Karen - Dr V will probably not fill you becuase you are lossing weight and staying full for the 3 hours and keeping your meals around a 1 cup. I just got a little one last week becuase everything was where it needed to be except my weight loss. So the .1 he put in made a huge difference for me. I have already lost 3 pounds. Finally putting just over 90 pounds. So I think personally I would stay where you are and try it for another 3 - 6 weeks. You know he will see you when ever you want. :-)

Dianne & Kathy thank you so much. It was great to see ya'll to for a little on Saturday. Dianne I will talk to Kristy and see if she is available that day. If not maybe her mom could come in her place. Unfortunatly she still has a business to run through the week and weekends right now are consummed with cleaning out what she can of the house. That is far enough away she might be able to make arrangments. Keep me posted on what she has to do and when with the times and I will pass it along to her. She told me to tell everyone THANK YOU from the bottem of her heart. They whole family is just so grateful. The insurance company has rented them a house and there is a website she goes to pick out all her furniture and such that the insurance company will rent for her. So things are starting to fall into place for her and the family a little bit at a time. She has opened an account to put all the money and such that people have giving them so that they can use it when they get their new house. She doesn't want to spend it now since she doesn't know how much the insurance is actually going to pay out and if the furniture and kitchen things will be replaced etc....still so many unanswered questions. We are going to be up that way that weekend...staying with the SIL to go to Bryson City, NC for a festival with the kids. So I might be able to do something...would you mind on if the whole family (DH & DS plus some friends were there?) Oh that would be so much fun...hopefully something will work out.

Oh I have....I too was told to try Benefiber. I have yet to buy any I am trying to eat Activa once a day to see if that helps first.

WOW don't know how I missed this thread. Maybe the fact I don't get out of the NC threads much... I LOVE CHIRSTMAS...Have bought the little man (my 3yr old) a few things but nothing major. I still have a lot of family to get for...so let the shopping begin. Is it too late to join the wish list?

Denika - It is not problem really. I talked to my aunt today as Kristy was out at the house and I didn't want to bother her. They haven't said anything about any certin place for gift cards. She said they still need clothes....so anyplace like Wal-Mart, Target, Khols any place really that they can get clothes from would be great. I am still collecting clothes here so I am taking her what I have to her tomorrow. Thanks again everyone.

Kathy not worries - I can get it from you at some point. My MIL lives in Huntersville I could always meet you there or something to that effect. We are taking the kids to the wiggles tomorrow night so I will be leaving work around 3:30. I am meeting up with Dianne for lunch in Matthews saturday and then heading to Monroe to spend the afternoon helping where I can. Again everyone Thanks so much!!! Telly Thank you for the kind comment. I just feel that this is the only thing I can for them. They need to concentrate on making the list and stuff like that for the insurance. My mom has 4 other siblings and we grew up very close with out cousins. They are more like brothers and sisters. We spend summers together and vacations together. We are very tight knit family. Which I am very thankful for. Again Thank You!!!!

Susan they haven't said anything about what they really need. I just suggested wal-mart becuase they have everything. But Target, Lowes, Home Depot anything like that would be great I would think. Don't feel bad if you can't it's no biggie at all. Just keep them in your thoughts and prayers...as the weeks go by it will get easier but it want go away.

You all are just too much. I received a few things in the mail today. It just brought tears to my eyes. I know you from here but have never met face to face and it's just amazing how a community came together for what is a stranger to you and family to me. Thank you all so very much. Karen and Jill are going to give us old bandster a run for our money. hehe... you two are doing great. Keep up the good spirits and great weight loss. I love the newly banded..... Melissa - girl we all go through the funk. I think for me when I was suppose to go through I started working at Dr V's. I can't go through a funk I have to stay with it and keep it on my mind...Hang in there girl do what you need to do but whatever it is don't beat yourself up over it. Well have a great night...sorry I am not posting much trying to keep up with my cousin and all is really tough. But it's all so worth it.

