I had surgery May 14th and I have lost 41 pounds and quite a few inches. I have had a couple of stalls but it eventually kicks back in. Are you tracking your food? Drinking enough fluids? Slow and steady! Hang in there

The only accurate food commercial I've ever seen was the one for Sub Way where people are taking bites of hamburgers ans breaking through hammocks, chairs, Water floats and snapping diving boards in half LOL.

I noticed the same thing. It seems like every other commercial is for pizza Hut or KFC. I just change the channel. Having said that. It did open my eyes to just how much of my hunger was head hunger, because I am anthying but hungry..... until those commercials come on. I also used to watch all those shows on the food Network. Those have made me hungry too. I will no longer watch that network. I might even remove the channel from my DirecTV guide choices.

Hi I am in my third week today and the only people I told was my boyfriend and my two daughters and I have their support and I have six siblings the reason I did not tell them is because of the gossip and negative comments, even though we say we are not going to let what they say bother us it do , so I know I did not want it to hamper my healing, I told them I had a hernia repair after the surgery. So don't let them put u down cuz they will never understand unless they have to live with being heavy and struggle everyday. God bless and congratulation on the new you .

I Was sleeved Monday June 9th. I have to say I am one of the lucky ones so far. I had no nausea, no vomiting and minimal pain. That all may sound good but I am having trouble mentally and emotionally. It seems like everywhere you turn there's something that has to do with food. I'm trying to stay strong. This to shall pass. On a good note I am down 12 pounds from the morning of surgery. WOOT WOOT!!

Just went through that this weekend. Had my follow up yesterday and all is well. The doctor said to take it easy on my walks, don't rush it. Said they reallt dug around during surgery so the soreness is normal. Also told me to add some Fiber to my liquids to get things "moving" cause Constipation messes with the abdomen (bloated, etc). I feel a lot better today.

Stalling at three weeks out from surgery is completely normal so don't worry about that.
For pureed food, take meat you like, puree it with a sauce you like (NOT Water or broth, gross and tasteless) and then heat it up in the microwave maybe with a little cheese melted on top. It will taste just like a casserole. What you make depends on what you like. But here are some that were favorites for me:
Thai spicy tuna with Sriracha sauce and pepper jack cheese
Lemon dill salmon with tartar sauce
Shrimp with buffalo sauce or remoulade
Ground beef with low carb BBQ Sauce and cheddar cheese
chicken with marinara sauce and mozzarella
Ranch flavor tuna with ranch dressing and swiss cheese
Sweet & spicy tuna with chipotle bbq sauce and a Laughing Cow Chipotle Queso Fresco wedge
Turkey with peanut satay sauce and jack cheese
I mostly just used meat from the little packets and cans that comes already cooked and flavored and just needs to be heated up. Stuff like the Starkist tuna packets. For beef I just used frozen precooked burger patties.
I did a lot of poached eggs on top of refried Beans with salsa, cheese, etc.

I'm four weeks post surgery, down almost 20lbs since surgery day. I feel almost normal, it's awesome. I can eat whatever I want (but don't because, seriously, bread & Pasta just fill me up without any protein). I stick to Protein and veg and Protein Shakes.
I can drink Water but only with a LOT of Ice (or it makes me nauseous). I can gulp 3-5 gulps at a time.
Eating is still trial and error... I think I'm not done and then I'm too full and it's uncomfortable.
I quit my antacid pills last week and I haven't needed them.
My energy is normal, I have no pain anywhere.
My total weight lost since 4/8 is almost 30lbs and two ladies in the lunch room noticed today, which was nice :-)
I just thought I'd give a little update to those of you about to have surgery or at the very beginning :-)

I am a 5/14ther and I am down 12 pounds. Funny as a woman i started at the same weight but I am 262 today. I feel awesome. My incisions are still sore and my belly is still swollen some but I am walking 40 min a day. Having a hard time with Protein. I am tired of the sweet taste. I am really excited about the weeks to come.

I will NEVER go back to being over 200lb and that makes me soooo happy I can't wait to hit my next goal im still getting used to my sleeve and understanding it but I love it♥
