestine.
Most VSG sleevers don't dump, but few of us do. Thankfully, it does not happen much these days.

It isn't unheard of. Yoyo dieting seems to effect your body's natural set point where it starts going into "its a famine, slow everything down" type of mode. Try timing some Protein (25g) before and after a workout. I don't know why (and as far as I can tell no one else knows either) but certain ethnicities do better with carbs and others with Protein. It just may be some things that our ancestors had that allowed them to pass their genes forward long ago.
I have experimented enough with myself to know that I do really well when I am eating meat and a few vegies. If I throw too much fruit in the mix, I start gaining. You are in a strange netherland. If you are not already, log your food and see what combination works for you.
When you start googling this, you will start realizing "a calorie isn't really a calorie." A piece of wood has calories. But those calories can't be absorbed. Alcohol has calories, but not all are absorbed. Some people seem to more easily absorb certain calories. Hormones effect this too.
If you find some good research, please share it with the group.

I would add, if I were you and if you have one, a soft easy to latch (front if possible) bra.
I have only underwires and am a bigger chested girl.
I can not stand being out in public without a bra, but the incision lines (I also had a hernia repair) are right where my underwires rub and bras feel like barbed wire on me. If you have a soft, non underwire, bra- you may "enjoy" wearing that one home rather than underwires. I wait here in my house until my neighbors appear gone and then go for my walk. No need to scare the children!

Oh and good luck! The first 48 hours sucked for me, but 7 days out and I am feeling MUCH better. Just take one day at a time!

Im a guy...I had my sleeve at age 55 and was 348lbs. I'm now 4 months out and down 110lbs. I'm off all medications, off insulin, diabetes is in full remission, sleep apnea gone, 4x to xl in shirt size and 52 to 40 waist size. No regrets and life is great! Don't get me wrong, this is a tool and not a magic fix. I've worked very hard working out every day, walking and riding my bike. I've also followed my nutritionist eating plan to the T and not cheating with red flag foods.

In hospital on night after sleeved. Observations : super sore, have pains on top of stomach. Weird they feel like hunger pain initially but after a burp I feel better. So gas. Nausea is real. They gave me meds but eating a few ice chips makes me nauseous. Just got up and walked 2 laps. So far so good. On my way.

As my NUT said, a chocolate chip cookie will still smell and taste like a chocolate chip cookie. You need to detox your body of the refined sugars and carbs. I did it cold turkey. My motivation has been high so I've been very successful. I will have to work at it the rest of my life, so I don't fall back into those bad habits. I know for me, one bite is too much. Sweets are a read light food for me and I have to stay away from them. When the urge hits, find a hobby. Find several different hobbies. When I was thin for 10 years, I was an exercise junkie. I switched one addiction for another. When I got hurt in Afghanistan, where I couldn't workout like I used to, I gained the weight back. I didn't have another hobby to fall back on. Now when I want something sweet, I drink a Protein Shake, drink Crystal Light, go for a walk, play with my grandkids/dogs, read a magazine or book, or look at future clothes online. I also go to bed early. I have control right now and I want to keep it this way.

I got mine from Amazon. I took it to the surgery center with me (my procedure was out patient) and had the nurses put it on me when I woke up. They knew exactly what it was and seemed to approve.
I thought it really helped when up and walking around. It kept me from jiggling and hurting as much. I wore it a lot for the first two weeks, but I would take breaks. I loved having one. I slept in it most nights too. I found it soothing.
I'm almost 3 weeks out and I put it away a week ago.
