Cooking fans... please help (vegetables)
Hi MissK! What about ratatouille? There are lots of good ratatouille recipes on the net. Sounds fancy, but there are lots of easy recipes for it out there.

"More To Love" on Fox Network
Yeah, he does seem really nice and compassionate...but I have to wonder how "real" these people are. I personally would never trust anyone on a reality dating show.

DaVinci & Dolce Sugar-Free Syrups?
I have tried a few of them and I really like them. I've tried the caramel and vanilla in my coffee, and egg nog. I used the egg nog flavored one at christmas time. I just added some to a glass of skim milk and it was DELICIOUS! I got that wonderful egg nog flavor without all the fat and calories. I've thought about ordering the toasted marshmallow...sounds yummy!

LOL...I was thinking the same thing. They need "The Biggest Loser", not this Luke dude. He doesn't even seem all that great to me. Yeah, he seems nice, but a great catch...I don't know.

"More To Love" on Fox Network
I had a hard time watching the show last night. The self-pity crap is sooooo annoying. I think these girls are full of crap. They are all saying that they want someone to accept them "the way they are", but clearly these girls are not happy with their bodies "the way they are" or they wouldn't be crying every time they talk about their weight. I don't know if I can keep watching....

The best protein shake ever!!!
I recently ordered the PB2 powder online and started using it in my shakes. It only has about 50 calories for 2 tbsp vs. 190 calories for 2 tbsp of regular pb. The directions say to mix 2 tbsp of the powder w/ 1 tbsp of water, but I mix it with 2 tbsp of water when I'm using it in a shake. You get the peanut butter taste without all the extra calories.

Shredded cabbage in meatloaf???
Just wanted to share that I made this for supper tonight and it turned out really good! I didn't use the celery seed or the dried onion. I just used real onion instead. And I added a little shredded cheese into the meat mixture. DH and DS really liked it too! DS ate A LOT!

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Thanks Kristen! Suzanne- Sorry about the foot! I hope the cortizone helps you so you don't have to have surgery. As much as I want to start running again, I won't be able to until I'm positive my cluster cycle is over. Certain things seem to trigger the headaches and exercise is one of them. My doctor's appt got cancelled because my doc is home with the flu, so they scheduled me to go back on Monday. Hang in there Suzanne! Here's to hoping the cortizone works!! Keep me posted on how you're doing.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Hey Suzanne. The headaches have reduced in number since starting the Prednisone. I am gradually tapering off of them, but I have a little over two more weeks left on them. I've been having them on and off every few days. I go to the doctor tomorrow, so I'll let ya'll know what happens. Unfortunately I've blown up like a whale since starting the steroids. My face and stomach is SO swollen and fat looking. I look 7 months pregnant! It's really embarrassing because people are noticing the weight gain. I guess I'm in a rut and just praying I can get out soon! Thanks for asking about me. How is your foot doing? I hope it is better.

I'm Back!!
Thanks Kristen! I miss ya'll too! I've been peaking in from time to time, checking on ya'll. As soon as I think my cycle is over, I'm going to start back running again and see what happens. I'll probably start the c25k over from the beginning since I haven't ran in a couple of months.

I'm Back!!
Thanks Gloucester! Hey mich! Thanks for the info. I think I have one of those vibrating back massagers somewhere...I'll have to try to find it. I'll check into the Omega 3 supplements too. I have read that some people believe the climate changes has A LOT to do with it. I'm glad to hear that she doesn't have to deal with them as much anymore. My oxygen was delivered yesterday and I'm sooooo glad I have it. I haven't had to use it yet. I haven't had a headache in few days now and the break has been WONDERFUL! I will report back and let you know how the oxygen works though. I hope it works as good as everyone says it does. I am sooooo ready to get off this steroid though....I'm blowing up like a balloon!! The hunger is driving me absolutely crazy! I thought my doc was exaggerating when he said it would make me hungry.....NOPE! Thanks again for all the info! I really appreciate it!

Shredded cabbage in meatloaf???
Not at all! I tolerate greens fine, so eating it wouldn't be a problem for me. I was just wondering how well it would bind, but I'm guessing it would do just fine. I'm sure I will change up the recipe some. For some reason I can never just go strickly by a recipe. I always add or substitue something, lol. Here's the recipe... Ingredients: 1 pound extra lean ground beef or ground turkey 2 cups shredded cabbage 1 medium green bell pepper, finely chopped 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon celery seed 1 tablespoon dried minced onion 1 egg, beaten Preparation: First, make foil "handles." Fold a 30-inch long piece of foil in half lengthwise. Place in bottom of a slow cooker with both ends hanging over top edge of cooker. The foil strip will make it much easier to remove the meatloaf when it's done. I also put a piece of crumpled foil in the bottom to keep the meatloaf out of the fat. Combine all ingredients; working with hands until blended. Shape into round loaf. Place meat loaf on rack or crumpled foil in 3 1/2 to 5-quart crockpot. Cover and cook on high for 4 to 6 hours.

