  1. Congratulations and good luck! Post as soon as you feel up to it after surgery. Sorry, I don't know about the candy!
  2. This is what I am afraid of when it's time for my pre-op diet. WHen I first went in for my consultation the PA said they were doing a high-protein, low-carb pre-op diet at that time, but thinking of changing it to liquid. I hope not!!!
  3. Sorry you have had so many issues. Good for you for realizing you need the help! Good luck dealing with your insurance and keep us posted on your progress!
  4. Hi and welcoem to LBT! Congratulations on your date. It will be here before you know it. Good luck!
  5. Hi and welcome to LBT! These boards are a great source of information and support. Good luck to you!
  6. Congratulations! How great that must feel. YOu are diong a great job and are a real inspiration. Keep it up!
  7. Good luck to both of you! Post to let us know how you're doing as soon as you feel up to it.
  8. Hi and welcome to LBT. Congratulations on getting your date. Glad things went so easily for you. Hopefully the rest of the process will be just as easy and painless. Good luck!
  9. Hi and welcome to LBT! We have all failed at previous diet attempts, so you are far from being alone in that boat. Fortunately, we now have the tool of the band to help us be successful where we have never been able to before. Good luck to you! I see you have quite a bit of pre-op stuff going on this week. Let us know how that goes.
  10. Has anyone tried these? I have tried the soft chews and wasn't too carzy about those, but saw an ad for the glides in calcium and multi-vitamin versions and was wondering if the are any better.
  11. Hi and welcome to LBT! This is the link to a ticker tutorial: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f5/ticker-tutorial-pictures-41782/ Good luck and let us know how things go at the seminar!
  12. So sorry you are having to have your surgery postponed. I know it must be discouraging, but try to keep your chin up and be as positive as possible. You have been making good progress and there is no need to set yourself back now because of this. Keep eating your protein, which well help with your healing and taking thos antibiotics. You will be back in line for surgery before you know it!
  13. I hope it turns out to be nothing, but definitely better safe than sorry. Good luck and let us know as soon as you do!
  14. Congratulations on doing so well post-op! How have things gone in the 5 days since this post Daisy May?
  15. I would bet both. Talk to your doctor about how you are feeling and he can probably help you through it. You have done a great job losing 32 pounds so far! Don't lose faith in your tool now or let your head get the best of you! We all go through our ups and downs in this process. It's natural and does get better eventaully from what I have read.
  16. I think you would have to get approval to use your card in another state. It has been years since I was on Medicaid, so not positive. Also, I have heard that it is hard to find doctors who will take Medicaid because the government reimburses at such a lower rate than they can collect from private insurance or private pay. I'm sure there are some out there somewhere, but you may have to do some looking. Good luck!
  17. Congratulations on getting things started! Anything you can get done before that seminar will put you that much closer to being ready for surgery. Good luck! Where are you from in SC? I am from Sumter and having surgery in Columbia.
  18. I ordered a bunch of samples from Vitalady.com about 2 months ago to find something I like before I have to rely on them too heavily. A couple were great, but some were just downright gross! There was a strawberry and cherry that I really liked, but the same brand in green apple reminded me of vomit. (graphic, sorry!) Capuccino was good, but chocolate coconut candy bar got VERY thick and really couldn't even be considered a liquid. I think I am going to stick with samples rather than ordering bulk of any one flavor because I am afraid I would get tired of drinking the same thing a lot and can't afford to order several different ones in bulk.
  19. I don't have a date yet, but do have approval and am anticipating surgery in June. I have to admit, I am a bit nervous. Once again I am dealing with my fear of failure, which I thought was gone. I'm sure that is probably at least partially because I had been dieting, lost 10 pounds, then just completely caved about 2 weeks ago. I am trying to get back on track, but it isn't as easy as it was the first time. I will have to do a two week high-protein, low carb diet pre-op amd some blood work. Good luck to you!
  20. Yep, that definitely looks like it might be starting to get infected. I would have it looked at for sure. Hope it turns out to be nothing!
  21. I tend to have low iron anyway, so am already on a multi-vitamin with iron daily. Hopefully, that will be enough after surgery.
  22. Welcome to LBT and congratutions on you surgery date! Look around on the site and you will find just about any information you could need. Good luck!!
  23. Tell the truth. Write down every little thing you put in your mouth. Then, once you send in the journal, continue keeping one on your own and start trying to change your eating habits. Even if you have setbacks on ocasion, write everything down. Be able to show that you are committed to making the changes necessary to be successful to the band. Prove to the doctor and yourself that you can do this if you set your mind to it. Good luck!!

Sounds like you are really doing well. Keep it up and good luck!
  25. So, I was doing good, tracking my protein, calories, and carbs, eating good stuff, getting in lots of fruits and veggies. I actually lost about 10 pounds! Then BOOM! it was all over. I am feeling hungry all the time, eating just about anything I want, not getting my water in. I know the hunger is probably due at least in part to increased sugar intake.:rolleyes2: I am eating like a mad woman!!! :blushing: And worse even, I am sneaking to do it! I stop by and buy food when I am alone in the car and eat it between home and work. Or I will buy a soda and drink it like I have been stranded in the desert or something! Candy bars at the grocery store that I eat on the way home. I have lost my mind!!! I was so proud of myself for doing so well and not even banded yet, but I am blowing it all out of the water now. The doctor even commented on how well I was doing and now I am afraid when I go for my pre-op visit I will have regained some of what I had lost and be ashamed all over again! :tt2: I was so committed to this change and what it would mean for my life and now, I still am in my heart, but my head just isn't cooperating. What is wrong with me?:confused2:
