"You had that fat people surgery"
So I have an Instagram and I enjoy showing off my fitness journey but I notice there's a bunch of people who're like "all natural weight loss" and "weight loss surgery is the easy way out". Yes, because getting my insides rewired is easy. So I had this one person try to sell me something from Herbalife and I kindly told them no and they literally said "you had that fat people's surgery, you probably need to cleanse your colon". Um, what. Have you ever been told surgery was the easy way out? What was your reply?

Online dating
I feel like online dating doesn't work for me mostly because I never went on any dates cause of my weight(s). I am 22 so I'm in no rush, been single since birth but I've tried POF...it was horrible. I tried koreancupid, japanesecupid, and did a free trial with match and match seemed okay but I wasn't able to pay for it. I also tried okc, people just wanted to have sex. I tried zooks, awful and badoo is awful too. I want to date but I want something serious, not just a stupid hook up so I'll probably wait until I get a bit older to join eharmony or something like that.

Tackling Depression
I had depression before surgery but it got 100 times worse after it. I found it was because I couldn't eat like I used too and friends weren't as supportive as I thought they were. The wonderful people on this site suggested I see a therapist that specializes in bariatric patients, do some more exercise and take certain Vitamins. I also know I was depressed because I thought my body dysmorphia would get better but its gotten worse. I'm in therapy for that now. So I highly just suggest therapy.

Dressing this new body
I haven't gotten to the point where I need a whole new wardrobe but I did have to go out and buy some new jeans and shirts because I had lost all of them in the move. I went to Ross and automatically got anxious and went to the plus section but it turns out I wasn't a size 26 in jeans anymore. This made me even more anxious because I had to ask a worker if they had any size 18 to 20 and I was afraid he would look at me funny. So, I know what you mean! Actually, I had a job interview at my favorite store, Torrid, and I can't fit anything there anymore because everything hangs off. I didn't get the job but I'm sure it was because I mentioned my surgery.

Spouse unable to deal with changes
Your husband sort of sounds like he misses the fun that came with eating with you and now that you had your surgery and don't eat or drink like you used too,he probably doesn't see the fun in just going on date nights that don't revolve around food. He also seems fearful that you're changing and he doesn't know how to deal with it. Have you tried talking to him about this?

Anxiety about being almost one year post op
Next month will be a whole year since my surgery and I am very anxious about it because I feel like things will change dramatically. I'm also a little worried about me not losing more than 74 pounds. I keep thinking about my first three weeks and how I began to crave food and how I ate a scrambled egg before I was told I could eat solids. I feel bad about that. I also feel like things happened so fast. It was like I was just in Nebraska and then I was in Georgia a month after my surgery working at a dog daycare and then a month later I am in Florida. I don't know where the time went and why the pounds didn't drop as fast. I also feel like I unknowingly sabotaged my surgery. It's just a lot of thoughts.

When will it be time to remove the skin?
Hello, So I am almost a year post op, I lost 74 pounds so far and I have extra skin on my arms, thighs and back. Do I need to lose more before its time to get it removed? Or is it time to get it removed? I can't seem to get a consultation.

Almost a year post op
So, its almost a year and I'm excited but a little anxious about it. My weight has gone up and down and stalled but I finally am starting to lose more weight since being off risperidone. Here is a little update: I saw my PCP and she told me I was a little bit anemic and she told me to buy Iron pills. I already had been taken iron pills before my blood work so she just said increase to two a day. My PCP also put in a referral for me to see a GI for a colonoscopy and to see a new bariatric surgeon. I am still waiting for the calls. My aprn finally took me off risperidone and I am on vraylar and I have been for two days. I already lost .8 pounds. I am no longer taking any sleep meds and I am now just taking one antidepressant. I started therapy a week ago and she works with gastric bypass patients so she really seems to understand. I also haven't had any rectal bleeding for this month and no stomach cramps as well as no dizziness either. My b12 was really high so I was told to stop taking it for awhile. Now I am taking b complex, iron and a Multivitamin.

I want to be left alone
I'm stressed out and angry at the fact my mom invited my little cousins to come and stay a whole two weeks. I am already anxious and depressed and, when my family is around, my mom is extra annoying and micromanaging. My meds aren't working right and I can't sleep. This man in my apartment complex is being very sexual towards me and my mom won't listen to me. I am ready to explode. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

Can someone give me a list of ALL the vitimins and minerals I need?
So I got my lab work from my PCP back today and here is an update Hemoglobin: 10.4 Low Hematocrit: 32.1 Low MCV: 76 Low MCH: 24.5 Low RDW: 16.6 High Fasting glucose: 106 High Folic Acid: 20.0 Vitamin B: 2,000 High I think I should be worried. I don't want to be worried. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App
