  1. I am still pre-op, so I don't know if fills hurt. I have read that doctors do suggest you go back on liquids for a few days following fills, then back to mushies and then solids, just like post-op. Check with your doctor at the time of your fill and see what he says.
  2. Congratulations on your decisions to get banded! I hope surgery goes well for you Monday. Post and let us know how you are doing as soon as you feel up to it.
  3. Hi and welcome to LBT. Happy Birthday!!! Good luck getting your approval.
  4. Congratulations on the 50 pounds!!! Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I believe it was posted previously that the conference was in Dallas.
  6. Congratulations on your approval!! I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!! Be sure to let us know when they set your date.
  7. Hi Leigh! Welcome to LBT! How did you like the Emotional First Aid Kit book? I considered ordering that one, but my surgeon's office recommended a couple of others, so I bought them instead. Your surgery date is coming fast. Good luck!
  8. Hi Nancy and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on your band. Sounds like you are doing great!
  9. Hi Amy and welcome to LBT! Here's wishing you a speedy approval!
  10. Do your research, talk to your doctor and surgeon, ask lots of questions and make a decision about your health and your future together. If they strongly suggest one surgery over the other, ask them why they feel that way. Educate yourself as much as you can. That is very important to making this decision. Also, the port will only be in place as long as the band is. If, for some reason, you one day have the band removed, port and all will come out with it.
  11. Hi and welcoem to LBT! Hope that fill does the trick for you and you can start feeling successful. Good luck! Also, banders don't suffer from dumping syndrome. That is associated with RNY. Banders PB (productive burp) and slime, but thankfully, no dumping!
  12. Also, not all doctors require a full liquid pre-op diet. Be sure to check with your surgeon about their requirements.
  13. Hi and welcome to LBT! When are you scheduled for your fill?
  14. Hi Sarah and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on getting your band. Glad you are doing so well. How is the weightloss going?
  15. First of all, I would find out exactly why he wants you to take the Byetta. Do you have diabetes or is it strictly for weightloss? If he is suggesting you take it strictly for weightloss, I would ask him first, why he thinks drugs are a better tool than surgery and second, how he suggests you keep the weight off that you lose once you come off the medication. Let us know how it goes.
  16. Aw, how could you NOT share your pudding after that?? How sweet!
  17. I think the questions that bother me the most are the ones that could easily be answered simply by reading the FAQ threads. I can honestly say I don't think I posted any "stupid questions" when I first began posting here and was considered a "newbie". I waited on someone else to do it.:smile2:
  18. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to check them out!
  19. You made me realize something by sharing your story, Fanny Adams. My husband has never been overweight until the doctor told him last month that he needed to lose about 20 pounds (he weighed a whopping 180 on his 5'8" frame :smile2:). We have sat down to dinner before and I have looked at his plate and actually been offended because his portion was so much smaller than mine, I thought he must not like what I had fixed. But that isn't it at all. He has never been overweight because he doesn't gorge himself at every meal by taking such huge portions! Maybe I will get him to start fixing my plate at supper and see if that helps. And for the record, he gave up soda and has lost 16 of those 20 pounds already! :tongue2:
  20. Thankfully, we don't have a majority of the restaurants around here or I would probably be even more overweight than I already am!
  21. Check out this thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/lap-band-food-stages-lists-suggestions-3995/
  22. How are you feeling Janette? I hope everything goes ok with your pre-op tomorrow. Let us know as soon as you can and good luck!
  23. Congratulations!! I am so happy for you! Good luck!!
  24. Good luck making your decision. This is definitely a great place for information and if you can't find what you're lokoing for, you can always just ask! Welcome!
