allielee got a reaction from dazedinks in Menopause & bypass
One of the most amazing things for me is my menopause hot flashes and night sweats have dramatically decreased since my RNY!! I had a complete hysterectomy including ovaries in October and went in to immediate surgical menopause.. What a horrific experience. I had no idea it would be so hard and because I had cancer and a blood clotting disorder I could take NO hrt no hormones whatsoever not even bio identicals . Needless to say I was suffering miserably.. But since my surgery on May 21 my hot flashes are down from like 100 to 1-2 a day and night sweats which caused me to not sleep more than an hour have lessened so much I actually slept 5 straight hours!!!!! I haven't slept more than 2 since October!! What a blessing I just pray it continues lol anyone else have this happen???

allielee got a reaction from Alex Brecher in Why Did You Choose Your Specific Type of Weight Loss Surgery?
I was a successful bander until it eroded .. Last year I revised to bypass . Sleeve wasn't even an option for me. Reason being I wasn't going to have "another wls surgery again" I wanted this to be the last one and my doctor said the sleeve is sometimes the first step to bypass.. I wanted the gold standard.. It's so much easier than the band was and I am wayyy healthier now than I was then. I can eat chicken and veggies no problem!!!!!

what could you be revised to? Have you tried the 5 day pouch test to get back on track? -
allielee got a reaction from jnt1 in Considering the Lap Band!
hi I was banded in June 2008 lost all my weight and kept it off. Started having problems in 2014 and found out my band had eroded. I was devastated. The band was hard work! I was successful but I had lots of fills and still threw up a lot with weird things like meat but could eat a sleeve of Oreos. I was revised to bypass on May 21, 2014 so I just hit a year. I'm doing awesome wish I had had the bypass first. It's so much easier and I'm so much healthier!!! Crazy but true!!! I was anemic with the band but not with the bypass. Please message me for my info if you want. I who used to be a huge advocate for the band now am anti band and pro bypass. Best thing ever was getting my bypass I'm thinner, healthier and happier than I have ever been!!!! -

allielee got a reaction from Pinkgirl1234 in Why do people say Revision patients lose slower
I had lapband in 2008 and lost all my weight 125lbs in 9 months. Did so awesome with it I had all my plastics done.. Then a couple months ago bam I couldn't keep anything down.. Kept getting little unfills no relief and finally had to get the lapband removed and bypass on May 21,2014. My doc said most bands are failing after 5 years. He won't even put them in anymore, he said it's unethical knowing the failure rate. I was self pay for all the above so was very saddened I had to do a revision but saying that omg what a difference. I can drink fluids easily!! What a joy that is lol! I had to gain 50 to be eligible to have the bypass surgery.. What a mind f*ck that was. After being thin and being terrified of ruining my Tummy Tuck. All is well. I lost 20 in first week but have been stalled for 4 days. Saw the doc yesterday to have my stitches removed (skin to tight for glue from tummy tuck) he said I would lose much slower than others since most revision patients lose slower especially those who did well with previous lapband. I can hardly wait to get this weight off so I can fit back in my clothes lol trying to not be discouraged but man I was so pissed this morning to see the same damn number again! I picked it up and threw it lol it thankfully still works just a little cracked. Hahaha

Knife fight scars from your former life as a buccaneer on the high seas...
That's what I'd go with...

I figure if she's asking in social media for advice that he might be more than fwb. If that's all he is then by all means she don't owe him anything but there's got to be more to it if she is wondering what to do. I just don't get the secrecy but everyone is different I guess

I wouldn't lie but would not answer until ready to do so. You don't owe anyone anything concerning your medical health. If he was to ask I would just tell him not ready to be open about me medical surgeries at this time. But assure him you are well and doing good. I had my gallbladder done 17 years ago and my sleeve done almost 5 months. The scares are nothing a like.

I'm not trying to sound mean but why is it that people try to keep this a secret? Once the weight starts dropping it's going to be obvious. If this partner is what you say they are just be honest.

allielee got a reaction from tissiegirl in Face lift on 9/3/15! Last of my plastics
I am getting excited and nervous as the 3rd is quickly approaching. I am having a face lift and a full face laser resurfacing. This is my last plastic surgery.. I had a Tummy Tuck, breast lift with implants, thigh lift and lots of Lipo. I am going to the same doc who did all my surgeries. So happy!!!

. Total cost for face lift and FF laser was $14,500.. I think just the laser was $4,000 but I'm not sure.. 0 level of pain. I honestly never had pain at all. I took Vicodin first 3 days religiously but never felt any pain. I'm a huge baby so that's big lol I feel great!!!!!!! 9 days out
