    Tomorrow Is The Day

Congrats and good luck! Wish you a fast and speedy recovery. Just want to say get ready for the most amazingly painful ride of your life! And i say painful because of how hard we must work after surgery to achieve those goals we want. Our band is just a tool not a magic wand. Im 3 years out of surgery and i still struggle somedays but its an amazing journey for me and i would NOT change it for the world. Once again good luck sending you well wishes

Help Me Get "back On The Horse" Please!

Congrats on the babies!! Remember the 30-30-30 rule? No drinking 30 mins before 30 mins after and should take u about half hour to eat your meal.NO DRINKING DURING MEALS! This causes your food to pass fast threw the band taking more food to get that full feeling. You should also be eating about a cup of food at a time. Count calories! And measure your food portions. I use my firnesspal sometimes you arent aware of how much you intake a day when you see it it makes a difference. Everyone is different aim for 60-90 grams of Protein a day Start off with 3 meals a day and 2 Snacks drinks lots and lots of Water during the day but remember the 30-30-30 rule! Stay away from empty calorie drinks they add up quick. Exercise half hour a day atleast. My fitness pal tells me i need to burn 3500 calories a week to lose 2 pounds. Finally dont get discouraged and just keep going full force forward. I gained 35 of the 40 pound i lost after i became pregnant after 2 years of no fills i had my first one in april of this year and i have lost 36 pounds since april. Im at 5.75 in a 10cc band and i have another fill coming up in august. Keep your head up and good luck.

    Weight Loss At A Hault

I am 3 years out and i find that right before i drop 5-6 pounds i gain a pound or two THEN drop the 5-6 pounds. Please keep in mind that you are only 2 weeks post op and this is your period of healing take it as just that! If you drop weight fabulous if u dont dont beat yourself up over it!

    Scary Accident

Yess i totally feel like with the lap band you have to be aware of how much u intake liquid wise its very easy to forget how much water or liquids your drinking when you feel full and no desire to drink anything. I believe you probably should be drinking 8-10cups a day atleast. more if your out in the heat. Thank heavens for your safety glad you all are okay!

    I Keep Cheating!!!

All the above poster i agree with. Believe it or not this is the easy part. It does get harder after surgery you will need to depend ALOT on will power and the ability to say NO. You have traveled so far down this path your almost to the next stage keep going take it one day at a time tho. This is your surgery you have earned it make it work for you take advantage of this pre op diet to see what awaits you when you become banded if you cheat keep track of what you ate how much and why u ate what u did. Good luck!!

    Still On The Fence....

i love my band and would get it done all over again if i ever had to. One of the reasons why i love the band is because you can restart weightloss where as with gastric bypass if you regain weight or strech out your smaller stomach you would need a new bypass surgery or another type of surgery to correct that.i have had my band for 3 years and am happy to say i havent had the slighest issue. it was even pregnant friendly with out needing a unfill. I gained 35 of the 40 i had lost before pregnancy and as of today i am below my lowest weight after surgery and pre baby weight. whatever choice you decide to go with it will be good for you either way. All surgeries have potential complications . Good luck to you!

    Made It Through Surgery Today

First of all congrats on being banded! Get ready to enjoy the long and crazy ride the lapband journey has to offer. Wish you a well and speedy recovery
  14. Sounds like you know what needs to be done, and are already getting on track to do it. I think you would benefit the most from planning ahead for meals and snacks that way you can control how many calories you are intaking and portion size! Keep you the great work your off to a good start just keep your head inmthe game. I noticed that after i restarted my weight loss the second time i have to work at it twice as hard! Dont be discouraged tho slow and steady wins the race. Good luck to you.
