Gained A Lot of Weight Back
You are not alone. I was banded in Sept. 07 and had 100 lbs on my one year bandiversary. I plateued after that and pretty much stayed the same. I was put on a steroid a few months ago and I gained 30 lbs while on it. I developed some of my old eating habits during that time and it's been hard to get back on track. I've been back on track for a couple of weeks now and managed to lose 10 lbs back. It's a daily struggle, but my mind is set to finish this. You can do this. Take it one day at a time and choose to get back on the bandwagon! Good luck to you!

Salsa Pumpkin Soup!
I bought a cook book over the weekend called Hungry Girl. This girl makes all our favorite recipes in low calorie, low fat versions. I made the salsa pumpkin Soup for lunch today and it was DELISH! So, here it is... Ingredients 4 cups fat-free chicken or vegetable broth One 15-ounce can pure pumpkin (I used Libby's) One 15-ounce can black Beans, drained and rinsed 1 cup canned sweet corn kernels 3/4 cup salsa 1 tablespoon minced garlic (I used a little garlic powder instead) 1 teaspoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin Directions In a medium pot, bring broth and spices to a simmer. (if you are using the minced garlic, spray the pot with a little cooking spray and cook garlic for a minute before adding broth and spices). Add pumpkin and mix well. Add remaining ingredients, stir, and bring soup to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Enjoy! Makes 4 very generous servings! (I would guess 1.5 cups or so, maybe even a little more) Per Serving: 177 calories, 1g fat, 991mg sodium, 35g carbs, 8.5g Fiber, 8g sugars, 9g Protein

Hey Suzanne! That was Carol's purse that got stolen with her son in the car. I did post that mine got stolen a few years ago though. Thank God no one was in the car when it happened to me. How's the foot? Still hanging in there?

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
I keep asking them about that and they don't seem real concerned about it. I had not been in about 3 months. It's weird because when I had it checked 3 months ago, it was all accounted for. Sometimes fluid is missing and sometimes it's not. IF I have a leak, it must be a pretty slow one. Or, there could be a leak at the port area and maybe all the fluid isn't actually going in. Uggghh, I don't know. She said they would start checking it every month and if it ever starts being more than 1 cc missing, they want to do some tests. It's frustrating because I don't think I've ever had TRUE restriction. This fill seems like the closest I've had to it, but I don't know...

September Exercise Challenge
Ebony, I am same way with carbs. I blame it on the PCOS. I've always lost better while watching my carbs. I don't count carbs anymore, but I've started really watching them and trying to eat only good carbs since my fill. I've lost about 6 lbs since MOnday. I'm sure most of it is Water weight, but it's good to see the scale moving again. I have a long way to go and I intend to get there! You are doing great girl! Keep it up!

September Exercise Challenge
Congrats Ebony! You are almost finished with the program! I completed the program a while back and actually ran my 1st 5k in November of last year. I have had some health problems and was put on a steroid for 6 weeks and gained a lot of weight and wasn't able to exercise. So, I wasn't able to do any exercise for a few months and now that I am able again, I'm having to start over from scratch. Starting over sucks, but I am very thankful that I am able to workout now. Good luck with your 5k! I know you will do great!

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Carol- Sorry your purse got stolen. That happened to me a few years ago. At the time I worked at a bank and my bank keys were in my purse. I was so scared I was going to get fired, lol. They changed the locks and all was fine. I'm sooooo glad your son wasn't hurt! Suzanne- Soooo sorry your foot is hurting so bad. Way to power through it though. Keep up the good work! I started week 2 of the c25k today. It went really well. Actually, I had no trouble at all doing it. The weather here was GORGEOUS today! Great day for running outside. I'm really feeling this fill...which I'm really excited about. I did wake up coughing up reluxy type stuff though. I've been banded for 2 years now and that has never happened to me. I had to chop up my pill into little tiny pieces last night and I think I should have stayed up a little longer to let it finish going down. I will take it much earlier tonight! Take care running buddies!! Keep up the great work!

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Sorry Suzanne! I know that must be really frustrating. I'm sure after your surgery, you will heal up quickly and be running a 5k again in no time. Take care! I got my fill today! I was missing 1 cc, but they still do not seem too concerned about it. I just hope this one will LAST! I'm going to wait until tomorrow to run. I've been on clear liquids today and only got 3 hours of sleep last night. I'm POOPED!

Glad I'm not the only one, lol. I don't really know why I don't like her, I just don't. It's just a vibe I get from her. I don't have any favorites yet either though. I absolutely LOVE this show!! I seem to stay track better while it's airing.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Thank you Kathy. We appreciate the prayers. I hope you don't have an injury too. I agree with everyone else, sometimes a few days of rest does wonders. Rest up and get better. First, congratulations on your running success! Great job! Running outside is MUCH harder than the treadmill for me too. The first time I did the c25k, I ran at a pace of 4.5 and eventually built up to a pace of 4.8. My suggestion would be to stay at 4.5 until you complete the c25k and then slowly start working on a faster pace. When I finished c25k, I bumped up to 4.6, then 4.7 and so on. You'll be surprised at how much of a diffence that little bit of increase will make. You are doing great! Keep it up!!

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Congratulations!! Great job!! WTG Kristen!! That is wonderful!! Sorry you have to have surgery Suzanne. What a bummer. I'm praying that this surgery will fix your problem. I am still on week one. I went to the gym today and ran on the treadmill and did some weights. Still no headaches...YIPEE!! It really sucks having to start over, but today was much easier than the last run. My sister wants to do it with me, but she is still sick. I'm hoping she will be able to start next week, so I can move on. I don't want to get ahead of her, so I'll stay on week one for another week.
