  1. OK, but I have to take issue with seeing all these hair band rockers on TV now and they are still wearing the eyeliner. Time to give it up, for sure.
  2. This list just keeps growing! It really would be interesting to know what is the most people ever banded in one month. This group would have to come close to being it I would think!
  3. That's the one I bought in bulk too. I have only bought the vanilla, but I like it. It has no after taste. I am going to try the chocolate too. Have you cracked yours open yet? I ordered the samples for so I can add some variety to my liquid diet, but don't see them as a long-range thing because it can get costly. I ordered 9 samples and it was like $20!
  4. Hi and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on the decision to get your band. Hope everything works out for you and you are banded soon!
  5. I am Kathy and I live in South Carolina. I am the Computer Lab Manager at a high school and part-time reference librarian at our county library. I have been married to my 2nd husband for 9 years and I have 1 son who will be 18 on June 10th. I am so excited about having surgery and where I will be by this time next year!! I am so ready for the 18th to get here!!!
  6. Hi, Melissa, and welcome to the site! How did your psych eval go today?
  7. Congratulations to you and your family. What a great story!
  8. I am only 5 years older and wish I had been able to do it sooner too! I am only 1 day behind you, Gina, but I don't have to do a full liquid diet. Good luck and I will be thinking about you on the 17th as I make my preparations for the 18th!
  9. I have already bought my adult strength liquid Tylenol and found it fairly easily. Walgreens and CVS both had it for about $7 for a pretty good sized bottle.
  10. Hi Trudi and welcome to LBT! Almost all of us here have felt the same way you do at one point or another on our journey towards being banded. The fear of failure is only natural because we have all failed so many times with traditional dieting attempts. The difference this time is that you are going to have the benefit of a wonderful tool in the Lap Band that will make it very difficult to fail. Look around these boards and you will find loads of support and motivation. Be sure to check out the before and after pictures. They are a great source of inspiration. Good luck to you!
  11. Hi, David and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on getting your band and on your great start with the weightloss. You are off to an excellent start! I am still pre-op for another 3 weeks, so I can't answer your question about that icky feeling, but I do hope you get to feeling better soon!
  12. Woo Hoo!!! Congratulations! Welcome to the Jazzy Junes!!!!
  13. As my date gets closer, I am getting more afraid that my marriage may be one of those that doesn't make it. It seems like everyday it is something new with my husband that keeps me womdering if he even wants to be here. That is really not putting me in a very good frame of mind to be going into surgery with. Not to mention what it is doing to my dieting efforts! If he wants to leave, I wish he would just do it. I am not a cheater and never would, but don't want to spend the rest of my life miserable either. I am putting way to much effort into making me happy with myself to let someone else make me unhappy.
  14. Shaz! Tomorrow is the big day! How are you feeling?
  15. Ok Tonja. 4 days after surgery and you should be home by now. How are you feeling??
  16. You have done great if you have been sticking to that liquid diet for week already. In a way, I am so glad I didn't have to do full liquid pre-op. But then again, I think in a way it would be easier knowing I couldn't have ANY solids than trying to limit the solids I do eat. You are right -we can be as successful as we want to be. This will not be like anything we have done to lose weight before. SUCCESS is the ONLY option!!! Thanks for your pep talk!
  17. Isn't it funny how there are hundreds of people who post success stories here everyday, but those few who haven't been as successful are the ones who stick out in your mind as your date draws closer? You are definitely not alone in your fears of adding to those stories. I have all of these dreams of things I want to do as the "thin me", but fear I may never get to. 3 weeks and 1 day until surgery for me!
  18. I have to do the low carb, high protein diet too, but don't start until 6/4. I have been trying to start early so I might show a little weightloss when I go for pre-op, but no luck in sticking to it for me either. I don't know how people who do all liquids for 2 weeks make it! Just hang in there and try to do better everyday. Don't beat yourself up because there is nothing you can do about what you have already done now. You can do this!!!!! Hang in there!
  19. Hey, Shelley! How are you doing? Getting nervous? I will be thinking about you on Wednesday. Post as soon as you feel up to it. And good luck at the interview tomorrow!
  20. After my first post on the boards everyday, I look at my ticker and watch the countdown move closeer and closer to my date. That gets me excited everyday. I am still nervous that I may be one of those failure stories, but I am praying not and really getting psyched about surgery. A little over 3 weeks now!!
  21. I know! What are the chances with over 110 people being banded in one month that I would be the only one with that date? I am getting a bit nervous. I have had surgery in the past, but don't think I am actually nervous about the surgery itself. The fear of failure, even with this great tool, is very real to me. I am excited about the thought of actually being my "real" self again, but what if I can't do it? Then all of this will have been for nothing.
  22. Good for you for deciding to quit! I know it isn't easy, so I wish you luck. You can do it!!
  23. I know! Isn't that strange, especially when some days have so many people? The 18th is on a Wednesday though, so maybe a lot of doctors don't do surgery in the middle of the week or something, I don't know. And Rhonda is on Friday, so that could definitely be the case for her. I know my doc won't do surgery on Friday. Maybe we'll get some company soon.:cool2:
  24. So sorry to hear that! The suggestion of the other responder is a good idea, or you could see if your surgeon has a list of GP he knows are WLS friendly. Keep us posted!
