Greetings, I was banded 2 yrs ago, and have lost a whopping 25 lbs:mad:, I do cardio 3x a week,weight training 3x week, I eat small meals,and still only lost 25 lbs:mad: with the band, I have had all the lab test in the world, all results have been normal.Recently I have had acid reflux from HELL!!!!,Iam having an EGD on mon,considering revising band to bypass, has anyone had similiar issues with the band or know of anyone that has gone band to bypass?

Hello fellow Bandsters, I was wondering if any of you have had an increase in heartburn,and a girgiling noise in your throat after surgery, I had no heartburn pre-op, and i've never had a girgiling sound in my throat before, it almost sounds like your stomach growling, but in your throat, too weird for me, I'am 15 months post op, if anyone can relate please advise...thanks

Hi fellow bandsters, I was wondering if any one else has had any trouble with gallstones, my MD told me that I am not alone, and that alot of people who loos weight rapidly have gallstones,his 1st choice is to operate, I have refused thus far, I had a hida scan today which showed that I not only have a totally non functioning gallbladder, but also Gastroparesis..food is not being moved through the stomach in the normal pace..in fact to slow, get this I have not had a fill in 6 Mos, so my band can't be too tight,has anyone else been diagnosed with gallstones or gastroparesis?

Hey Guys, I was banded in Oct of 2007, I've since lost 37lbs, bought an eliptical, weights,T-Tapp, and pilates, I did good for about 1 month, now i have nomotivation to exercise, any suggestions to get my A$$ moving again, if I continue to gain 5 pounds, and then loose the same 5 pounds over and over, I'am gonna loose it!!!

Hey Misty, I had my 2nd fill w/ Dr. Carter on Feb 7th, it went way better than the 1st, I'am sure yours will go smoothly as well, I am down 32.6 lbs as of last week,well that got me motivated, so with the help of the income tax fairy, i purchased an eliptical. The 2nd fill gave me a good bit of restriction, iam still learning to recognize the signs of " IAM FULL" good deal on the jeans.......YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

I was banded on 8 Oct 07, and my first fill was not until 1/7/08 ( doc's rules)...anyway ive noticed that in the last 2 days i've had a burning cramping feeling around my band area,and yeaterday it was accpmpanied by a burning sensation in my throat, so bad i left work early, its fine if iam not eating, but after i eat, the pain is there for at least an hour. Has anyone had any of these symptoms before? or maybe no what it's caused from, or is this the long awaited restriction i've heard so much about?

I was banded on 10/8/2007 all is well, but every since i got the band i can't sleep!!!!!!! I toss and turn every night, I've counted every sheep born,still no sleep,by the time the clock goes off at 5:00 A.M., iam just getting to the point where iam sleepy.......then HA HA it's time to get up:mad: is anyone else having sleep disturbances since being banded?

Misty, I feel your pain, as a Carter patient, I wont be filled until Jan7th,I also feel that's too long, I know all too well the feeling of starving, i can eat a regular combo at jack in the box, that scares me!!! i lost 18lbs, but i've gained 4 of it back,i'am gonna ask to be filled sooner, it should not matter, according to Carters office my ins co has a hard time paying for fills ( BCBS Federal) so i have to pay for fills and hopefully get refunded by my ins co.......Drama,Drama,Drama

dawneybyrd, I saw this Doc back in 2005 (pre katrina) i don't know if he's still there,but he was located on St. Charles ave, so I'am sure the chances are likekly, it's worth a shot, hope this helps. Wow !!!!!!! 18 lbs Gone Forever :whoo:, God is good, things are going okay, i feel healthy, and happy, people say iam glowing...Hmmm, i even noticed someone checking me out at work, good thing is he was checking me out before i had the surgery, and even more so now...... i have not had a date in 3 1/2 years( my choice). He is fine as hell too...ha ha ha. Well i am really excited, want to get a treadmill, and eliptical so i can jump start my weight loss, iam almost , kinda obsessed with weight loss now.its about time!!!!!!! first fill Jan 7,2007!!!!!!! my goal is to have lost 35 lbs by my first fill!

I'am starting to get hungry, scared iam gonna eat straight through my band, throw it up, and then eat the band..wow, issues, anyway i have lost 13 lbs iam so excited, i pray i can loose more in the next 3 mos, why is it that Dr.Carter doesnt fill you till 3 mos post -op.....hmmm.Well all in all life is sweet,thank you Jesus

MistyDTX, Everyone is correct, its the nerve endings that were cut during the surgery, some times you never regain feeling, I has a c-section 8 years ago, below my scar is still numb. However I would love to have a numb scar from my port, i was banded on 10/8 and my port is still OPEN!!!, and draining all kinds of fun colors, why don't Doctors listen? I told Dr. Carter this would happen, every surgery I've ver had ended in open wounds.. I asked for early intervention, but do they listen to the patient who is also a nurse........NO!!!!!!!!

Lauril, You are so right i saw the commercials for the Protein Water, thank you so much iam gonna hit walmart tomarrow in search of it, hey way to go on loosing weight i see you've lost about 120lbs, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's so cool!!!!!!! i cant wait to get there, i know i will!!

Hey my October bandsters, Well I can't believe i made it, 1 week post op, i thought surely I would die( not really),it sure felt like it, I am moving around much better, still have port pain, but the gas is minimal. I am drinking, finally after being dehydrated, and i feel tons better, i'am up to mushies .....yeah , and feeling very satisfied( hate protein shakes though..yuk) iam struggling to drink my ensure, or boost!!! any suggestions? i tried blending it with bananas and strawberries...ouch!!! the gas!!! all in all i feel okay, just extremly fatigued!!!! any suggestions( i do chew my vitamins) i tried to go to work today, but i was to tired..well there's always tomarrow.......thanks for keeping me motivated October bansters:whoo:

oooh the agony, the gas stopped coming out, iam no cry baby but iam to tears at this very moment, gas pain, and hunger are killing me, i cant eat b/c i have gas, i have gas b/c i cant eat......my kids are downstairs eating pizza, iam starving!!!!! what have i done!!!!!!!!!!!

Want so bad, its not just you!!!! i really want to cry as i type, i am in so much gas pain, iam walking, and walking but nothing is happening, every time i try to drink something my throat to my stomach cramps up and i cant swallow, i believe i have gas b/c i cant fill my stomach, and i cant fill my stomach b/c i have gas!!! gas x is a joke, phayzyme is not great either, and iam sooo hungry!!!! oh lord i was never this hungry before.....what have i done???????

Praise God, i woke up this morning happily passing gas!!!! i never thought id be so happy to share my farts with america...lol,lol,lol,silly me, i was drinking through a straw, my friend told me i was a complete idiot, and straws cause gas, so today ill try to sip from the cup. Were on our way!!!!!!!
