  1. I love Disneyworld! (Mickey MOUSE...CRAZY!)
  2. Just DO THA DANG THING! I'm SO glad to see you! Cindy
  3. I guess I'm just all about the practicality: tankinis make it easier when you have to go potty!
  4. Hi everybody! Sorry I've been a little scarce, but I've been here in spirit. Kat, I am praying for your DH and you, too. Please post when you get some news. Beanie, thanks for the hugs, and you are right. It is not possible to get too many! Eileen, way cool on the pics! You were so close! Have fun at the petting zoo with DD today! Betty, glad your weekend went okay, and you got some rest. Bubbame, just hang in there. Keep your head. It always surprises them, and after all, that IS the best revenge! Donna, I started giggling when I read your post to Darcy...I just knew you were gonna pull the GEESE story out, like I did on you....not that it isn't a perfectly good story.... EIGHT more days until school's out, and two of them are 1/2 days. We're gettin' there. Ira, hope all is well. Hugs to all, and much love, Cindy
  5. Betty, I'm thinking of you, too. I hope that all the love that surrounds you gives you the same comfort that I've found. I still feel the sting of tears, but I also feel a shield of love and care from all the LBT friends, and my other family and friends, and I know their prayers and concern help so much. Donna, the same for you. Remember that you are so important as a mother, and you give your kids your love, wisdom and gifts so that they enjoy Mother's Day today and all the days of the year. Thank you to all for your sweet kindness. Thank you, Pat, for your call! Donna, I am just so impressed with your photos...you look so beautiful, happy and full of life! The view from your porch is fantastic! I just wanted to pop in and say Happy Mother's Day to all...for after all, every woman is a mother in some way to someone! Hugs, Cindy
  6. Keep on going, Angels! Leatha, you are so wonderful to think of that grumpy man! I think you are being guided to minister to this man, and showing love and kindness toward him is surely a blessing to him. Let's keep blessing others...it's truly the best feeling! Happy Mother's Day! Cindy
  7. Hi, everybody! So much good news! First to Patty, I'm so happy about DS's great dr. report! Don't borrow trouble and worry too much for the future. Enjoy the here and now. You do so well at that! Eileen, have a fantastic and rockin' good time tonight! Beanie, have a nice weekend...Friday's are so great, aren't they? And, congrats on the scale movement! I just love that! Becky, thanks for checking in! Betty, enjoy your weekend...knowing you, there are parties and all kinds of great cooking going on around your house! Donna...how's the weather down on the Florida beach? Pat? Anything going on the continual story of crazy DIL? Anne, just haven't said hi to you personally in a while! JerseyTammy - hey there! We're all Jersey girls in spirit, but there's plenty of us feisty Texas gals on here, too! I'm feeling pretty good so far coming up to Mother's Day...I am sure that a big part of that is due to the prayers and support of all of you! You know what else is so sweet? One of the girls who graduated last year came up to school today to bring me flowers for Mother's Day, just to say she remembered it would be hard without my mother and that she cared. My bestest friend who I also teach with slipped a Thinking of You card in my mailbox, saying the same type of thing...she lost her mother about 15 years ago, even though she is only in her 30s. So, thank you, everyone, for being so "there" for me, and being as always a safe and warm and loving place to rest. Hugs, Cindy
  8. Good luck, Patty. No need to relive the whole thing for us. We just know. God gave your son a special angel for a mom. I love your ring, Eileen! Have fun at Marshall Tucker! Donna, sorry about your DH's back...bummer. Ya'll are the best...thanks for just letting me hit and miss with you...I only have a few minutes here and there, and yes, I am still talking to lawyers and reading wills. Sheesh! Wouldn't it be nice if people just played fair to start with? I can't believe I have to hire a lawyer to pressure my mom's sister (my aunt) to play nice. It's sad, really. On a happier note, I was able to change my ticker today...I've been at 228 or less for 5 days now, so that's my criteria to change it. Whoohoo! Love you all, Cindy

Shocked. Stunned. Then, I have convinced myself that it is a blessing in disguise, as others have already explained. He's sure to get out there after the AI tour and pull an awesome band together, front the band, and I will buy the CD on the first day! I don't think I'll be lonely in that line, either. I think of his wife and kids, too. I hope this will be for the best for their sakes, as well. That's why, even though I think he is incredibly attractive, I don't go on too much about it, because it seems disrespectful to his wife, who has been supporting him all the way. I figure if the one I least expect will win, it'll be Katharine, and we'll not hear from her much after that.
