Hello from Kentucky

Hi everyone, my name is Holly I've lurked for a couple weeks. Yesterday I met with Dr. Moon with Advanced Bariatrics Center. Seems like it went well. I've done a lot of research and had a lot of the leg work done also going in. My only fear is my insurance- I'm 5'7 and just shy of 240. I had lost 58 pounds on Weight Watchers 3 years ago, but when you stop counting points the scale starts counting for you--I don't want to count points the rest of my life! I have Hypertension, and a some other issues so he feels I should be able to get approved. If not in a another 6 months or so my BMI will be over 40. I've had 3 doctors tell me I won't see my son turn 18 if I don't get control. So I'm 40 June 29th and my Mid Life Crisis is not getting that little red convertable----it's saving my own life! So wish me luck!

Thank you for the welcome--I'm very excited for this process! I was and still am worried about getting approved because I'm not at 40 BMI yet, however I found out last night having Facet Arthropaty and Degenerative Disc Disease will actually help me get approved. I was prepared to have back surgery in about 5 years and to have a hernia repaired for the 3 time next fall. (not to metion will help heart conditions)Come to find out having this procedure could elimate the need for both! I'm so excited--my friend had it done before the holidays. He said the hardest thing he had to give up was pop. So I gave it up a month ago just to get that step over with. I figure beating it one challange at a time will be easier than trying to give everything up cold turkey.
