"You had that fat people surgery"
So I have an Instagram and I enjoy showing off my fitness journey but I notice there's a bunch of people who're like "all natural weight loss" and "weight loss surgery is the easy way out". Yes, because getting my insides rewired is easy. So I had this one person try to sell me something from Herbalife and I kindly told them no and they literally said "you had that fat people's surgery, you probably need to cleanse your colon". Um, what. Have you ever been told surgery was the easy way out? What was your reply?

Online dating
I feel like online dating doesn't work for me mostly because I never went on any dates cause of my weight(s). I am 22 so I'm in no rush, been single since birth but I've tried POF...it was horrible. I tried koreancupid, japanesecupid, and did a free trial with match and match seemed okay but I wasn't able to pay for it. I also tried okc, people just wanted to have sex. I tried zooks, awful and badoo is awful too. I want to date but I want something serious, not just a stupid hook up so I'll probably wait until I get a bit older to join eharmony or something like that.

Tackling Depression
I had depression before surgery but it got 100 times worse after it. I found it was because I couldn't eat like I used too and friends weren't as supportive as I thought they were. The wonderful people on this site suggested I see a therapist that specializes in bariatric patients, do some more exercise and take certain Vitamins. I also know I was depressed because I thought my body dysmorphia would get better but its gotten worse. I'm in therapy for that now. So I highly just suggest therapy.

Dressing this new body
I haven't gotten to the point where I need a whole new wardrobe but I did have to go out and buy some new jeans and shirts because I had lost all of them in the move. I went to Ross and automatically got anxious and went to the plus section but it turns out I wasn't a size 26 in jeans anymore. This made me even more anxious because I had to ask a worker if they had any size 18 to 20 and I was afraid he would look at me funny. So, I know what you mean! Actually, I had a job interview at my favorite store, Torrid, and I can't fit anything there anymore because everything hangs off. I didn't get the job but I'm sure it was because I mentioned my surgery.

Spouse unable to deal with changes
Your husband sort of sounds like he misses the fun that came with eating with you and now that you had your surgery and don't eat or drink like you used too,he probably doesn't see the fun in just going on date nights that don't revolve around food. He also seems fearful that you're changing and he doesn't know how to deal with it. Have you tried talking to him about this?

Anxiety about being almost one year post op
Next month will be a whole year since my surgery and I am very anxious about it because I feel like things will change dramatically. I'm also a little worried about me not losing more than 74 pounds. I keep thinking about my first three weeks and how I began to crave food and how I ate a scrambled egg before I was told I could eat solids. I feel bad about that. I also feel like things happened so fast. It was like I was just in Nebraska and then I was in Georgia a month after my surgery working at a dog daycare and then a month later I am in Florida. I don't know where the time went and why the pounds didn't drop as fast. I also feel like I unknowingly sabotaged my surgery. It's just a lot of thoughts.

When will it be time to remove the skin?
Hello, So I am almost a year post op, I lost 74 pounds so far and I have extra skin on my arms, thighs and back. Do I need to lose more before its time to get it removed? Or is it time to get it removed? I can't seem to get a consultation.

Almost a year post op
So, its almost a year and I'm excited but a little anxious about it. My weight has gone up and down and stalled but I finally am starting to lose more weight since being off risperidone. Here is a little update: I saw my PCP and she told me I was a little bit anemic and she told me to buy Iron pills. I already had been taken iron pills before my blood work so she just said increase to two a day. My PCP also put in a referral for me to see a GI for a colonoscopy and to see a new bariatric surgeon. I am still waiting for the calls. My aprn finally took me off risperidone and I am on vraylar and I have been for two days. I already lost .8 pounds. I am no longer taking any sleep meds and I am now just taking one antidepressant. I started therapy a week ago and she works with gastric bypass patients so she really seems to understand. I also haven't had any rectal bleeding for this month and no stomach cramps as well as no dizziness either. My b12 was really high so I was told to stop taking it for awhile. Now I am taking b complex, iron and a Multivitamin.

