Hunger has been insane since last night
Not sure what happened around 10 but I've been so hungry. I had toast and a Protein shake for Breakfast at 9 this morning and then at 11:30, I had half a sandwich and another Protein Shake. In between I am drinking my fluids. Had been drinking my fluids since last night. Anyway, I am in the process of finding another surgeon and another psychiatrist because the ones I have now are awful and I am on way too much medication.

Caffeine - when if at all can we start to drink coffee again?
I was told I need to get 36oz of Water in first during the first three month after surgery and to not drink any caffeine until the 5th month. I started having iced coffee once a day in my 5th month and then hot coffee in my 6th month. It bothers my stomach so I don't drink it anymore. But it does make you dehydrated so I suggest you ask your doctor before you have any caffeine.

My Gurgle Gurgle
After my surgery, my stomach didn't gurgle and I didn't have diarrhea until February (had my surgery in September). My stomach started to gurgle in march after I had certain foods. I find that I get gurgle and then diarrhea after eating certain things like bread or beef, sometimes fish and fruits. So I only have a little bit of those things and drink more Protein shakes to replace the beef and eat chicken to help with the protein as well. I think our bodies all can and cannot tolerate different things. I would suggest keeping a food journal and write down what gives you the gurgles and diarrhea and then do process of elimination and stop eating what is causing the diarrhea. Have you talked to your surgeon about it?

Too many symptoms...
Okay so I am going to start from the beginning. Two weeks after surgery, I had bad hydration and had to go on home IV for a week. After that, I was fine. Starting in February this is what I had Constant diarrhea Blood in stool Extreme fatigue Bile in stool Stomach cramps Nausea Feeling dizzy upon standing Feeling fainting when standing up too long Feeling weak after eating. I talked to my PCP and she told me she didn't know what was going on, just to talk to my surgeon and my surgeon has done nothing. I know everyone here isn't a doctor but did any of you guies experience any of this? If so, what did your doctor say or do? Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

In a bad depression slump...
I told my aprn about the surgery and she acts like she doesn't understand the malabsorption part but only the "weight loss part". I am on two new medications, vistaril twice a day for anxiety and remrom for sleep. I sleep but I wake up exhausted. I'm trying my best. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

In a bad depression slump...
I don't have any friends here in Florida, I'm trying to meet people and I had the surgery to become healthy and to get rid of diabetes and acid reflux, and those are gone now. I do want to look better but I have a hard time even thinking I look good. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App Congrats on getting rid of your diabetes and acid reflux! I bet you feel better about that! I think you may suffer from low self-esteem, though. Why did you move to Florida?Well, its a really long story but I was supposed to be in Georgia but I was in a bad living situation so I ended up here. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

My new surgeon...
As a doctor, he SHOULD care about you. Doctors cannot be good at what they do unless they are motivated by the well-being of their patients. I recommend seeing another doctor. This one sounds like a jerk. If your bleeding becomes severe, or bad enough to cause you panic, please go to the ER.I'm really thinking about switching to another surgeon because this one really made me angry when last month I was having really bad bleeding and stomach pain, some constipation and weakness. I called him and asked him if I needed to go to the er and he told me to do a liquid diet for the weekend...which didn't help so I saw him on that following Monday and his PA said the same thing about the procedures that need to be done. The thing that made me so mad was he didn't have a sense of urgency in his voice, he was so nonchalant about it. I've been to the ER four times before this and they literally just send me home with some muscle relaxers for my stomach and tell me to see my surgeon. I have a whole bunch of symptoms that started back in February and he won't even listen to me. The problem with changing doctors is I am going to have to wait for a referral and it take up to seven weeks. I am at wits end. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

In a bad depression slump...
Well, since I moved to a new state, my new aprn couldn't seem to understand the malabsorption thing and she put me on lower dosages of Zoloft and welburtrin because she doesn't want me to gain weight from them. I am also on risperdone and have been since 2011 and its hardly working anymore. I noticed that when I take capsule medicine, it works way better. I told my aprn that and she switched me to visatril for anxiety and it has been doing an okay job up until now and I was on a new antipsychotic called vraylar but my insurance company said it needs to be approved so I'm waiting for that. She won't do anything, my aprn, so I am stuck and I am trying to change the way I think about food but its hard, I just don't find it enjoyable anymore at all. In a bad depression slump...
I used to go to therapy before my surgery when I lived in Nebraska. I stopped going after the surgery because I had to move. Now that I am in Florida, it seems like I can't get in to see a therapist because of my insurance. I am going to see one at a clinic but that won't be until the 18th. In a bad depression slump...
I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time. Are you being treated for your depression? If not, I highly recommend that first thing tomorrow you call and make an appointment with your PCP and call your surgeon's office to see if you can get a referral to a good therapist who works with bariatric patients. You do not have to go through this without help. In the meantime, try taking a warm shower or bath, and get a good nights sleep. Be gentle with yourself. We are here to help. I take two antidepressants, have been since 2011. My depression only got worse after the surgery, the antidepressants are hardly helping. I didn't know there were therapist that work with bariatric patients only, I'll call my surgeon tomorrow and see what can be done. Thank you so much. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