Shredded cabbage in meatloaf???
So, it's late, I'm bored and searching the net for healthy recipes, and I come across a crockpot meatloaf that calls for shredded cabbage in place of bread crumbs. Just wondering how good it would work and how it would taste... Anyone ever tried this before?

Biggest Loser Mini Meatloaf Recipe
I have made these a few times and I thought it was worth sharing. I was worried that the turkey would be dry, but it wasn't at all! I think the veggies kept them nice and juicy! I have also made this with lean ground beef and it was good too! NOTE: This recipe is REALLY spicy! The second time I made it I only put ONE chipotle pepper (SEEDS REMOVED) in the meat mixture and did not put any chipotle sauce in the ketchup mixture and it was much better to me....especially since we don't drink with our meals. Ingredients For Meat Loaf: 1 small yellow onion, coarsely chopped 1 medium carrot, peeled and coarsely chopped 1 stalk of celery, coarsely chopped 2 canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce 1 (20-ounce) package JENNIE-O TURKEY STORE® lean ground turkey breast 1/2 cup quick cooking oats 2 egg whites For Topping: 1/4 cup fat free and sugar free ketchup 1 tablespoon chipotle pepper adobo sauce 1 tablespoon brown sugar substitute (such as Splenda® Brand) Cooking Directions Preheat oven to 350°F. In the work bowl of a food processor, combine onion, carrots and celery. Pulse until finely chopped. Add chipotle peppers and pulse until just combined. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey with the pepper and vegetable mixture. Add egg whites and oats; gently mix until combined. Place about 1/3 cup of the prepared meatloaf mixture into 9 wells of a standard size muffin pan that has been lightly sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, combine all of the topping ingredients in a small bowl; set aside. Remove meat loaves from oven and spoon the topping over each meatloaf. Return meatloaf to the oven and continue to bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until meatloaf is firm and the internal temperature registers 170°F. Let meatloaf stand for 5 minutes before serving. Makes 9 mini loaves. FACEBOOK: Are you on it? If so, send me a friendship request!
I would, but that would be ACTUAL work, lol! You are right, it is time consuming. I used to plant to where I'd have crops ready everyday, but lately I've only been planting the ones that take 4 days to be ready, so I don't have to do it as much.

Hey LilMiss! I've been away from LBT for a couple of months and just started posting again, but I stay on facebook! I'm totally addicted! I'll send you a request. Oh, I'm totally addicted to farmtown too! I've been going crazy because it's been down and I have crops ready to harvest. Facebook will owe me a refund if my crops die! TTYL

"More To Love" on Fox Network
I watched it. I don't normally watch reality dating shows, but I was curious to see this one. I agree that they didn't need to show the girls heights and weights. We have eyes...we know they are not size 2's. I'm not sure if I will keep watching it or not. Part of me hates the whinning about not being able to date from being fat, and part of me just wants to see how it will play out...

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Thanks Carol! I've been headache free for about 3 days now and I think I will try to walk tonight. Saying I'm going to go walking sounds sooooo weird to me, lol. I do miss running and will be glad when I can start back. I'm sure I will have to start all over, but that's okay. On a good note, I'm finally getting my oxygen today! It should help greatly in aborting the headaches. Kathy- Hope you are feeling better soon. I hear ya on the money situation. It seems like we will never get ahead. Living paycheck to paycheck has become the norm for us. We've actually gotten pretty good at it, lol!

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits
Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted. I haven't been doing so hot lately. I've been dealing with a lot of pain for the past month or so. I started having these terrible one sided headaches that had me crying hysterically and pacing the floor. My first thought was....brain tumor. Thank God that was not the case! But, I have been diagnosed with cluster headaches. I didn't even know these type of headaches existed. They are very rare and they are the worst kind of headache you can have. They are unpredictable! I have anywhere between 1-6 attacks a day. I started a steroid about two weeks ago and it has given me some relief from the headaches. Lately I have been having a couple of pain free days in between attacks. I am on a high dose steroid and I just started tapering down. I have about 3 & 1/2 more weeks on the steroid. It's making me HUNGRY ALL THE TIME!!! I think I've gained close to 10 pounds since starting them. I haven't been able to exercise, because it always brings an attack on. It's sooooo frustrating! I went from running 3 miles a day to doing nothing and the weight is piling on. I know I need a fill, but the headaches are taking all my energy and I just feel so BLAH! food has become my comfort! Please pray for me.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Wow...you sound like me, lol! I am a clutz too and have fallen several times while running outside. And it never fails...I always twist my ankle when I fall. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself too badly. Who knew running could be so dangerous? LOL. Glad you are okay. Take care of yourself!
