  1. Hi Sue and welcome to LBT! Good luck getting your approval and be sure to keep us posted on your progress!
  2. I would check with your doctor. Mine said no NSAIDS, that's why only Tylenol. Yours may feel differently about that. Hope you feel better soon!
  3. Congratulations!! I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!
  4. How did it go, Holly?
  5. Congratulations! I just got approval through BCBS too! Let us know when your surgery is!
  6. Congratulations on getting your date! Keep calling that clinic! The squeaky wheel gets the grease!! Good luck!
  7. Why do you think your docotr would not let you do the band?
  8. Hi and welcome to LBT! You have taken some very important steps towards making yourself happy again, just by realizing you need help and taking the steps to get it. After you take the Cymbalta a couple of weeks, if you aren't feeling any better, call your doctor and get on something else! I went through 3 different prescriptions before I found an antidepressant that made me feel better (and didn't make me fart :biggrin:). I also had to have extensive dental work done because I did the same as you. I had forgotten how good it feels to smile.:biggrin2: But you will smile again, I promise. We were all scared at some point during this process, but eventually you reach a day where you are more excited at the progress you are making than scared of what it takes to get there. You have 2 children who depend on you and I know you want to be there for them. Take your focus off of the things that have already happened and focus on where you want to be and what you want to happen in the future. Good luck to you! Let us know how you progress. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}
  9. So sorry that happened! I know you are disappointed, but don't give up. Keep talking to doctors and work together to find a solution. Good luck to you and keep us posted on how things progress.
  10. Congratulaions and thanks for sharing!
  11. I agree with what everyone else has said. At the very least, the HR person you spoke with was unethical. I would definitely lodge a complaint against her. I know it's hard when you are "outed" before you are ready to be. It happened to me here at work as well and I was hurt, then furious because someone thought so little of my privacy that she talked about my impending surgery to anyone who would listen! Now the way I deal with it is I just don't talk about it at work EVER. Good luck and keep your chin up!
  12. I think you should feel comfortable with everyone you deal with through this process, especially at the doctor's office. You will be having a LOT of contact with those people and if you are going to get stressed everytime you have to go to the office, I can see where that could be mentally detrimental and effect your weight loss. I would start checking into the other program. Good luck and let us know how things go!
  13. When I was in middle school and had to ride the bus, there was a group of boys on there who called me "Big Momma" and would poke me in the behind with straight pins to see if I could feel it through my fat. My ex-boyfriend once told me I was a pretty girl, but if I would lose some weight, I would be a damn good-looking girl. So I did - after we broke up! My son told me once when he was younger (he's almost 18 now) that he was glad I was fat because when he was sick, I was nice and comfy to lay on and snuggle with. If I was skinny, it would be like lying on an army cot! Somehow, I couldn't be offended by that reasoning!
  14. Sounds like things are moving along pretty well for you! Congratulations and good luck!
  15. MsTrina, you crack me up! I can just hear you going off on all the haters in your office telling them about their attempted sabotage. Good for you!! Before you know it, your surgery will be over with and you will be on your way to your new sexy, sassy self! Stay strong!!!
  16. Hi and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on your band. Hope you continue to do well!
  17. How did things go for you today?
  18. Hi and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on your date and good luck!
  19. I was reading about this on another site earler and there also seems to be a problem with getting doctors to take Medicaid patients for surgery. The article I was reading said that Medicaid reimburses at a much lower rate than private insurance or self-pay, so many have become hesitant about taking it.
  20. I don't have a date yet, but I do ahve my approval, so I am hoping for June!
  21. That is just waaaayyyyy too much hair, even for the 80's.
  22. Hi and welcome to LBT! Good luck starting the process and hope it all goes well for you!
  23. Hi and welcome to LBT! I didn't see my PCP first either. I did see him later due to a shoulder injury and mentioned to him that the surgeon might be requesting a letter from him, but that was about it. He had put me on Phenteramine last year, so he obviously agreed I needed help and said he would write a letter if they requested it, but turned out my insurance didn't require it.
  24. Hi and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on your approval. It won't be long now! Good luck!
  25. At the high school level, I am allowed to help the kids out if they are having problems with putting together their work, so I will proofread and help them format when time allows. I have been known to just give them their papers back if I can't understand what they are trying to say because the grammer is so poor. I would have to practically rewrite an entire paper sometimes to have it make any sense. A lady came into the library where I work part-time asking for help with a paper she was writing. Every sentence on every page was in quotation marks with one footnote at the bottom of every page!! The entire paper was plagerized! She didn't see wnything wrong with it because she put everything in quotes and had footnotes! This was for a college level course! She could not understand why this format was not acceptable. So here comes a quick lesson in English 101, but she still didn't get it. She finally just took the paper and left. Don't know if she ever did any revisions...