In a bad depression slump...
So I had weight loss surgery on September 2nd of last year and have lost, like, 53 pounds and I should have lost 80 by now and I have been more anxious and depressed since my surgery. So I'm having a depression slump and I am looking at old pictures of me and crying because I really miss being able to eat to cope with my depression. Right now, even though I know its not true, I feel like I am utterly alone. I know I have family and friends in other states but I feel alone, I feel like no one loves me or cares about me, I feel like I can't get better mentally and its an awful feeling because I am not sure how to cope anymore, I don't know what to do to cope. I cannot over eat so I don't try to and writing and reading and crocheting doesn't help, makeup isn't even helping despite me doing a bunch of it. This is one thing most gastric bypass surgery patients go through, they're somewhat depressed because they can't eat like they used to and food is no longer fun. Its not fun to go out and eat, its not fun to go to family gatherings and eat, its not fun to go on trips and eat. Eating in general is no longer enjoyable for me. I mean, yeah, food like my kale and fruit smoothie is enjoyable but things like cake, chicken, beef, hot dogs, Chinese food, etc (which I don't even eat anymore) isn't fun... this surgery took away the joy in eating and I am happy I had the surgery but at the same time I miss being able to look forward to going out to eat, not looking forward to waiting 30 minutes before drinking or playing guess which foods your stomach can't tolerate today. I'm sorry for this but my depression has gotten worse since the surgery so its a win lose for me but at least I'm getting healthy, I guess. I just feel like I cannot cope at points and I want to revert back to self harm, which I haven't done since 2013. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

I think I am having my first stall...
I am 10 months post op and I have only lost 55 pounds. For the past week, I have been up and down cause first it was like I was dropping weight like crazy but then I gained weight and I am stick between 255 and 256.7. I am going NUTS because I am doing literally everything I am supposed to do. The scale says I am not losing weight but I can tell a difference in my body and how it feels but the numbers aren't adding up. I am only 22...I am letting this stress me out so bad to the point were its making my anxiety worse than it already was. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using the BariatricPal App

Can someone give me a list of ALL the vitimins and minerals I need?
I am sorry it took me forever to reply, I got so busy but thanks everyone. I went to see my surgeon and his PA told me I need Flintstones vitamins, which I got and Calcium citrate... Which I am waiting for that to come in the mail. He wants to do blood work, again, because the last time he saw me I was a little anemic. So I am going to do my blood work next week but I have been this: Flintstone's multivitamin chewables 3x a day Iron once a day B12 once a day Vitamin D3 once a day I notice a difference in feeling less weak now that I am taking the Flintstone's multivitamin but I still don't feel well overall.

My new surgeon...
I got my surgery in Nebraska, I had to move out of state less than a month after surgery and ended up in Florida. Now, I have medicaid for an illness but, I realized, down here in Florida, medicaid patients are treated waaaaay differently. so my new surgeon isn't...well, he seems like he doesn't care about my health and wellbeing. I only saw him once, the second time I went to his office, I had to see his PA. I keep getting the same thing "you need a colonoscopy and endoscopy to see why you're bleeding" but they're taking so long just to get me to have one because they're so overbooked but, in the mean time, I am bleeding from my rectum dark red blood on and off. I'm not saying my surgeon has to care about me, all I am saying is if he knows all the problems I am having...why isn't he doing the sensible thing and putting me into the hospital so other doctors can see what's wrong cause clearly he doesn't have time for all his patients.

Not losing weight anymore?
I had my surgery on 9/2/2015 so I am almost a year out. I started at 311 lbs and now, only after nearly a year, I am at 255...? I gained weight, I was 248...I don't understand how this happened. I walk everyday for an hour, I do light exercise in my house for 30 minutes, I take all my Vitamins and get in all my Protein and fluids, I only have six small meals a day, less than a cup of food. Why am I stuck at 255? Why did I experience a sudden drop and weight and then a gain and now I am stuck? I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but if so, help. I know I am having issues of bleeding from my rectum on and off, I've had it since February but my doctor isn't doing anything about it, (my new surgeon, not my old one back in Nebraska, I am in Florida now), he thinks it's just a hemorrhoid... The last time I checked, hemorrhoids don't give you extreme stomach spasms and make you bleed just dark red blood. I don't understand what the hell is happening here.

A complete list would be helpful because I am not sure I am taking everything. What I have Vitamin D3 Iron Women's multivitamin/multimineral B12 I feel like I'm missing a ton.
