    Tattoos?

Hi. I don't want to sound ignorant but if I don't ask, I'll never know. I was looking at getting a tattoo, a small one, some time between next month and December. I am worried about the tattoo shrinking and I don't know if I should wait until after I have skin removal surgery (if I ever get to that point) to get it. Does anyone have a tattoo? Did you get it before or after surgery? How did it look after losing weight? I'm sorry for so many questions but this tattoo is really important to me and its not just a sudden choice, been thinking about it since I was 18 but my weight has held me back. 2. I didn't get my surgery done by him but, seeing as I moved to a new state, he is looking after me...or so I assumed. His office staff is lack, they take forever to send a fax or make an appointment. The doctor himself never has a sense of caring or urgency and he always sounds annoyed with his patients. I've been bleeding from my rectum since February and he hasn't done a thing about it. So I encourage you to NOT go to him if you're in the Pensacola area.
  3. I called my doctor again to let him know I threw up blood and he still said see him on Monday. Its time to disobey his orders. I'll keep you all posted. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

    Too many symptoms...

Okay so I am going to start from the beginning. Two weeks after surgery, I had bad hydration and had to go on home IV for a week. After that, I was fine. Starting in February this is what I had Constant diarrhea Blood in stool Extreme fatigue Bile in stool Stomach cramps Nausea Feeling dizzy upon standing Feeling fainting when standing up too long Feeling weak after eating. I talked to my PCP and she told me she didn't know what was going on, just to talk to my surgeon and my surgeon has done nothing. I know everyone here isn't a doctor but did any of you guies experience any of this? If so, what did your doctor say or do? Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App
  5. Next month will be a whole year since my surgery and I am very anxious about it because I feel like things will change dramatically. I'm also a little worried about me not losing more than 74 pounds. I keep thinking about my first three weeks and how I began to crave food and how I ate a scrambled egg before I was told I could eat solids. I feel bad about that. I also feel like things happened so fast. It was like I was just in Nebraska and then I was in Georgia a month after my surgery working at a dog daycare and then a month later I am in Florida. I don't know where the time went and why the pounds didn't drop as fast. I also feel like I unknowingly sabotaged my surgery. It's just a lot of thoughts.
  6. So I have an Instagram and I enjoy showing off my fitness journey but I notice there's a bunch of people who're like "all natural weight loss" and "weight loss surgery is the easy way out". Yes, because getting my insides rewired is easy. So I had this one person try to sell me something from Herbalife and I kindly told them no and they literally said "you had that fat people's surgery, you probably need to cleanse your colon". Um, what. Have you ever been told surgery was the easy way out? What was your reply?

    Online dating

I feel like online dating doesn't work for me mostly because I never went on any dates cause of my weight(s). I am 22 so I'm in no rush, been single since birth but I've tried POF...it was horrible. I tried koreancupid, japanesecupid, and did a free trial with match and match seemed okay but I wasn't able to pay for it. I also tried okc, people just wanted to have sex. I tried zooks, awful and badoo is awful too. I want to date but I want something serious, not just a stupid hook up so I'll probably wait until I get a bit older to join eharmony or something like that.

    Tackling Depression

I had depression before surgery but it got 100 times worse after it. I found it was because I couldn't eat like I used too and friends weren't as supportive as I thought they were. The wonderful people on this site suggested I see a therapist that specializes in bariatric patients, do some more exercise and take certain Vitamins. I also know I was depressed because I thought my body dysmorphia would get better but its gotten worse. I'm in therapy for that now. So I highly just suggest therapy.

    Dressing this new body

I haven't gotten to the point where I need a whole new wardrobe but I did have to go out and buy some new jeans and shirts because I had lost all of them in the move. I went to Ross and automatically got anxious and went to the plus section but it turns out I wasn't a size 26 in jeans anymore. This made me even more anxious because I had to ask a worker if they had any size 18 to 20 and I was afraid he would look at me funny. So, I know what you mean! Actually, I had a job interview at my favorite store, Torrid, and I can't fit anything there anymore because everything hangs off. I didn't get the job but I'm sure it was because I mentioned my surgery.
  11. Your husband sort of sounds like he misses the fun that came with eating with you and now that you had your surgery and don't eat or drink like you used too,he probably doesn't see the fun in just going on date nights that don't revolve around food. He also seems fearful that you're changing and he doesn't know how to deal with it. Have you tried talking to him about this?

