babs0101, r u still in any pain? today is my 2nd day post op....gas pain!!!!, cramping!!!!! cant get in more than 2oz at anytime

I was banded on 10/8, and i cant seem to get the required fluid in. It took me About 6 hours to finish 1 bottle of ensure, and 1 1/2 days to drink h2o(8oz).and i could only manage to get it about 2 oz of broth in. is anyone else going through similar stuff? iam still in a great deal of pain!!!

well my date was moved from the 9th of October to the 8th of October 2007, it's 2 A.M. i can't sleep, too excited or anxious i guess, ive done everyones laundry, folded,ironed, and put away. i did the 2 dishes in the sink, i cleaned like crazy, prepared my son non perishable stuff for his field trip on my 2nd day post op, i even ironed my post op clothes, well nothing left to do, but catch a few zzzz's. I am ready for the new me to emerge, being a single mom for 7 yrs has not kept me down, rubbing 2 pennies together has not kept me down, mortage, car note, kids tuition, baby daddy, work ,and church issues have not kept me down, my own thoughts, concerns, and worries have not kept me down, loosing EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! i owned in Hurricane Katrina has not kept me down, and being overweight has not kept me down, thanks to God i can take control over this issue and conquor this demon called obesity once and for all!!!!!!:whoo:

Hi MistyDTX, Well at least i know what to look foward to, thx. I went for my pre-op on thurs the 4th, wow, i didnt expect so many people in the waiting room,Dr. Carter had a band aid on his neck on thurs i was wondering what that was for, now i know. How r u progressing? i hope your pain has subsided( i can't spell either LOL,LOL) have you weighed yourself yet? Well thanks for the info,keep in touch

If i get rescheduled one more time i'am going to scream, i was scheduled for the 25th of Sept, then the 9th, of Oct, now The 8th of Oct, i won't even tell you how many times the surgery time has changed, but the important thing is iam still scheduled, so i praise God for that. i'am excited, not nervous at all, hmmm am i too confident? I have been lurking around this site for weeks now and i've noticed that everyone is on sugar free everything, i have my pre-op tomarrow( banded on 10/9/07) and as of yet i have not been told i could not consume sugar, until i read it on this site. Can anyone give me info on this please? Sugar for me is like a cigarette for a smoker( hmmm, probably the reason i need to be banded in the first place...lol,lol) :faint:

Well i have 6 days to go, I have my pre-op appt tomarrow with Dr.Carter in arlington,TX. Today like many others have been boaring.I have so much on my mind, i can't wait to have my surgery done, and start to see the fruits of my labor. Today's Prayer: Lord I pray for your help today, i need you Lord, and i can't do this without you, you are my rock, my strength, my shield, and my fortress,deleverer, strong tower, my very present help in time of need, Lord according to your word "my God shall supply all my needs, according to his riches and glory which are in Christ Jesus"( Phil 4:19). Lord i lay all my burdens down tonight, and i pray, i leave them there for you father, i lay down my issues with my mortage, and pray you father ,take control of this situation, and manifest your glory, Lord i lay down my financial issues, and my lonliness, and pray father for the strength to leave it at the altar, Lord. I surrender all father, all to you do I owe, you have it all in your hands, bless me Lord indeed, and enlarge my territory.I love you Lord, I adore you, I lift your name on high, I magnify your name,glorify your name, and honor your name, in the mighty, matchless name of Jesus....Amen:help:

Dear MistyDTX, I'am sorry you are uncomfortable, but this too shall pass, I was so glad to see your post, I actually logged on so i could check on you, My day is Tues Oct 9th with Dr. Carter. I will be praying for your relief and outstanding weight loss....CONGRATS!!!!!!

WOW !!!!! I read your entire journal....Thank you for being bold enough in the Lord to share your personal struggle, and victory in loosing weight...your journal, before, and after pics have really encouraged me. I'am scheduled for Oct 9th(in Dallas,TX)I've started my own journal and I only aspire to inspire someone else this time next year. I'am truly thankful to God for his mercy, and his grace for keeping me, and answering me when I call. WLS has been my prayer for 2 years, and God in his infinite wisdom has allowed me to be approved in the right time, and season!!!! ..to GOD be the GLORY.

Well , I 've never done this before but ok........where do i begin? I tried to have a gastric bypass in 2005, long story short i was denied....... after my friend Hurrican Katrina kindly asked me to move out of Louisiana, i found myself in Texas, well i was able to transfer my job to TX, God allowed me to buy a house, and i have been blessed beyond measure. In December of 2005 i switched my ins co to blue cross blue shield(for federal employees)i never thought again of a bypass, even though the weight was adding up, in January of 2007 while on the phone with a friend she encouraged me to try my new ins co for a lap band, well i did, the very next day i call ed my ins co, and they informed me that as of January 1, 2007 BCBS now paid for the lap-band for federal employees!!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!:clap2: I immediatly jumped on the ball, after 4 mos i was finished with test and documents.On september 10th 2007 my md's office called to say, they were forwarding my "stuff" to BCBS, and i should know within 2 weeks,I took a step of faith and informed the nurse that i was going to pray that BCBS would answer her that week.......on Sept 14th 2007 my md's office called!!!!!! I WAS APPROVED!!!!!! PRAISE GOD IN HEAVEN WHO ANSWERS HIS CHILDREN WHEN THEY CALL:clap2: I knew God would answer!!! well iwas scheduled for Sept 25th, then 1 week later i had to be re-scheduled, the doctor had family issues!!!!! what??? iam fat Mr. Doctor... deal with your issues, and let me have my surgery!! but i said okay, God knows best, re-scheduled for the 9th of October.... so iam about 2 weeks away, can't wait to live life as the NEW ME!!!!!!! Dear Want so bad, Seems to me your having a case of "nerves", just plain ol' nervous nerves,by all means don't throw up what you've just consumed, forget about it!!! so you ate something not on your pre-op diet, tomarrow is a new day, start fresh tomarrow, but tonight may I sugest a couple of things....1) re-new your mind.. look at before and after pics of lap-band patients, this will renew your excitment, as well as give you something to look foward too, one day you will be posting before and after pics). 2) re examine the reasons your having a lap band, health reasons perhaps, more energy, what ever the reason dont let a temporary siuation(feeling) cloud your enthusiasm for the life changing decision you've decided to make....... I applaude you for stepping up to the plate to take control over your weight, 3) i don't know your religious beliefs, but I strongly encourage you to pray, the bible says a righteous man(woman) falls seven times, but gets back up.... You can do this!!!! and with the support of family, friends, and this site, your bound to succeed. God Bless.

Hi Mistydtx, I now live in Dallas(thx to my friend "Katrina"!!!!, lol, lol) I will be banded by Dr. Carter as well(10/9/07), can't wait, I have not even met him yet, but i heard alot of great things about him. how about you?

I have noticed that everyone has a pre-op diet, but my MD had not given me a pre-op diet to follow, is this normal? my pre-op is scheduled for the 4th of October, and my surgery is less than a week later(Oct 9th).
