  1. The carbs would be too high for me. Try Premier Protein, GNC Lean 25,
  2. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. We all experience stalls. But, to optimize weight loss, you need to make sure you are getting enough protein. Sometimes, you may also need more fat and/or carbs. To me, the macros are much more important than calories. I count all fluids (non-carbonated, non-caffeinated) towards my fluid totals. So, for an example, if you drink 3 Premier Protein ready to drink shakes, then I count 90 grams and 33 oz of fluid.
  3. The ones I have seen have too many carbs. What does the nutrition label look like? It is important to learn how to read labels. Look for a high protein low carb/sugar ratio.
  4. You need protein to heal and for weight loss. If you aren't getting enough protein then your body thinks there is a famine and it will do everything it can to conserve energy. I was told to concentrate on my protein target and getting at least 64 oz of Fluid. Calories are secondary. If you have to choose between going over 800 calories (which is an arbitrary number) to get in your protein then go for the protein. The quality and source of your calories is much more important than the number. 1200 calories of protein is much, much better than 800 calories of donuts. 5. Walking should help. I had most of my gas pain in my shoulder so a heating pad helped.
  6. Tuna, turkey, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, refried beans, chili.
  7. Welcome! I am doing great. I still have a long way to go but my life is completely different than it was a year ago.
  8. Even if you do everything by the letter, you are going to experience stalls and slow downs in weight loss. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience stalls. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing a large amount of weight. To me, the key to success is how I respond to inevitable stalls. Will I keep following my program or will I get discouraged and go back to old, bad habits? You get to decide. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  9. This looks and sounds really good.
  10. I was over 400 pounds (closer to 600 than 500) and was sleeved in the US. I couldn't be happier with my choice. My surgeon didn't have any issues with recommending the sleeve for me. I don't know if it makes a difference or not for your surgeon about where you carry most of your weight, but I carry most of my weight in my lower body.
  11. I agree with the previous posters. Also, keep in mind there is a difference between "full" and "satisfied". I prefer being satisfied to full (which is uncomfortable and icky).
  12. I vote for putting away the scale. I do much better when I focus on what I can control: water, Protein, Vitamins, exercise. The scale will take care of itself.

  14. Congratulations! One of the miracles of this surgery is how good and satisfying a small amount of high quality Protein can be.
  15. Welcome. Glad to hear your BP is under control.
  16. Congratulations! It goes away pretty soon. Keep walking and try a heating pad.
  17. I don't recall a specific time guideline. Try taking a very small bite, putting your utensil down, then chewing 20-30 times before picking up your utensil again.
  18. Fortunately, I haven't found the need to explain or justify my decision to have surgery to anyone. If "the natural way" doesn't work for you then it doesn't work. No need to apologize.
  19. Try near the pharmacy. They aren't refrigerated (but to me they taste best cold).
  20. Following. I saw a jalapeno popper deviled egg recipe the other day that looked good but I haven't made it. I love deviled eggs!
