Starting the research & Introduction

Good morning... I'm just starting to research the Lapband. I've been reading this forum for a few days and thought I'd just say Hi... :) I am going to attend a seminar in Reno in the next few weeks... I'm hoping that if I get approved by insurance that I can have the surgery in Reno rather than Sacramento...

Is attending the seminar the first step or should I see my primary physician first?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome. Good luck with everything!

I didn't see my Primary first, or ever actually throughout the process. I think the seminar is a great place to start! :)

Hi and welcome to LBT!

I didn't see my PCP first either. I did see him later due to a shoulder injury and mentioned to him that the surgeon might be requesting a letter from him, but that was about it. He had put me on Phenteramine last year, so he obviously agreed I needed help and said he would write a letter if they requested it, but turned out my insurance didn't require it.