    Protein powder?

Good morning (or afternoon) guy, I am going to buy some Protein powder today and was wondering, what Protein Powder do you use? What is a good recommendation? I heard whey protein is good but I know that whey is basically milk and some of us can't tolerate dairy. (I can though). Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App
  13. Hello, So I am almost a year post op, I lost 74 pounds so far and I have extra skin on my arms, thighs and back. Do I need to lose more before its time to get it removed? Or is it time to get it removed? I can't seem to get a consultation.

    Almost a year post op

So, its almost a year and I'm excited but a little anxious about it. My weight has gone up and down and stalled but I finally am starting to lose more weight since being off risperidone. Here is a little update: I saw my PCP and she told me I was a little bit anemic and she told me to buy Iron pills. I already had been taken iron pills before my blood work so she just said increase to two a day. My PCP also put in a referral for me to see a GI for a colonoscopy and to see a new bariatric surgeon. I am still waiting for the calls. My aprn finally took me off risperidone and I am on vraylar and I have been for two days. I already lost .8 pounds. I am no longer taking any sleep meds and I am now just taking one antidepressant. I started therapy a week ago and she works with gastric bypass patients so she really seems to understand. I also haven't had any rectal bleeding for this month and no stomach cramps as well as no dizziness either. My b12 was really high so I was told to stop taking it for awhile. Now I am taking b complex, iron and a Multivitamin.

    Florida

I live in Pensacola but moving to Crestview soon.
  16. Can I still see her with medicaid? I'm still in the process of finding one.
  17. So, I have medicaid and, since I've moved down here I have bad issues regarding my rny surgery (bleeding) and my new surgeon hasn't done anything about it. I got my lab work back from my PCP and my hemoglobin was low as well as a few other things. I am having some other symptoms and neither my surgeon or my PCP is doing anything. My mom is thinking about filing a lawsuit and, honestly, I don't think its worth it. It'll take too long, too much paper work but she is so headstrong about it. What do you guys think?

Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit

    Actually, no, I didn't.
  19. I'm stressed out and angry at the fact my mom invited my little cousins to come and stay a whole two weeks. I am already anxious and depressed and, when my family is around, my mom is extra annoying and micromanaging. My meds aren't working right and I can't sleep. This man in my apartment complex is being very sexual towards me and my mom won't listen to me. I am ready to explode. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

  21. So I got my lab work from my PCP back today and here is an update Hemoglobin: 10.4 Low Hematocrit: 32.1 Low MCV: 76 Low MCH: 24.5 Low RDW: 16.6 High Fasting glucose: 106 High Folic Acid: 20.0 Vitamin B: 2,000 High I think I should be worried. I don't want to be worried. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App
  22. A complete list would be helpful because I am not sure I am taking everything. What I have Vitamin D3 Iron Women's multivitamin/multimineral B12 I feel like I'm missing a ton.

Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit

I will go again but the last time I went, I told them I had wls and they didn't do a scope, they just did a hemoccult and I wasn't bleeding enough to the point where it showed up. I still begged them to do a scope and they literally told me to talk to my surgeon. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App I'm going to see my PCP on the 13th and ask her. I do have a family history of colon cancer. ???? Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

    My work here is done

Someone really thought it was okay to eat legit bacon one week post op and then got mad when they were told it was a huge mistake? What the hell. I'm pretty new and I love to get advice from people on here. I may not always agree but I still take it to heart because I know a lot of people on this site had the surgery long before I did. I'm glad I missed that thread and as for @@Kindle I don't think I've seen you in one of my threads but I wish you the best. You seem like a wise person. Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit

I think that's what I'm going to have to do because they're playing around and keep telling me they are booked into this month for scopes and then this month and on and on. I always get "we'll call you and let you know" um...been waiting since February for that call. This is just stressing me out. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App
