Numb area on stomach?

I was banded 10/2 and it feels like my skin in numb in certain areas. Does that make any sense at all? I mean, if I rub my fingers over those spots it "feels" different than other areas. I can especially notice it over my port. Anyone else notice this?? Or am I finally losing my mind, I've suspected it was coming for a while now!

Misty,

You aren't losing your mind... or maybe we both are but I still have the same problem... banded Oct 1st. I can feel the area over my port but I have an area that goes from around the bottom of my sternum to around my belly button that was numb and has just recently changed to a different sensation. It feels like the nerve endings are reconnecting gradually and now it very sore to the touch. Not like a bruise, though. More when a numb foot is waking up. So I was numb for about 2 1/2 weeks and now waiting for this other sensation to pass. I brought it up to my surgeon who said it should be gone within a month... so I guess I will wait. Good Luck and don't feel like you are alone!

I have a couple numb spots, it's where the nerves were cut when they go inside. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn't I guess :(

I have a big spot below my port scar that is completely numb and no signs of it coming back!

I am numb a few inches under my port, but this is from a tummy tuck that I had a few years ago. I never did get the feeling back in my lower abdoment or left upper thigh. No big deal though...I don't need to feel anything there!

MistyDTX,

Everyone is correct, its the nerve endings that were cut during the surgery, some times you never regain feeling, I has a c-section 8 years ago, below my scar is still numb. However I would love to have a numb scar from my port, i was banded on 10/8 and my port is still OPEN!!!, and draining all kinds of fun colors, why don't Doctors listen? I told Dr. Carter this would happen, every surgery I've ver had ended in open wounds.. I asked for early intervention, but do they listen to the patient who is also a nurse........NO!!!!!!!!
