  1. Definitely call and ask for a copy of their policy on WLS. Some companies have it on their website, others don't. Mine didn't have it on the member services site, but on a different one. Try not to get too frustrated. It's only a matter of time now! Good luck!
  2. What a bummer! Glad you made it through and thanks for sharing. You may have saved some of us from suffering the same fate.
  3. Congratulations and good luck to all of you having surgery this week! There sure seems to be a bunch of you! Post and let us know how youa re doing as soon as you feel up to it!
  4. Congratulations! Glad things are moving along for you. Keep us posted on your progress. You'll have a surgery date before you know it!
  5. Glad you got through it! When do you go back for the finish?
  6. Congratulations on getting your date! It will be here before you know it!
  7. My surgeon will not do surgery on you if you don't quit smoking. No exceptions, no excuses. They mention it at seminar and address address it on an individual basis at your first appointment. Glad I'm not a smoker! I'm giving up enough vices already!!
  8. There is a 12 steps thread in the support section that you might want to check out.
  9. Sorry you had to go through this, but glad things turned out ok for you! Is everything going well now?
  10. My husband was traveling to Beaufort to work for a while. He's driving to Charlotte now. Are you having surgery in Charleston?
  11. I haven't seen them in person, just in a couple of drugstore ads Sunday. They look like disolvable strips. That would really be a great alternative to chewables! Susan, I want to think they were in the Walgreens and CVS ads. If we have them here in BFE, you should definitely be able to find them in Florida!
  12. My policy didn't require a 6 month supervised diet, so it all depends on your plan. Better call and get a copy from the insurance company.
  13. Your surgeon's office should also be able to give you information on this. Let them help you all they can. You are paying them, afterall. They jump through these hoops everyday, so they are a valuable resource. Good luck!
  14. Hi Sandi! Welcome to LBT! Good luck with your approval. I have seen quite a few people here with UHC, so you should be able to find the answer to your question and probably loads of other info as well. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
  15. So sorry this happened to you! Thank heaven for good friends! Please let us know what the doctor's office says once you talk to them. I would be interested to see if they will accept responsibility for the miscommunication or if they somehow try to blame you and your friend. Don't let this discourage you! You definitely have the strength to be successful banded. You just need a little more cooperation from your doctor's staff! Good luck to you!
  16. Hi and welcome to LBT! I'm sorry it is going to take you so long to get through the insurance hoops. At least you found all that out ahead of time instead of submitting for approval and being denied because you hadn't done everything! Use that time to get your mind straight and start adjusting your eating habits so it won't be such a shock once you have surgery. Good luck and let us know if you have any questions!
  17. Hia nd welcome to LBT. Congratulations on your approval. What a great way to celebrate turning 40! Good luck with your pre-op testing and please keep us posted on your progress.
  18. Hi and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on your speedy approval. Post as soon as you feel up to it after surgery and let us knwo how you are doing. Good luck!
  19. Sounds interesting indeed!
  20. Hi and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on your decision to get the band. Have you done any pre-op testing yet? Good luck with that approval!!
  21. It's natural, and I must say, something I am not looking forward to at all. From what I have read, it does get better though. Good luck and hope you get to feeling better soon!
  22. I have Anthem and it does day 35 with 2 or more co-morbidities, but it wouldn't hurt to call and get a copy of your policy jsut to be sure. Every plan is different. Good luck!
  23. Hope you get to feeling better soon and sorry you have had so many complications. Thanks for posting the updates though. Take care of yourself!!
  24. Congratulations! What great news!! Glad you are feeling better today. Good luck to you!