I want to be left alone
I'm stressed out and angry at the fact my mom invited my little cousins to come and stay a whole two weeks. I am already anxious and depressed and, when my family is around, my mom is extra annoying and micromanaging. My meds aren't working right and I can't sleep. This man in my apartment complex is being very sexual towards me and my mom won't listen to me. I am ready to explode. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit
I will go again but the last time I went, I told them I had wls and they didn't do a scope, they just did a hemoccult and I wasn't bleeding enough to the point where it showed up. I still begged them to do a scope and they literally told me to talk to my surgeon. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App I'm going to see my PCP on the 13th and ask her. I do have a family history of colon cancer. ???? Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

My work here is done
Someone really thought it was okay to eat legit bacon one week post op and then got mad when they were told it was a huge mistake? What the hell. I'm pretty new and I love to get advice from people on here. I may not always agree but I still take it to heart because I know a lot of people on this site had the surgery long before I did. I'm glad I missed that thread and as for @@Kindle I don't think I've seen you in one of my threads but I wish you the best. You seem like a wise person. Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit
I think that's what I'm going to have to do because they're playing around and keep telling me they are booked into this month for scopes and then this month and on and on. I always get "we'll call you and let you know" um...been waiting since February for that call. This is just stressing me out. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit
I still am bleeding rectally and I've asked my PCP to send me to a GI but she keeps telling me to go to my surgeon. I know suing isn't the answer but she's worried that something really bad is wrong with me and I am going to get worse before anyone bothers to help. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit
That's the thing, I don't know. I am doing research on my own and I keep getting different things but my doctors literally aren't taking any action and doing anything. Each day I literally feel weaker and weaker. Last week I had to use my mom's old wheelchair.

Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit
So, I have medicaid and, since I've moved down here I have bad issues regarding my rny surgery (bleeding) and my new surgeon hasn't done anything about it. I got my lab work back from my PCP and my hemoglobin was low as well as a few other things. I am having some other symptoms and neither my surgeon or my PCP is doing anything. My mom is thinking about filing a lawsuit and, honestly, I don't think its worth it. It'll take too long, too much paper work but she is so headstrong about it. What do you guys think?

Dr. Jeffrey Lord (Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola Florida)
I didn't get my surgery done by him but, seeing as I moved to a new state, he is looking after me...or so I assumed. His office staff is lack, they take forever to send a fax or make an appointment. The doctor himself never has a sense of caring or urgency and he always sounds annoyed with his patients. I've been bleeding from my rectum since February and he hasn't done a thing about it. So I encourage you to NOT go to him if you're in the Pensacola area.

In a bad depression slump...
Thank you everyone. I've been gone for awhile because I got busy again but I got my blood test back and my hemoglobin was low (10.6) and my fasting blood sugar was 106. ???? I still am having the strange sensations of pressure coming down from my head and being dizzy when I stand up. At first, it was just after eating food but now it's after I take my medicine and after I eat food. My PCP still isn't doing anything and my surgeon hasn't called back yet to schedule any test. I see my APRN tomorrow afternoon and I am going to talk to her about the medication and how it's affecting me. I've been on zoloft, wellbutrin, and risperidone since 2011, its not working and it's time for a change. I also took my medical symptoms into my own hands and did some research on it. It seems I really do have reactive hypoglycemia or POTS. Also, my surgeon isn't doing anything about my bleeding because its bright red blood...its not in his "medical jurisdiction". ???? It was dark red one time but that wasn't enough to worry him? I just can't figure out why no one is helping me down here other than the fact I have medicaid and they treat us badly.

In a bad depression slump...
Thank you to everyone. I am getting my blood test tomorrow, for the 3rd time. I am also doing more things like walking and yoga that makes me feel better. I am listening to podcast to take my mind off things and I am going to see my aprn on the 12th. I have so much on my mind, and I didn't mean to make so many topics or anything, I just had a lot on my mind. Tonight I am doing some yoga and talking to a few old friends to help me get my mind off of things. I also started a journal about how the medication makes me feel.
