  1. Girl, welcome to my world!! I cried tonight watching frickin' Willie Wonka!!! wtf??? :crying: Fortunately, DH has been out of town most of the time since surgery or he would probably think I am nuts! Hopefully it will get better as I lose, get adjusted, etc. I just hope I don't go crazy before then! I hope it makes you feel better knowing you aren't the only one experiencing this. With over 300 of us banded in June, I'm sure there are plenty of us riding this roller coaster together. Good luck to you and feel free to email me if you want to talk.
  2. From what I have read, it's normal to gain some of it back once you get on solids again. If you are obsessive at all, it's probably best you don't know where your scale is.LOL You are probably going to the doctor pretty regularly at this point anyway, so let him keep track of it for a while. Once you hit your sweet spot and start exercising, you can get that scale back and start basking in the glory of massive weight loss!! I ordered a few exercise dvds I am going to start soon. We are going to be moving in the next couple of weeks, so after that for sure.
  3. The report I received was that it caused a slight numbing sensation, but not total numbness on him.
  4. Not that I would know either, but that stuff has a really bad taste. AndI know the point is to help with the gag reflex, but I found the total mouth numbness very disturbing. Chloraseptic works too, by the way. And the spray nozzle gives a good aim to the back of the throat.
  5. I can, but it's a LOT better if I "help out" hehehehehe
  6. Yep, the healing part is going very well and fast! I will be very ready for the fill!!
  7. DH and I have been married 9 years and have the same issue and it took it's toll on my esteem about my "skills" as well. (Hope this isn't too graphic.) The way he explained it to me is that his sensitive area ("G" spot, if you will LOL) is at the very base of his shaft. While I can "deep throat" and hit that area, I can't do it long enough to make him climax. He is just too big!! But he still enjoys receiving because of the feeling on the rest of his penis and watching me do it. So, don't let it get to you! Although I have found that it is a rare thing for a man to be unable to climax that way, some just can't and it has nothing to do with the woman doing it!
  8. This is such a trip! On the exercise ball idea...I did a little looking around on ebay not too long ago and found this love pillow thing. It's this heavy plastic inflatible wedge that allows all sorts of interesting positions without the rolling of the ball. LOTS of fun!!!

I purposely avoid the men's thread because...I'M NOT A MAN!!! Where I realize and even appreciate that they have a curiousity about what is discussed here, I don't share that curiousity when it comes to what they are talking about. To each her (or his) own I guess.
  10. When I had to use them, I had to use both, but preferred tampons over pads any day!
  11. I was banded 6/18 and can't have a fill until 8/5!! That's 7 weeks! I am going to go crazy before then.
  12. Thanks for being a "guinea pig", Puddin and for posting your results. Sorry it didn't work. Good luck getting those other 4 pounds off.
  13. Keep your protein intake where your doctor tells you to. This will help promote healing and keeping your hair on your head.
  14. The pain could also be caused by the muscle the port is attached to pulling as you move around in the water.
  15. Hi, Christine! I was also banded 6/18/08. I am on mushies now and am managing to hang under 1000 calories by some miracle. The weight is still coming off, but I am fearful that will change as I am able to eat more and am awaiting my first fill. I am hoping to be able to start exercising soon, but right now, my incisions start itching like crazy if I sweat at all!! Not a good thing living here in balmy South Carolina.
  16. Glad I won't be the only one not making goal! I am down 2 more pounds, but still not close. See you all on the Labor Day thread! 17. Thanks! I assume everything went well and uneventful for you too? Your weightloss is really moving along nicely. Woo Hoo!! Keep it up!!
  18. Hey Randall! I was really very fortunate that I didn't have any complications. None of the dreaded gas pain or anything like that. I was on the pediatric floor (all of the Bariatric beds were full between surgeries on the day of mine and the next and I could fit in a regular bed comfortably, so they put me in one), so I couldn't get up and walk the halls very much, but on the plus side, had a bigger room and could move around in there just fine. One thing I would suggest though - try to use the bathroom before your pain shots! I know I couldn't get out of bad when they gave me the first shot, so that wasn't an option then. But the pain shots go on a 4 hour rotation if you don't have a pain pump, so by the next one, I was ok. Only I waited until after I had it and then couldn't go! I ended up getting cathed twice before they figured out maybe I should go before the drugs and then everyting was ok! Also, beware hospital food! Once I was able to order a tray the day after surgery, the "broth" they sent me was so greasy it literally made me sick! And dilute your juice. The nurse brought me apple juice with my liquid meds and it was too sweet. I diluted it half and half with water and it was ok. Also, try not to get discouraged if the weight stops coming off for a couple of days. It will pick back up. Remember, that is likely to happen as you move through your stages of eating post-op. Your body has to adjust and it may take a day or two. Try not to let it discourage you, as hard as that can be! Good luck!!
  19. I'm not going to use that argument with them. I am trying to convince them that if someone wants the coverage and is willing to pay for it, it should be offered.
  20. Great news! Congratulations!!
  21. They sell them on the coffee aisle in most grocery stores, but I also found them at WalMart. I got a Kahlua flavored that I mix with vanilla and chocolate and it really takes care of those coffee cravings. Just make sure you get sugar free ones!
  22. Down another 4 pounds, 1/3 of the way there! Still don't see actually making my goal in a little over a week, but at this point, I don't really care! 23. That is one of our arguments. Unfortunately, a LOT of employers are taking the view that most people change jobs so frequently these days, by the time health conditions start becoming an issue, the employees will have moved on. It really sucks!
  24. Congratulations!! It won't be long now!!!
  25. 3 more pounds down since surgery! Doesn't look like I will make my goal in the next 2 weeks, but I think I may have been a little over ambitous.LOL Name..............Current.....Goal.....Lost...Still to Lose by July 4th atallen06...........231........215.......0......16 Bea1129.............231........200.......9......22 BigBandFan..........296........270.......0......26 Cgailee ............219........200.......0......19 darr5380............170........165.......0.......5 Epm316..............218........200.......12.....18 erikadawn...........207........190.......0......17 faithmd.............297........300.......12.4...-3(by6/21) Hastings............248........228.......5......20 Jennypoo............174.5......170.......4.5....4.5 jrob281.............212........190.......0......22 KarenG..............168........160.......6......8 kathystrick.........312........288.......6......24 kellygirl0520.......236........220.......0......16 legster.............188........180.......9......8 Lenore1890..........263.4......247.......4.3....15.7 Leslie2Lose.........225........208.......8......17 LessNLess...........147........140.......4.......7 Lilmissband-aid.....242........239.......0.......3.4 losingjusme.........244........238.......6.......6(started 5/30) Luu2008.............215........185.......0......30 luvinke.............217........190.......11......14 Marissa's Mom.......388........358.......20.4...30 MollyMolly..........185........188.......19......-3 nancy52.............197........170.......0......27 Nettie..............193........170.......0......23 Newhope4me..........168.8......160.......8.2.... 8.8 njudono............ 298........277...... 5......21 NukeChik............227........222.......15......5 nurse7263...........244........150.......0......24 renewedhope.........180........180.......16......0 Sades...............194........185.......3.......9 Stacy73.............212........204.......0.......8 Sunshine2...........179........160.......4......15 (by6/29) Suzzzie. ...........273........260.......0......13 Tess415.............314........299.......13......15 TexasFire67.........170........145.......0......25 Wombat712...........128.2......120.......6......8.2 Bunkey1965................215.............205..........10..........10
