  1. I just had my 4th fill today. I now have 6ccs in my 10 cc band. I definitely feel restriction now. I'm having to drink a lot slower than normal. Hopefully this one did the trick! I just hope it last longer than a week this time. lol
  2. Let's see..........I love to sing. I sing at local events, weddings, and at church. I also like to paint, mostly contemporary trees. I love Natasha Westcoats' work. I've painted a couple that have been inspired by her. I love music too, and I listen to all kinds of music. Everything from Natasha Bedingfield to Akon to Hinder. My favorite song (right now) is "Better than Me" by Hinder, I love it!!! I've been married now for 8 years and I have a son that's almost 2 years old. I guess that's pretty much it for now!
  3. I have the same problem. If I buy pants from there, I have to get petite. It's funny because when I was thin, I never had to buy petite. Hopefully after losing all this weight, I won't have to buy petite anymore. Interesting............you know, Moultrie isn't all that big.....it's possible I might know him. Where are you from?
  4. Jeannie- I'm so glad I am feeling some restriction. I'm really having to sip my liquids right now. I'm sure it will relax some in a few days. I like being tight, I don't always make the best food choices and this way if I eat something bad, at least I'll only be able to eat a little. lol Mia- Congrats on the weight loss, you're doing great! Maybe I can ease your mind a little on the fills. I had a talk with Elizabeth today and expressed my concerns about not hitting my sweet spot yet. She seems to think we are very close. She was telling me about a doctor from Australia (he is one of the best lapband surgeons in the world). He has had the lapband for over 8 years, which is longer than it has been legal here. He said that once you hit your sweet spot, you won't need another fill for probably 6-8 months or even longer for some. I was relieved to hear that. Apparently, over time, some of the Fluid can evaporate from the band and you'll have to have it topped off now and again. Hopefully this helps to ease your mind. I really don't think you will need more than 6 fills a year.
  5. This was my 4th fill and I definitely feel some restriction since my fill. I'm having to slow down on my liquids. I have a total of 6ccs in my band now. I told Elizabeth today, that I usually feel restriction for a few days and then it is gone. She told me not to worry, that until we hit my "sweet spot" it would be that way. I was worried I might have a leak or something. She said that if we don't get to my "sweet spot" soon, she will withdraw the Fluid to make sure there is no leak. I'm hoping this fill will do the trick. I tend to lose in spurts as well. I don't know why, but I've read that a lot of bandsters lose this way. I only lost 2 lbs since December 20th. At least I didn't gain. lol
  6. You guys look great! What an inspiration!
  7. I live in Moultrie. When I used the store locator on the website, it said the closest one to Moultrie in is Dothan Alabama. I went to Lane Bryant today after my fill. I tried on some bras, but honestly, they were not much better than the one I got at Walmart. Since the ones at Walmart are less expensive, I'll just go back and get a few more there. I did end up buying some clothes at Lane Bryant though. They had a huge sale going on.
  8. Hey ugagirl, I'm from Georgia too. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! Good luck and hope everything works out well for you!
  9. We'll make sure we chose somewhere that has a good variety of soup for you. Good luck with the surgery coming up!
  10. I get my fills in Albany at the Obesity Treatment Center by Palmyra Hospital. I've never heard of this lady that's going to do your fills. Is she a nurse, where does she work? How far is Dublin from Moultrie?
  11. Well, guys, I'll probably be doing the shakes for another few days. I go today for a fill, so its liquids for 3 days. How lucky am I? lol
  12. Mia, I posted on the Albany GA thread about meeting on Feb. 7th. It hit me after I posted that your surgery was that day. Jeannie wasn't able to make it that day either.
  13. Oh, I go for another fill tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed that this is "the one". Thanks everyone!
  14. Mia, you are getting banded on the 17th, right? Why don't we just wait until Feb. 7th to meet. Then if that is okay with everyone else, we will meet on the 1st Thursday of every month. Is that okay with everyone? Mia, you are doing great with the pre-op diet, keep up the good work!
  15. Congratulations, that's great. I know you are going have such a positive impact on these kids' lives. We need more people like you in this world.
  16. I added a little bit of coffee to my vanilla Cream shake, along with some ice, I blended it all together and it was really good. I like to switch things up because I tend to get tired of the same ole' thing all the time. Even if this doesn't break my cravings for sugar and carbs, I've learned a lot about REAL hunger. We need to eat to live, not live to eat. Thanks for getting this started.
  17. That's great to hear! Sounds like you'll be banded before you know it, hope everything goes well. Keep us updated on your progress!
  18. >Unless someone else can think of another restaurant, here is our choices: Cracker Barrel Applebee's Longhorn Red Lobster Tokyo (Japanese) Ruby Tuesdays Loco's Moe's Southwest Grill Los Compadres I've never been to Loco's, Moe's Southwest Grill, or Los Compadres, so I don't know what kind of food they have at those places. I assume Los Compadres has the typical mexican style food. So, what do you guys think, where do you want to meet? If we meet this month, it would have to be on the 17th. If we decide to meet next month, it would be the 7th or the 21st. Which is better for everyone? I'm so excited to get this support group going! Thanks for all your cooperation guys!
  19. Hey Ang1982! Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! It will be here before you know it. Good luck to you and it's nice talking to you.
  20. Exactly. I think I was so used to feeling stuffed (pre-band), and that's what I was expecting- that stuffed full feeling that I was so used to. When I stop and really think about it, I know I've been dealing with head hunger and not actual physical hunger. This has really been an eye opener for me.
  21. Thought it might be good to have a common thread where everyone could introduce themselves and chat. I am 27 years old and I was banded 9-20-07 by Dr. Bagnato in Albany, Ga. I've had a pretty good experience so far, with no complications. I'm losing weight and keeping it off for the first time in years. I can't wait to meet everyone and hear your stories!
  22. 100 lbs in 5 months is AMAZING!!!! Please share with us what you are doing!
  23. I just finished my 2nd shake of the day. I was surprised that the first one lasted so long. I promised myself that I would only drink one when I was hungry. This has really made me examine the whole head hunger thing. I even exercised, YEA ME!!!!
  24. Hey Mandi I've been feeling the same way. Cutting the sugar and carbs is sooo hard. I joined in on the no carb for 2 days thread and I feel better already. We started today but you can always start fresh tomorrow. I'm hoping this will help me with the cravings. After I finish the 2 day challenge, I'm going to cut out all sugar and keep it low carb for a while. Here's the link to the thread if you want to join in! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f15/say-no-carbs-2-day-challenge-come-join-me-48654/
  25. mooselll I got a Nordic Track Elliptical after thanksgiving and I just started back using it again. Exercising will really help, but don't go overboard, you're only 3 weeks post op, just be careful.