  10. I am grateful for the prayers on my behalf, thank you all so much. I am praying for all my LBT prayer partners. Cindy
  11. Hello, everyone...sorry it's been so long! I have been feeling better. I cut out the salads at school (again), and I have eliminated the coffee creamer (just in case). No migraine since Friday. I say that in a whisper in case the migraine gods think I am taunting them.... The absence is due to every spare minute being spent on dealing with the family estate. My mom's "branch of the tree" has found an attorney who can help us deal with the complicated issues in the estate. So, I haven't jumped ship; I've just been occupied on another deck. Good wishes to everyone. I don't have much time right now, but will soon be gabbing and chatting once again. Congrats to Eileen on her new jewels! Way to go! Also, glad you to see you, Pat! Hugs, Cindy

It's going to be an all-male Final Three, or at least it should be. Katharine is talented, that is for sure, but not like these three guys. I've been all about Chris from the beginning, but Taylor is a blast, and Elliott has made so much progress since the beginning. It's gonna be interesting! C.
  13. I just read this thread again, and thought it worth bumping. Please especially remember to be a blessing on the road. There are so many aggressive drivers. Let someone merge into your lane...you're still going to get there, and the other driver will be grateful. If it's me, I'll even wave! Oh, and leave some space between you and the vehicle in front of you. Let's all be road angels instead of road warriors this week! Blessings to all, Cindy
  14. Hi everyone! I just re read through all the latest posts, and HOW did I miss the part about Betty winning 1st place for her bike??????? That's fantastic! I think you've posted one picture with you and the bike, but another wouldn't hurt. I've had two headache-free days in a row...Sat. and Sun. That's good news, right! The Kite Fest was fun...we had a blast working the fishing booth (the kind where the kid throws a line with a clothes pin over a shower curtain, and someone back there pins a prize on). At the silent auction, my sis bid on "Headmaster for a Day" for my DD, and won it, so now DD gets to be Headmaster one day, and her friend gets to be the secretary...someone should issue a warning or something! Right now, my DH and DD are at Horsemanship Camp with the Girl Scouts...I've had 6 hours of just me-time...of course, I spent it catching up on laundry and cleaning my closet, but it sure feels good to catch up on something! I'm leaving in a little while to meet DH and DD and my dad's for them to clean up, then off to a church thing...DD's choir is singing at it, and we're having barbeque and all that. Whew! Busy, but fun stuff! Donna, I like the writing you posted, where'd you get it? Or did you write it? Eileen, thank you for posting the so-great compliment to the NJ Board on the compliment thread...I'm glad to see that you were mentioned specifically, because you are the BOMB, girl! Betty, too! I am pretty sure some other people on here were listed, as well they should be! I also think of all of us a sisters, or a circle of loving friends, and this board has offered the very best support in our lapband journey, and the bigger journey of life of anywhere else...what a blessing to find you all here! Hugs to all! Cindy
  15. Welcome back, Becky! I'm glad you are healthy, and back on track! Cindy
  16. I get migraines, too. Imitrex scares me, too. In fact, it makes me even more sick. Since migraine triggers are really complicated, the only thing I'd spend any little bit of time at all thinking about is if anything you are eating is a trigger. Chocolate can be one. On the other hand, it helps some people. No one has to be perfect. Repeat after me. No one has to be perfect. There. Now, don't worry. Talk to your doctor about your migraines. I am using Topamax as a preventative. I have a med to take if I get one (Esgic plus) and Phenergan for nausea. I wish you luck with your headaches...I know I have been having a streak of headaches lately, and I am sick of the stupid, dumb things! Hugs, Cindy
  17. LOL! That eye is scary enough to make even me drink more water!
  18. That picture tells the story! Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us, and light the way! Congratulations!
