  1. What a great and positive attidude you had...You did very well... Good Luck. Hope your approval is getting closer.
  2. Well your not alone..we went to a birthday party yesterday for my cousins little girl. The cake looked so good while feeding it to my 2 year old son that I just had to have a few bites. Hey the way I look at it...a few bites is better then a whole big peice like I use to have...I will say yours looks better then what I had yesterday. Oh well today is a new day!!!
  3. You know I have ready on here of people going back 3 days post op. Well not me. I was out of work for 7 full days and then part the rest of the week. I was very tired but was able to manage ok. I know 3 - 4 days would have been to much for me. Good luck....
  4. Wow that is wonderful...you have made my DH and I jealous. Our rides don't look nearly as nice. There is one the end of Aug my DH is doing it goes from Ashville, NA (the Biltmore House) to Lake Lure, NC (where the Water scene from Dirty Dancing was filmed.) It's the "Ride for Kids" it's great... Thanks for sharing and making us all a little jealous.. But we can travel through you. :-)
  5. Darcey, I sure hope you are feeling better. Thanks for letting us know. I would say you have a great doctor to help you out. It's so hard to find a good caring doctor anymore. (I love mine also.) I admire you for keeping up with your new lifestyle. I know it will behard but be strong and it seems that you will have the will power to make it happen. So good luck...
  6. I wish it would have been around when I was 25...having it done now I would never change my mind. With that said...what you are feeling I think is normal. I thought the same thing. All I could think about is what happens if something goes wrong...what will my husband and son do. I finally got over that and felt this was the best way for me to loose the weight and keep it off. Good luck with your emotions they are tough thing. I think if you go through with it then you will love it.
  7. Best of luck to you all.... I was very nervous and excited. Actually I was the worest the day of surgery when I was in the prep room all alone. Luckly they gave me something and everything was great from then on. Good Luck and Welcome to life of a Bandster...I Love it.
  8. Oh that gas is horrible...WALK!!!! WALK!!!! It was the best thing for me. Nothing seemed to work for me. It does go away...I promise!!!!
  9. Hang in there Melissa, that Dove want kill you. You are so right about loosing weight prior to surgery. It can only help. I admire you for sticking to it. Everything happens for a reason..I truly believe that. I talked to (my) Kami yesterday and she is probably going to come. I told her where and when. I will remind her again as time gets closer. I took my first Water class last since having surgery. It felt so good. I am going to do that 3 days a week...Walk the other days. :-) Keep motivated... Hope everyone has a great friday...
  10. Good Luck...one my cousins went through the very same thing. The difference she had alot of stuff for her wedding already done. She is great and very happy now. So hang in there and be strong.
  11. I think you are doing great. As long as you feel good about what you are doing then I wouldn't worry. I do think if you would get more Protein in you would see a big change in yourself.... Hang in there!!! Keep up the good work.
  12. Hang in there Melissa...We are all here to get you through this. :-) Look by the time we meet you will have stories to tell and you never know you might have your date by then.
  13. I have to say I love by band. My husband and I researched all the differnet types of surgery out there. We only felt confortable with the band because they weren't messing with any of my organs. It's completely reversable. One of aunts had the RNY and as already gained weight back. I know it can happen with me but knowing I have the band makes me think about it before I put anything in my mouth. I know it's more work on my end but that is ok..it's a lifestyle change. Good Luck on your choice as you are the only one who know what is rigth for you. My Dr told me that if the lap-band wasn't what I wanted that this was always the first step for me. I could choice another surgery. I told him not for me that I was going to make this work for and it was going to help me loose all the weight I want to loose.
  14. Welcome to the LBT...I to have a wonderful supportive husband but having other bandsters to talk to is great... Again welcome...
  15. I have a problem with our 2 week liquid diet...I talked to the dieticain and she said as long as I get my protien and keep calories @ 700 - 800 I would be fine. That is what I did...they reason for the liquid diet is to shrink the liver. It is earier if it's smaller for the surgeon to do the surgery. I know everyone I have asked had had a couple of light meals. Stay focused and know it's almost over.... Good Luck!!!
  16. Good Luck...I had to be there @ 5:30 also...it was great because I was the first...no waiting. You will be great get some rest and let us know how you are doing....
  17. Alrigth I will be there....probably very hungry as I normally don't eat before I go to the sales..I have to get there to early. :-)
  18. Thanks so much for taking the time to post here. It is nice knowing there are Drs out there that really care about their patients and others. I look forward to hearing more from you. (I was a lucky one my insurance paid 100% of it, it would be nice if the insurance companies would come around more for everyone.)
  19. Melissa, I saw the same doctor you are seeing. What is going to happen is the lady is going to show you pictures and you are going to have to give a short story with a start, middle, end..you are going to have to tell their feelings and why it was brought on. They you will take the test...you want answer all of it. I don't think there was any abuse type questions on it. I do remember it asking if I thought about sex alot. Hope this helped a little....
  20. I would have to second that...I think the reason I have been so successful in so far is because of the support and stories and just knowing that if I ever needed anything I have 100's of people to turn to. Thanks so much!!!!!
  21. Hello.. and welcome to the board... I don't have Bluecross, I just wanted to say hello and welcome. Kathy is a wealth of knowledge....so ask away.
  22. Option 3 is fine...just tell where and when. Dianne I wasn't sure if you read the first of this thread or not but Dr. V said he would be willing to start up the support group again for lap-band patients. It's completely free and when I talked to Bobbi his nurse she was excited about it also. I can get something going sooner if you would like she and Angela were going to do a mailing tihs fall. I can call Angela and see if see can do it in Aug for a Sept meeting. It would run by her or Bobbi..which means they could bring in guest speakers and the knowledge of the surgery itself. Let me know what you think and I can get that ball rolling.... Melissa, my boss said she is going to check on sizes for you but she was 99.9% sure they had those sizes. I get Curtis name brand stuff that is like brand new for 1.00 to whole outfits that are 4.00 - 5.00. In my opion it's one of the best ones out there. Now back to ours...so it's Aug 27th, Ruby Tuesdays @ 11:00 or 11:30? So where is this place....I know what everyone looks like and I WILL BE THERE... I am so excited. Who that is a whole month away. Can we manage. hehe.
  23. Ok I like option 2 because I already have drive all the way to sunset but that is my choice SO if option 1 is it then I am fine with that also. It doesn't matter where we go as long as we are seating, talking, no kids and just plain having fun. I wonder if the Cammie that emaild you is the same Cammie I know. I talk to her every day and she told me about this site. So now I am not sure if it's the same person or not. My Kami actually spells her name with a K but maybe she used a C..who knows anyway I told the Kami I know about the meeting. As of right now she thinks she will be there. Wow that would be 5 of us...yeah. I haven't told her where we a planning on meeting so I am not sure how far she is wanting to go because she is I think about 15 - 20 miles above me. I will let her deceide. She went to Dr. V's office for the support group there, so maybe she will join us. Oh desicions...what to do what to do.... hehe.
  24. Ok the the 27th it is....Are you sure you don't mind waiting until 11:00 for me. You can do this one without me if you want. Really it would be ok. I will be at 77 and Sunset so just let me know where and when...I may need directions. Not real good with that area of town. Melissa - the consignment sale has all sizes...I am just getting to the 2t - 4t side. They will have halloween costumes at this one. I want to say I have seen sizes there @ 12;s or so. I will find out and let you know. Wow we finally have a date...I will let Cammie know today when it's scheduled. Now we just have to come up with a WHERE...Oh no another decision. :-)
  25. Good Luck...Welcome to the LTB. It's wonderful here.
