  1. WTG Claudine! I went back to work yesterday and was banded on Friday the 8th, I too have a desk job which made it easy for me to return to work.
  2. Get well soon, hope for a speedy recovery!
  3. What a great idea! I love naming things...hmmmm...I'll have to come up with something clever.
  4. Kim, I was just banded on Friday by Dr. Ehrlicand he told me that I could have things such as carrot sticks and celery sticks during my pre-op diet to help curb the natural craving of chewing/ crunching on something. Hope this helps!
  5. I'm still not hungry since being banded on the 8th and my doc says to stay on clear liquids for a week, then go to full liquids. Unless you're hungry, I would not move too fast as far as going to the next stage with foods.
  6. Cutie, it's 2.2kg per pound.
  7. Thanks! Best of luck to all the other lucky 8's! :biggrin2:
  8. Welcome to the gang! :w00t:
  9. Welcome Dee!:w00t:
  10. Congrats to you both! Can't wait to join you! I'm going tomorrow! :w00t:
  11. Best of luck to all!
  12. I had to do Optifast (on clear liquids for two days now) and they only had 16g of protein per serving, so it sounds like you'll be just fine to me.
  13. Congrats Shelby!
  14. It's perfectly normal to get scared/ nervous before a procedure. As said before, the staff are there to comfort you and make you feel as calm as can be. No worries, remember, we are doing this to make a new life fdor ourselves! :biggrin2:
  15. Congrats! I will be right there with you in a few days!
  16. Hello all, I too will be banded in a few days! On Friday the 8th. Can't wait to share my story with everybody.
  17. Yes, my doctor requires a two week pre-op diet of Optifast. I have to drink six shakes a day and two Optifast bars a day, along with unlimited CL, SF jello, SF popsicles, broth, etc. I have to do this for 12 days and then clear liquids for the 2 days prior to surgery. Ugh! It's been tough, but it will be worth it in the end!
  18. Hello All, I am Shelly. I will be getting banded on 08-08-08 and i am very excited. I am a single mother of a great 16 year old son. I am currently going to school full-time to become a nurse and of course working full-time as well. So, being overweight all my life, just as many others, has brought me to try the Lap-Band. I was a skeptic in the past thinking that it was an easy way out, but after much research I now know that it is nothing more than a tool for weight loss. I wish all the best in their journey to a new life!
