  1. LOL. Gotcha. I have found myself using the statement "please consult your surgeon first" alot lately after reading what others have put for "advice". Does get really annoying.
  2. Who, what, where? I wanna know!!! I need some drama. I am bored at home since I am still out on leave.
  3. I once won a grammy for my role is "PB and me".
  4. My surgeon was Dr. Cribbins in Dallas, TX. I responded to your pm with extra info. Let me know if you need anything else.
  5. I heard cabbage is the devil.
  6. Hmm....wonder if I could order General TSO chicken that way.
  7. No one has said that. I think people are just questioning because you haven't really given the complete story. Why is the the doctors fault? How do you know it's the doctor's fault? How do you know it was an "old band" and what do you mean by that? If it was a slip, couldn't it be just that, a slip and no one's fault? We are just trying to get a better understanding of the situation and why you feel this was the surgeons fault. If it was a slip and needed revision, yes I would go back to my surgeon. We aren't trying to say you are wrong for your feelings utah, we just need more info. Good luck to you.
  8. I would say this is the right place for removal or considering removal. I might go to the complications forum for revisions. Just MHO though. Good luck!
  9. I used Dr. Cribbins in Plano. He is very nice and caring and goes the extra mile for you. He has great bed side manner. I have heard wonderful things about his partner Dr. Hamn as well.
  10. Going for a walk....
  11. I would just add, when in doubt, consult your physician.
  12. It's their first post, so they probably haven't gotten a chance to feel out the forum yet. I would definately try to get back to Kentucky. Something scared me about the fact that you have had all these infections in your port area. I would have a barium swalllow to make sure everything is ok with your band. Thant's just my opinion though. Good luck!
  13. Let me start by saying if you feel ok, then you should be fine. but if your worried about it, speak with your doctor. It is very important to stick to the liquid diet your surgeon has given you. Eating anything solid after surgery causes your stomach to start doing it's job (digesting) which causes movement and since the liquid diet is meant for healing so that your band is healed in place properly by stitches and scar tissue, it's important to follow. You made a mistake, owned up to it....so move forward and gain a new determination that this is only temporary and you CAN DO THIS! My doc has me on 5 weeks full liquids. I just take one day at a time. If you feel like liquids aren't enough, talk to your doc. Happy sipping!
  14. Rubber bands suck.
  15. Hmmm...might have to try it. Thanks!
  16. Ah! Wouldn't most surgeons not cover the cost of a slip? Guess it depends on when the person in question was banded and if the slip was caused by the surgeon, person in question or none of the above eh?
  17. I was thinking the same thing MsPinky.....if it can remove my child's fake tattoos with ease, I am sure it will remove the goo.
  18. You wrote on another thread that this same Dr. asked you to come back for him to fix it. How is that not helping?
  19. I haven't read the PO admit that at all. The only thing she stated was she saw her doc, he won't take it out for 3 months and that she is feeling a little better since beginning solids. The OP also posted a similar thread before she was banded stating she had feelings that she fears she would regret getting the band when she is not able to eat the foods she loves to eat. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f84/scared-about-actual-surgery-52695/#post729320 I don't feel whimsy was trying to smack anyone down. She was stating a valid point. Getting any elective surgery comes with doing your research and the OP went into this knowing this was a lifestyle change, one that is not easliy reversed. Whimsy simply asked questions that many more were already asking.
  20. Sapphire, Please check with your doc about the ibprofen. Mine says none because it irritates the stomach. Just looking out for ya!
  21. I sent you a friends request as well. :huh2:
  22. I was banded by by Dr. Cribbins. He was wonderful. My DH will be banded by him this Friday. I have heard alot of good things about his partner Dr. Hamn as well.
  23. LOL. I agree. Maybe a few months down the road we can get together. It's only a 4 hr trip which isn't that far.