  19. Thank you, Leatha. I do pray for your family, and all families who are given the situation of addiction to face. We have faced alcohol addiction in our family, and thank God that we have been sober almost 5 years now. I also have family members who continue to drink and abuse prescription medication, and, of course, family members who enable that abuse. Rest assured that prayers are continuous and fervent. Blessings to all, Cindy
  20. I pray for each request, that God hold you in His merciful hands. May He provide exactly what you need. May He give you strength to do what has to be done, and wisdom to see your path. May you be a blessing to others. You have asked for God's grace in Jesus' name, and it will be given. Praise Jesus' name, Amen I haven't posted on this thread, but I read it and pray for all concerns. I just want to thank all of you for the inspiration you have given me to continue with the challenges in my life. It is always inspiring to see that everyone has blessings and challenges, and you never know what a person is facing in his or her life, regardless of their smile on the outside. I hope to remember to be more compassionate and understanding. I am asking for prayers of comfort and healing as I face the first Mother's Day without my mom and grandma. I know it is fast-approaching, and even when I realize that they are with Him now, it does not help me miss them less. I know that your prayers will help me. I thank you so much. Hugs, Cindy
  21. Congratulations, Donna, on the big 50 lb milestone!~~ I KNOW this is not the easy way, LOL! You are going fast and furious, and making fantastic progress! Thank you all for the hugs and concern about my stupid, dumb headaches. Sherry, I'm interested in what your chiro says about reiki...and Kat, I suspect hormonal changes, since I am 50 and menopausal. The problem is, I can't really track my periods, since I am without uterus myself! LOL! I do have the ovaries, so that's why I am suspecting hormonal influence, but am not overly crazy about any HRT. Once upon a time I took Depo-Provera birth control shots, and let's just say my body did NOT like those. It does not like progesterone cream, either. I will talk to my dr. about these things, and she's an internist, so we will continue tweaking the plan, and come up with something. Sorry to say, I do have a headache again today. Woke up with it, as usual, had vomiting (this isn't severe), then just took it one step at a time and made it to work (I don't have any leave left). It is better now, and I'll make it through...Ya'll are so sweet to care. Kat, you're doing good on your weight loss! Eileen, good to see you, even if you are trying to scare us by saying Boo! LOL! I've got the regular Friday meeting thing this afternoon, then tomorrow it's taking DD to theatre class and to a Kite Festival at her school. On Sunday DH is taking her to Horsmanship Camp with her Girl Scout troop, so I'll have part of that day for me-time. Then that afternoon we have a church event, DD sings in that, and we register for Vacation Bible School. Oh, the month of May...that's why I never associate it with the same thing as that song Eileen sings! Hahahaha! Love you all, Cindy
  22. Hi there! Glad to see you around here, again! I've always believed that a vacation is a good thing. Glad you took one!
  23. Sherry, that's one darn cute poem! Hugs! You're so sweet! Kat, you've got a charming little granddaughter...and beautiful tulips! Becky, where in Kansas is your grandson? My grandma lived there until she died last November. Beanie - I actually have a great Faire costume that I've never worn...one of my students and her mom made it for me, so if you run out of time to make yours, call me up and you can borrow it! I have my DD with me up here at school today...she loves to come to school and teach with me. She mainly just plays, and the students enjoy her being here. I woke up with a bad migraine today, vomiting and all...but pulled it together to come to work. I go back to the dr on the 15th, so we'll do some adjusting. I bet ya'll are as tired of hearing about the dumb things as I am at having them. Wish I could figure out the "trigger" for them; I'd avoid it, whatever it is. But, is it stress, food, weather? WHO KNOWS? DH thinks I get a headache whenever I'm about to do something fun!!!! But, that's a guy for you. I have headaches when I'm about to do something yucky, too....or if I'm asleep. I'm staying pretty steady on weight loss, just thought I'd mention it...that means I'm not losing, and haven't in a while, but I am still losing in inches, so I'm just going with it. Love you all, hugs, Cindy

I only saw the last half of the show...and I am not sure that the acctual performance of any night from here on out is going to make a big difference in the outcome, except highlight little flaws in very talented individuals. I believe that the three guys will be the last 3 remaining, with Paris and Katharine leaving this week or next. They are all very talented, but that's how the game is played. I personally pick Chris as #1, and Taylor as #2.
  25. Everything sounds perfectly normal, if not pleasant...sorry about that part. Many bandsters feel the same way you do, but after a few weeks, they are singing the band's praises! Be patient. Take good care of yourself. One of the most important lessons the band can teach you is to have patience, and to look at the big picture. Take a long-term view. Not everything can fixed "right now." Surgery takes time to heal; then it will take time to learn to work with your band and not against it. Thanks for asking for help. You'll get plenty of good advice here! Get better, and take care, Cindy