Melissa that would be great if it's not to far out the way. Plus you could see the office. Just let me know and I can let you know if anyone will be there. We have some meetings this week and some outings so there will be a few times there want be anyone there. Update - I talked to my aunt and cousin tonight. She sounded a little better still sad. The insurance company came and she now has to list EVERYTHING in her house. I sit here now and don't know if I could do it. (so this weekend DH and I are going to start making a video and taking pictures) She has to list the price she paid for everything and then they will depricate it and give her a check to replace things. They need to find some one to come in and demolish the house to start over. She said it's just so overwhelming. I am taking the checks and card to her saturday and we are going to start sorting through the house room by room that we can get to. So I am in for a long nasty weekend. Anyone want to come and sort through YUCK with us. gotta make a little funny. They are doing good over all...considering. They all wanted me to thank you all for everything....they say they feel thank you just isn't enough but it's all they can say. Thanks again for all of you!!!!! I just love this place.

I would have to say even working for the surgeon now - NO I couldn't do it or would I do it. I too would have gone to my car and cried. No if someone ask me about it weight loss I will tell them in a heart beat. Like at wal-mart the other week someone asked me about the cereal I was buying if I liked it. It was the speical k with protien. I told them how I loved it and why I choose protien cereal. They were interested and gave them a card for me and told them there was a surgeon in Concord that could also do it. That is the only way I could address someone.

For the family they had some wonderful, out of the world Pizza. hehe...my grandmother was wanting it and how do you say no to granny. So I had the toppings off of one piece.

I want to look like Vera when I grow up. Way to go girl...that is great. Keep inspiring the old ones and the newbies. This is what the band is all about. It is so important to learn that the band is a tool not the answer. WAY TO GO GIRL!!!!

Ladies I can't think you enough!!! I can't even explain how I am feeling right now. Paula - Thanks the red cross was actually there saturday night and gave them ziploc bags with shampoo, soap, razors, etc..and gave them 130.00 per person to buy some clothes. So they have a start and I have taken them clothes so we are off to a good start. It's so sad...they are all so lost. Melissa - it's ok. I could meet you anywhere...just let me know what is good and I will be there. I went yesterday and I will be going back out Saturday. Unless they call and need me sooner. I think I have my address to everyone that has requested it if not let me know and I will get it to them. Kathy - Are you looking for the 3 year olds shoe size? It's a 9 or 9 1/2...either will do. Kathy and Jill thank you so much. Anything would be great. I took a car load out to them today and the tears just poured. They are from mom's in the area that I am part of a member and they couldn't believe that complete strangers wanted to help them out. She said she felt bad taking the stuff. I told her why if it was one of us that needed the help she would be jumping over hurdles to help us out. It's been a very long and hard day....the insurance man had a dr's appt and couldn't make it out there today. (If it were my house he would have been out there today.) So he is suppose to come out tomorrow to start looking at it. They just feel lost and don't know what to do. So between the flood last year and the fire this year they are truly ready for a new start. Thanks to everyone that has offered to help. I can't wait to take them stuff to show them how many great friends and banded family I have. I can't say thanks enough!!! My whole family thanks you!!!!

Girls these newbies are going to keep us on our toes. :mad: Mike and I celebrated 7 years of marriage today. I know it's not a long time but for someone who thought they would never be married or even have a kid it's been a long time. We went out friday night just the 2 of us which was weird. To be able to eat a meal without having to tend to a 3 yr old. Well I spent the day with my cousin, my trunk was plum full of items from other mom's in the area. It's amazing how a group of people can come together in such a short time and help someone out. There has been so many tears shed it's so hard to be strong for them. Mike and I went looking for fire safes tonight and there is are so many to choose from. But it has really made us stop and think of what we could loss. Alright well ya'll have a great night and I will chat with ya'll later.

Hey Donna it is more then likely the employer excluding the policy. I too had UHC and was approved in just 24 hours also through Wachovia. Call them back and ask them if they cover CPT codes 43770 which is the lap band or 43644 which is the RNY Gastric By-pass. Sometimes the customer service people don't always get things right. :mad: Good Luck...keep us posted!!!

They had over 4 - 5 feet of Water in the down stairs. So in some of the pictures you will see sheet rock they were just getting the down stairs repaired from everything that had happened. So you can only imagine how they feel right now.
