  1. Thank you mich! I really appreciate that. She may not have had success with the oxygen at the hospital if the flow rate wasn't high enough. It needs to be a minimum flow rate of 15 lpm. I've read that 25 lpm works the best, but most doctors start prescribing at 15. If she starts having them again, I'd say it would be worth a try. I'd much rather use the oxygen as an abort, rather than the imitrex shots. Thanks again for the reply! Hope your mom stays pain free for a looonnngg time!
  2. Hi mich! Thanks for sharing that. It is a really bad illness that I didn't even know existed. I have heard that lithium works well for many and also a drug called verapamil, which is a blood pressure medicine, I think. Hopefully the Prednisone will break my cycle. If not, it's on to a different med. Did your mom every try high flow oxygen therapy? I hear it works really well in aborting the headaches. My insurance has approved for me to get it, just waiting on the healthcare supply company. I'm interested in knowing about the vibrating head band. Could you find out what it's called and let me know. I'll try just about anything. Hey heartfire! Thanks for the welcome back and prayers! Sorry about your migraines. I hope your med is working well for you. I will definitely keep posting...good to hear from you!
  3. Thanks gone 4 ever. I really appreciate the prayers. Hopefully we will find a medication that will end my cycle. Thanks again! Thanks luluc! I've missed you too! Hey Suzanne! I haven't had a chance to read all the c25k posts. I skimmed through and saw a lot of new people. I am sorry your foot is not healing right. I know what you mean about running. I miss it soooo much! I hope we can both get better so we can run again! I have really missed the support I get from all my running buddies! Here's to a great day!
  4. Hey guys! I know I have been MIA for a while now and I have missed ya'll! I haven't been able to run in a while and I miss it soooo much. I've been having a really rough time lately. I've been diagnosed with cluster headaches. I won't go into all the details right now. I posted in the support section if anyone wants to read it. I've been trying to catch up on all the posts and I've missed A LOT! I am sooo proud of all you! Lots of new people joined since I left. Welcome all! I guess I will have to get my running fix by reading everyone else's success! Keep up the good work ya'll!
  5. Hello everyone! Hopefully some of ya'll remember me. I've been MIA for a while now and I decided it's time to come clean. I was banded 9-20-07. Lost 100 lbs exactly on my 1-year bandiversary. I have flip flopped with the same 20 lbs since then. I have been pretty active on LBT until the past few months. I was recently diagnosed with cluster headaches. It's a very rare headache disorder- known as the worst kind of headache there is. Here is a link that better explains if anyone is interested in it --> Cluster Headaches I have been dealing with these headaches for a little over a month now, with anywhere between 1-6 headaches a day. My doctor put me on a steroid, a very high dose and then I'll be tapered off it. I think I will be on it a total of 6 weeks. The side effects are taking a toll on me....even less sleep, mood swings, fatigue, and HUNGRY ALL THE TIME! I think I've gained 8 lbs since starting the steroid 10 days ago. The steroid blocked the headaches for about 4 days, and now they have returned again. I have tried exercising since the attacks started and exercise ALWAYS brings an attack on...even light swimming. It's very discouraging. I am lucky that my doctor knew about cluster headaches, because many people go misdiagnosed for years...it's heartbreaking. Now, I am not blaming cluster headaches for all my weight gain, because I have not been following the rules much lately. food has become my comfort. I never thought that would happen to me after all I have accomplished. I guess I'm just looking for some support. I still have a long way to go and I'm wondering if I will ever get there. I am going to start tracking my food tomorrow and try to make better choices with my food. Thanks for listening. I've missed my band buddies!!
  6. WTG Mac!! That's wonderful!!
  7. Hey Suzanne! I can definitely tell a big difference with this fill. It is soooo nice to not feel hungry all the time! I haven't been running though. We've been struggling financially, and we've had to cut some things from our budget. Unfortunately, our gym membership is one of the things we decided to cut. It is sooooo hot outside already and it's just going to get worse. I don't like running outside when it's dark, so I will probably try running about an hour before it gets dark this week. Thanks for asking about me. How have you been doing?
  8. Sorry I haven't checked in guys. I've been a little down lately. I've got some family stuff going on and I haven't been doing much of anything. I have gained quite a bit of weight. I was embarrassed to even go for a fill, that's why I put it off for so long. I finally called last week and got my fill yesterday. Fingers crossed I will see a big difference. Glad to see you are back Renewed! I've missed you!
