  1. Zan - your list is amazing as well! I wished I'd seen Madonna, when she was fun! We've seen a lot of the same shows. The secret to my long list is that way, way, a long time ago, one friend worked at the big ticket agency (Ticketmaster), and one friend worked for a record label. Good friends to have!
  2. Kare, hang in there, girl. I just went through what sounds like the same kind of thing with my mom. Is it an aortic aneurysym? (((((Kare))))) A cyber hug and a prayer ^ for you and your parents. Cindy
  3. Hi Kendra! I"m so glad to hear you are doing well, and at the computer! I agree, those gas pains are just the WORST! I don't remember drinking a lot of water, just sipping through out the day, but I can't imagine why this would hurt you. Stay posted for all the really experienced people to give you some input! Congratulations! How many days off of school are you taking? Cindy
  4. Okay, all done! I got .2 cc's. They do fills under a flouro, and at first, laying down, she wasn't sure she could give me any more...so she went ahead and did .2 and had me stand up in front of the flouro, and said that looked good, and offered another .2. I went the conservative route, and stuck with the first .2cc fill only...didn't want to push it. So, I learned that some people's anatomy looks more restricted when they are laying down, and I am one of those. They cautioned me, because of this especially, not to eat right before going to bed, because the restriction is much more when lay8ng down, and I didn't want that food hanging out in the pouch all night. Sounded like a good idea to me! So, all is well, I'm drinking my protein shake (Advantage) and taking little bitty sips. Thanks for the support. What would I do without all of you? ~Cindy~
  5. "With the band" might have really BEEN with the band! You got to see Led Zeppelin!!!!! I'm enjoying this thread...but I'm a big music lover! Fun to see what concerts others have seen. I saw Elvis at the Houston Astrodome in 1969; I was in 8th grade...I got to buy new cowboy boots, just for the occasion. I'll never forget it!
  6. HI and welcome! Find the User CP (control panel) listed across the top of the page...you'll find something like "edit signature" and that's where you put all that stuff. Let us know if you don't find it! Good luck with the process...at least you've found LBT and bunch of people who know what you are going through. Cindy
  7. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day! Cindy
  8. Most of the time, my breakfast is a Zone Perfect bar...I love Fudge Graham! Other times, I have a protein drink, and others I have oatmeal with ground flax (I add that part). I also like vanilla yogurt (Blue Bunny) with frozen berries and just a tablespoon of granola. Hope you get some good ideas! Cindy
  9. Just stopping by to say good morning! Thanks for the good luck wishes, and I'll let you know how it goes! P.S. The scale finally moved again...246! Cindy
  10. Yu should do what you feel is best for you. Since you asked for input, though, I will share with you that I am like Vines...I say "I had lapband surgery in July." I want others to know there is a way out of their obesity problem. I've had several people ask me about it, and I am happy to tell them. Like someone said, though, it is purely up to you whether you want people to know or not. Good luck with your decision, Cindy
  11. This will not be a complete list, but I will try: Elton John; Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young; Steely Dan (in the 70s and in the 90s), Joni Mitchell, Pointer Sisters, Rolling Stones (70s), Simon and Garfunkle;David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, U2(80s), REM, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Big Country, The Call, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Yes, Rush, Pink Floyd; Edgar Winter; Moody Blues;Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Commodores, Joe Jackson, The Pretenders, The Clash/Big Audio Dynamite, Iggy Pop; Warren Zevon; Aerosmith; Leon Russell; Beach Boys, Jackson Browne, Harry Chapin, Elvis Costello; Emerson, Lake and Palmer; Billy Joel; Loggins and Messina; ZZ Top; Duran Duran; Flock of Seagulls, The Go-Gos; Berlin; Bette Midler; Crowded House; Dexy's Midnight Runners; Gino Vanelli; Garth Brooks; Howard Jones;INXS; Joe Cocker; LL Cool J; Metallica; New Order; Pearl Jam; The Police; Tears for Fears; The Bangles; Toad the Wet Sprocket; and more.... Quite a variety, for sure!
  12. Pat, you are a very beautiful woman! And I love the red hat/purple dress crew! Y'all make quite a formidable gang! Beanie, it's one more day closer to Friday. I am so impressed with your dedication to the gym. It is very inspiring! Zan, coffee keeps me up if I drink it late in the day, too...but Starbucks is often worth it! Hope you got some sleep. Lisa, good luck with your goal...it is so hard to give up soda, AND to quit eating at night! You can do it! Eileeeeeeen, can you come help me with my computer room...and the rest of the house! Why is it more fun to clean at other people's homes, than it is to clean our own mess? Just wondering.... Beautiful day, tomorrow is 2nd fill (ya'll are probably sick of hearing about it, but it was a big decision for me...) Life is good. Cindy
  13. Glad to hear everything went fine. Take it easy, although I see that will be difficult with 3 kids...I have 1 and can barely do everything! Cindy
  14. Wishes for a smooth surgery and healthy recovery! Cindy
  15. Congrat, Kat! I'm glad to hear all is well, and I hope you are resting and sipping your water! Cindy
  16. Freaky! Creepy! I've already got 3 dogs, or I'd think about it.
  17. Welcome, and I like the simplicity of your question. For me, only 4 months out and still a bit of a newbie, it works. It is not instantaneous...it is not always dramatic...but slowly, and mostly steadily, the weight is lost. I've learned not to rely on my old enemy, the scale, and I've learned not to rely on my old friend, food. The batle is not won in one fell swoop...it is won one small decision at a time, and the band gives you the time. Keep reading, keep asking, and you will make the right decision for you. Good luck, Cindy
  18. I'm writing to say "hi" and welcome you here. There are incredible stories here about people who have been taken off all their meds, including insulin, blood pressure, etc. I am sure they will write to tell you their encouraging stories. I am so pleased to have had this surgery; it has been nothing but great! Welcome, and post anytime! Cindy
  19. Hi to everyone! I'm a few weeks short of 4 months with the band, and what a difference it has made! I have lost 35 lbs, and two sizes. On my signature, you can see the "stats". My 2nd fill is for tomorrow, and I hope it will be just right--not too much. Pats on the back to everyone, you're working hard and it shows! Cindy
  20. I sure hope you are okay. Let us know. Cindy
  21. After my surgery, I was given 4 color pictures of my band...complete with a color picture of my liver. My doctor told me he could tell by my liver's appearance that I had dont a good job in following the pre-op diet he recommended...I guess you can consider that your report card. It is tough, but you are worth it, and you will be fine. Good luck, Cindy
  22. My band is great and has changed my life because now I have brakes, which I couldn't find before, and can stop eating, regardless of "why" I want to eat.
  23. Just thinking of you, and wishing you the best surgery and recovery ever! Welcome to the bandsters! Let us know if you have questions...and post when you can! Cindy
  24. Wow! Betty, you must be one hot babe in that awesome-looking car! I"m going to start wishing a little harder for my dream car...I have several that would do!
  25. Super, Margo! I share your love of the band...I call it the "brake." Glad it's working out for ya! Cindy
