2 days to go

Recommended Posts

Hi eveyone

2 days to go before surgery.( Tuesday ). I weight in this morning @ 322 lbs ( yesterday it was 320.8 ) When I saw the doctor in September he said he wanted me to lose 19 lbs ( was 339 lbs then ). I have an appt on Monday @ 8:30 A.M. so I hope to be down to 320 lbs.

Any last minute tips on losing 2 lbs fast. I am doing the Full liquid diet today/ clear liquid diet on Monday.

Any tips??

Thanks

Joe

Hi Joe,

First, congrats on losing the 17lbs! You may be able to drop those 2 by the liquid diet and some walking. Good luck. Do you think your Dr. will cancel for just the 2 pounds? Hope not. Have the nerves set in yet? I haven't really been too worried, more excited than anything. I only have to be on liquids tomorrow-thank goodness! I actually lost 5lbs since September..which was a pleasant surprise since I was bad at Thanksgiving.

What time is your surgery? I have to be there by 9am and surgery at 10:30 and will come home-if all goes well- by 1-2pm on Wen.

Good luck and make sure you let us know how you are doing!!

Congrats on getting those pounds off on that liquid diet. I wish you loads of luck with your surgery. I'm sure the dr. will be happy with what you have lost. They mostly want to know you are dedicated to losing, so you have done great.

I'll be thinking about you and send a prayer out for you. Let us know how you are doing. I don't get banded till Spring, but love to hear how people do with the surgery and the band.

17lb is a great effort, nobody has such minute control over their weight that they could predict down to a pound or two what they were going to lose. They wont cancel for that, they might if you didnt lose any.

Good luck, you'll be fine. I'm on day 4 now and feel like I could do almost anything. But I"m milking it for all its worth anyway :-)

P.S. I noticed I forgot to change the band date on my reply, the doctor changed my band date so I'm now the 13th instead of the 20th, didn't want to confuse anyone.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