  9. CONGRTULATIONS!! WTG!! That is a wonderful accomplishment! I remember when I ran my first 5K nonstop...it's a great feeling. Keep up the good work!
  10. Hello all!! I've been MIA for a few days. Had such a busy weekend. I ran today for the first time since last Thursday. The weather has been wonderful here....cloudy, cool, and breezy. I know it won't last long though. Anyway, I had a good run today. Congrats to all of you who are doing so well! Keep up the good work!
  11. Renewed...just wondering how it's going? Did you get to start running again? Hope to hear from you soon.
  12. LOL...hopefully I won't fall again! I actually ran outside again tonight. It was almost dark when I started running, so it wasn't that hot. I got in 2 miles before I decided to call it quits.
  13. I just turn on my ipod and go. Yeah, it gets a little boring sometimes, but I just do it. I'd much rather run on the treadmill than outside in this heat. I'm looking forward to Fall and will most definitely hit the pavement then.
  14. Yeah, running outside will be rare for me. It's supposed to be back up to about 86-87 tomorrow. I do not like summer...too hot for me. I'm already ready for fall.
  15. WTG Carol!! The weather here was soooo nice and cool this afternoon, so I decided to run outside. I know, not the best idea considering my track record right? It went well though. I didn't fall or even stumble, lol. I forgot how different it was to run outside. Much harder with the hills. Anyway, I won't do that very often because it is usually sooooo hot here.
  16. I really wanted Tara to win *pout*. Helen did a great job, but I have to agree....she looked too thin for her age. Tara looked so beautiful and healthy! Mike looked good too. I hope he can help his brother lose weight now...
  17. HOT MAMA!!! You look GREAT! Both dresses are beautiful. You look so young and hip in the ruffly dress. Congrats on your success...you look beautiful!
  18. Hey everyone! DH and I went to the gym this afternoon and I got a run in. My back is doing pretty good so far. I ran really slow and took it much easier than normal. I ran 2.2 miles....YIPEE! I'm so glad to be moving again!
  19. Wow...that's GREAT Kathy!! You should put that dress back on and get hubby to snap a picture for you to post. We want to see you in that hot red dress! So glad you posted! We are in the same boat....as always, lol. I've gained quite a few pounds myself. I just can't seem to get motivated. Maybe we can help motivate each other. I'm so glad you are posting again..I've missed you! That is wonderful!! Best of luck to you! Well, my run was a no-go. I had planned on running after DH got off from work, so he could stay with my son. Well, my mom and dad called and wanted my son to spend the night with them, so we had a date night. That is rare, so we took advantage of it! I will shoot for tomorrow!
  20. Thanks. My back actually feels really good today. I called the chiropractor today and told him how well I was doing. He said I could try running tomorrow and see how it goes. He just said to take it really slow and to stop if I was feeling any pain. I think I will lay off the sprints for a while and just jog a steady, slow pace. I'm excited to get going again.
  21. Heehee! I don't even bother wearing high heals...I'm clumbsy enough in flats, lol. BTW, black is cool!
  22. Thanks. I may have to give it a try!
  23. Hey Lyn! It's been so long! I'm glad you love your job! Sorry about your ankle though. I hope you heal quickly. Take it easy and don't worry about your stamina. If I remember correctly, you did really well with the c25k. I'm sure you be running like a pro again in no time. Good to hear from you! I have some good news...my back is beginning to feel better! YAY!!! I guess my hip was the problem and hopefully he fixed it. I feel A LOT better than I did when I woke up this morning. I'm hoping to be active again in couple of days!!
  24. I don't know if Jillian is gay or straight and I really don't care. It's her business. But just because Daniel says she's gay, doesn't mean she is...at least to me it doesn't. Who cares...she ROCKS! I'd love to have her body btw! For ONCE, I was proud of Ron. I still don't like him, but I commend him for finishing the marathon and pushing through the pain. Gotta give him props for that. I thought about voting for Ron, just so Tara or Helen win, but I just couldn't do it. Althought I don't care for Mike all that much either, he deserves to be in the finale. I'm still hoping Tara wins! She did so good in the marathon.
  25. I had the same problem when I started. I couldn't finish the first day of c25k...I just kept at it until I got through it. You may need to repeat days and weeks like I did. I didn't move on until I was ready. It took me a little longer than most, but eventually I got there. You can do it!! Just keep at it!!
