I called the nurse of the doctor that is approved by my insurance provider. Well she told me all the steps I would have to go through it get the surgery. There is a class I can take before my referral is put through around the end of this month. I would have to take the class anyway but she said that it's free to all and it would count towards my requirements. I would have my consultation with the doctor, meeting with the nutritionist, fitness physiologist, psychologist, also another informational meeting that would just be one on one. I'm excited about it. I wish I could get an earlier appointment with my doctor but there are non available. Can you tell I'm anxious? I told one of my friends about my decision and she even said she's going to look into it for herself.

My husband was traveling to Beaufort to work for a while. He's driving to Charlotte now. Are you having surgery in Charleston?

I don't think so. There is a doctor here in Beaufort that does it. I spoke to his nurse and she said he used to only do Gastric Bypass but he's starting to do Lap Bands also. He'll start in June. I'm hoping that I can get in with him because I wouldn't have to travel far from my home.

REFERRAL IS IN!!!

My PCM's nurse called me to tell me that my referral was submitted yesterday and I should receive a letter within a week. I'm going to call the insurance company tonight to see what the status is. Even though it takes a week for the letter you can be approved within 1-2 days. I'm so excited right now. I can't wait until I get the letter.
