With that being said, I don't agree with the lawsuit mentioned by others, that will only bring you down. Get the unemployment and enjoy your extended recovery.

I second the advice of getting caffeine out of your system before surgery since withdrawals aren't pretty. Also the not buying the huge tubs of Protein since I bought three and I liked them before surgery, but now they disgust me!
Also be your own advocate - I didn't want to rock the boat when my bariatric coordinator told me that she submitted to insurance and not to call her for two weeks since she was so busy only to find out at the end of that two weeks she had not really submitted. She told me not to call the insurance company directly, but I did and was approved within 10 days after it was really submitted.

Halloween - I was starving the moment I woke up from surgery and it may have been from acid, but food made it stop hurting so I believe it was a combo - anyways I couldn't take it after about ten days out, so I started adding 1/4 cup cottage cheese in and it made such a difference. I'm not saying you should go against your doctors plans, but I think it's important to listen to our bodies since we all heal at different rates. I also started soft food three weeks out, I'm 7 weeks out and don't have any issues.

My case wasn't as bad, but I waited the two weeks after the doctors office had submitted only to call and find out that they had forgotten to submit. I threw a temper tantrum (by myself) and then sucked it up and waited another two weeks for the real submission.
I'm a month out from surgery, but I still can't even look at the girl who lied to me when I go to the office. I was going to complain but was afraid it would mess about my surgery/billing somehow.

I think all the hormones being released as we lose weight combined with the need to find something to file the void of emotional eating might be behind some of the snarky posts.

I think it has a lot to do with height also. We aren't comparing apples to apples if one person is 5'4 and the next is 5'7.

Hi all!
I am in the waiting phase for approval to get the gastric sleeve - I struggle with depression and have since childhood. I have also been obese since childhood. My question is for those who have had depression and are now post surgery - after the initial excitement of weight loss after the surgery, did you find that at your goal weight your depression was gone or lessened? Or that it was the same and not truly linked to the weight?
I asked my therapist/ doctor and it seems like no one is sure or knows any statistics.

Yes! I am July 24th also. I just started my liquid pre-op diet today. I'm starving and can't wait for July 24th to be here already!

I noticed quite a few July 24th sleevers out there! I'm set for that day too, exact time TBD on Monday the 14th. This has been a long few months in the making, that is for sure.

I think some people may be overreacting here, I think the message came from a good place. Some people may not like the delivery, but I did and that's why I joined this forum to see a wide variety of people expressing themselves.

Tamlyn - I use to work in San Diego and my former bosses wife works for the federal government - they told her that she should not enter Mexico because state/federal employes are targets for kidnappings. I'm not sure how strict they would have been had she decided to go into Mexico though.
