those mice cookies were the first things to look yummy since I was banded. Well I am feeling a little better today, I am still not hungry but it's still a battle to get down my liquids. One step at a time I guess. oh some good news our soon to be puppy was born last night, a friends dog Rosie just had 6 healthy mini schnauzers last night. We get pick of the litter, so it looks like we will be having a new member of the family in late Feb. Have a safe week-end everyone!

Welcome me to bandland!! trouble w/liquid intake
I got home last night from being banded on Tues. It was rough going but I am making it through step by step. I have a heavy pressure in my chest and I feel like I need a really big burp! The rest of my gas pains are going away slowly but surely. I am having a really hard time getting in enough liquids. The isopure is gross..and according to my Dr. I am not to have ANY SUGAR AT ALL. I have read of others having apple juice if they want and that the next few weeks are about "healing" not losing weight. I am not diabetic at all so is this the "norm" I have been eating popcicles, water, some broth and some gulps of the isopure but I get a sick feeling everytime I taste it, but I know how important protein is. What to do? Any suggestions would be very helpful! At this point I have to keep reminding myself that this will all be worth it. Thanks for the continuous support on these boards!

Without sounding dramatic- I really hope this was worth it. I just feel I have really hurt my body. I guess I expected to be better off than this. sorry to sound so down, I guess I an just emotional right now. Well can't really sit here long, I just wanted to check in.

2 days to go
Hi Joe, First, congrats on losing the 17lbs! You may be able to drop those 2 by the liquid diet and some walking. Good luck. Do you think your Dr. will cancel for just the 2 pounds? Hope not. Have the nerves set in yet? I haven't really been too worried, more excited than anything. I only have to be on liquids tomorrow-thank goodness! I actually lost 5lbs since September..which was a pleasant surprise since I was bad at Thanksgiving. What time is your surgery? I have to be there by 9am and surgery at 10:30 and will come home-if all goes well- by 1-2pm on Wen. Good luck and make sure you let us know how you are doing!!

Clear liquid stage and Isopure question
Hi all, I am getting banded this Tuesday YAY! My Dr said that I will only be on clear liquids for 4 days......does this seem a little short to anyone? I was expecting atleast at week or more. Also, he wants me starting right out with Isopure protein water. I went to GNC today and all they had was grape frost-has anyone had this flavor before? I also need some other good flavors to buy when I go back-any suggestions? Thanks!

Eileen & Beanie, have a great time together this week-end. Cindy~have fun shopping...I love to shop and don't do it nearly enough for myself. Patty~good luck, all I know is that the whole process seemed to take forever and then *boom* the surgery date hits you. Now that I look back the time really flew. As for me, I am trying to tie up loose ends, laundry, food shopping, those kinds of things. I made a big pot of chicken Soup and have (20) 1/2 cup servings of broth in the freezer. I am going to make a pot of bean soup w/clear broth also...do you think that would be gassy even w/o the food part? I am waiting for the nerves to kick in, but so far it's just excitement..I guess that's good. Well gotta go make some popcorn for dd and her friend-they are watching Willy Wonka-the new one...kinda weird. It's ok but it can't compare to the original! Oh well..until next time!

How did you feel immediately after surgery?
I was told by my Doc that you "may" get the shoulder pain because the gas can push on a nerve behind your stomach that leads to your shoulder. I always wondered why the two were connected. Just my 2 cents.

band date 12/13/05
I think that fear is normal for anyone, I have been pretty excited so far but I do worry about complications during surgery. Good luck and know that your not alone! - I am being banded the same day at 10:30am Good Luck!

Emotional Before Banding
.... I think for me it is also the stress of not being able to do all the things I usually do as a mom. Me too! Although I have been on cloud 9, I worry about that also. But just think of what you WILL be able to do as a mom now! Good luck to ya, I go in on Tuesday

Good morning all! Well I am set for Dec. 13th, I just hope I am up and about for Christmas with my family. Thank you everyone for the support although I know I don't post as much as all of you....it really does help! Zan, you gave me an idea - maybe next year there could be an Atlantic City get together, although I know most of you are north Jersey gals.......It will also be a nice trip for all of the out of state gals....Texas, Virginia and any others! Just an idea...but not around the holidays, this way everyone has some money to lose at the tables and slots. I actually don't care for gambling, I want something in return for my money. just an idea. Beanie - have a safe trip to NY, wish I could join everyone! Cindy ~ enjoy the snow, we have an extra sled if ya need one. to everyone else ~enjoy your day!
