  1. Thanks! Nice to "meet" you too! You and your DH look like a fun couple. Looks like I will be back in Dallas this week for my DH to get his surgery on Friday. It's a go! Maybe we should move back. LOL.
  2. And just because I couldn't resist, here is Reeses and Snickers (in that order)
  3. I guess I will go. My name is Jenna and I live in West Monroe, LA. I am 28 years old and married. My DH is planning to get banded as well. I have one beautiful daughter who is 6-Jordan. I have two Yorkies who are part of my family as well-Reeses and Snickers(can you tell my weakness?) Anywho here's the pic. It's of me and my brother at my recent 28 b-day bash.
  4. ok my turn.....I was banded last Friday 03-07-08. I was wondering if you guys are still on pain meds? yes....when I need it, which is usually after I exert myself too much. I am one of those who can't stand to stay still. what are you guys drinking and how much Water, Protein drinks, Special K protein water, gatorage G2 Are you all hungry yet? No not really. Only around meal time and I eat a little and then I am satisfied. Do you have bandages over your incisions? yeah...the clear ones the surgeon put on which will dissolve themselves. When are you guys allowed to shower? yup. Was told to shower 24 hrs after surgery and to shower regularly. Was told to wash incisions with soap and water. How do you guys sleep? I sleep on my side with a pillow under my belly for support or on my back with alot of pillows under my head proping me up. Do you know when we can sleep on our side? I would say ask your surgeon, but I already am....however, I don't move alot in my sleep so I tend to stay where I fell asleep. Hope this helps.
  5. Gas makes me cheesy.
  6. I like cheese.
  7. Have you ever PB'ed a ladybug? :smile2:
  8. Feeling a little sore and HATING the gas. My surgery center gave me this pain pump kinda thing that has a numbing agent in it that I hand over my neck and is implanted in my surgical site (kinda like an IV). I am suppossed to take it out in 5 days, but it is really a nuisance. I hate the thing. Anyway, I don't feel much like eating but I am trying to get enough liquid in to avoid dehydration. DH wasn't able to get his surgery. The surgeon was worried about his sleep apnea so my husband had a sleep study done and is on a cpap for treatment and then he should be a go for next week. How is everyone else doing?
  9. The gas has been killing me and I am a little sore. I don't feel much like eating at all, but trying to force myself to get enough liquids in. Other than that....playing the waiting game.
  10. Excited!!! Definatley excited. Surviving the liquid diet and just anxious to get it over with. Leaving for Dallas today! Wish me luck!
  11. It will just join the other one I already have there.
  12. Thanks...good luck to you too! I know this liquid diet is kicking my butt!
  13. I am 2 days in my liquid diet and I have to admit this sucks. Don't know if I am eating enough or too little, but I feel drained. Ready to get this surgery over with.
  14. Guess I need to update this huh? I was approved 02-25-08 and my surgery is scheduled for this Friday.

  19. Can't take credit for it. Someone else created it. :rolleyes2:
  20. Amanda, Beautifully written. I will be getting banded with you next week. Best of luck. To the OP......think of yourself and be confident in what you can accomplish and everything else will fall into place.
  21. right click and copy the pic. Go to my account and select edit signiture and paste the pic.
  22. Unfortunately, not local. We live about 4 hours away in Northern Louisiana. We are working through a local office here that Cribbins does the surgeries for and has trained the physician for aftercare. I have heard wonderful things about Cribbins and Hamn and don't mind the travel vs. the one suegeon here locally (no offense to anyone that uses my local surgeon).
  23. Thanks! Appreciate it!
  24. Well..................... I am being banded on March 7. My doc said that this Friday, Saturday and Sunday he wants me on a low fat diet and then starting Monday a liquid diet and of coarse nothing to eat or drink after midnight on Thursday. Friday is my birthday so I am sure we are going to dinner....might have to cheat a little on the low fat thing. I know, not a good start to my new life. I will probably guilt myself into eating right. However, I am definately not passing on the drinks. :glare:
