Quest4TheNewMe got a reaction from Mello93 in Before and After Pics
I won't say that I'm at "after" yet, but I'm only one pound from my surgeon's goal. I'm 4.5 months post-op and down 96 lbs since I started this journey last July. Down 53 lbs since surgery in November.

My daughter tends to over analyze things to the extreme and I don't want to cause her any additional anxiety, which is why I haven't told her.
My son just turned three, so he has no clue and probably never will. LOL!!

Good morning all! I was 169.3 this morning. I'm happy to have finally broken into the 160s!!!!
I'll be updating the spreadsheet sometime this evening. My husband is out of town, so I'll probably do it after our toddler goes to sleep. Happy Monday everyone and have a good week!

(This might be my last weigh in for this challenge. I'll be gone on vacation next weekend and won't be able to weigh in until next Thursday.)

I've had two previous c-sections and they made me an expert in rolling onto my side before trying to sit up. My VSG recovery was easier than my c/s recoveries, bit I've also heard others say the opposite.

    So.....

Name one guy, JUST ONE, who is looking at your torso when there are nekkid boobs out AND a warm mother earth place for his wiggly worm.
I've been married for 20 years (two months and 6 days) and I can tell you my husband can't even begin to describe the birth mark above my belly button due to BOOBS.
    BOOBS.
    That's all he sees. Seriously.

    Let me ask you this.
What's more important? The number on the scale or how you look in your jeans? (I won't even say the number on the tag in your pants because I wear a 6, 8 or 10 depending on the brand.)
I weigh myself every day. Sometimes even 2 or 3 times a day. The number keeps me on track but I don't CARE about it. I care about how my ass looks in my jeans. Inches are FAR more important than pounds. To me anyways...

@@coleenrenee - I'm sorry you are feeling down. The reality of the situation is that you signed up for this change, not your family. Unless they are waving it in your face and taunting you, it's unrealistic to expect them to eat differently. Unless it is a mandatory family meal situation, perhaps it would be best to eat elsewhere for a while. At least until you are able to eat regular food again. However the fact of the matter is we will always have to make good food choices. That's why it's a lifestyle change. Try to begin wrapping your brain around that fact now.

Haha, I love it. It is so interesting to see what people eat and find “weird” versus “normal!” I love the differences between cultures – some breakfasts that are completely normal in some cultures end up being another culture’s weirdest breakfast!
I haven’t had anything too weird…probably because I’m not much of a chef! My strangest would probably be leftovers on an occasion when I’m pretty stuck for time and need something healthy. I might come up with something like leftover salmon and, since I love fruit, blueberries. I guess it’s like being an Alaskan bear.

Your definition of normal will totally change.

I don't know your fat stats, but I can tell you mine. My new normal is fitting into size 8 jeans instead of size 20. My new normal is my two teen daughters searching through my closet for a top instead of telling me that I need to wear something other than black. My new normal is eating in public without feeling like everyone is looking at the fat lady gorging. My new normal is putting a few treats in my grocery cart without feeling self conscious about it. My new normal is being the thin, fit mom at events instead of the fattest lady in the room. My new normal is being able to squeeze down crowded aisles, fit in theater seats, fly comfortably, cross my legs, tie my shoes, paint my toenails, complete a mud run, climb a lighthouse, ride a horse, fasten the safety belt of a roller coaster...

Yes, I can eat a bit of dessert if I choose to, but that's so not important to my new normal.
