  5. Okay, I can't pull the thread about fills - that's not my personal gripe. Mine was more on the lines of, "Can I eat pizza? I'm a week out." That post is around here somewhere. I can see the point others are making about the language being different. But, even then LBT has a shortcuts post where you can read all about what pb and sliming are. (Not that it's easy for everyone to find, and I admit that it's much easier to just ask. So, personally I don't fault people for that.) But, if it's not the language/acronyms that's the issue, instead someone really doesn't "get" the rules of the band, I maintain that those questions should have been answered before surgery was done.

Thank you! I didn't know they made stuff like that. I got some sod over the weekend, picked up every fricken white rock and moved them along my fence line (between concrete and fence) and placed some tables and chairs out in the back. It really looks amazing! I can't believe I didn't do this a looong time ago. Now for that spray stuff for the urine spots! Thanks everyone!!!
  7. Yep. :wink2:
  8. Yeah...what she said! That smells of a quack Doc to me. :wink2: They're talking revision? How does that work? Sorry what you've experienced has been so rough!
  9. CarolAnne - I'm not sure there are safer ones. :wink2: This was the one that I stuck with in Sept because the posts here are REAL. You won't find too many people candy-coating things, and sometimes it can be taken a bit too harshly - or said a bit too harshly. But, the over all theme is that you won't be told it's okay when it's not. And, I've had to be recently reminded of this myself - In the Rants and Raves section, which is where this thread is located, it's all out there, good or bad. So, if you're a bit scared of hearing the bad stuff, then R&R isn't the place to be reading. And to add to that, I think the main point of this is that if you're doing your research and really listening to your doctor, then you won't be a target. I get grumpy when people KNOW it's not a mushy and are trying to push it. They stick something in the blendor and think they're outsmarting some-one/thing? I don't know. But, all they're doing is ruining their own weight loss chances. Thus, the rant and rave regarding those people...
  10. I thought a fill was something you got after you ate....? And, there was nothing in the literature that said, "no pizza during mushy stage," specifically. So...I can eat it, right? :wink2: I hate that crap SO VERY MUCH. What I don't understand is why someone will ask those types of questions here -AFTER THEY'VE BEEN BANDED -and not ask their doctor. Or better yet - ask before you get surgery.
  11. I confess - I weigh every day, sometimes multiple times! BUT. I do know about fluctuation. I have a chart in my bathroom where I write down the weight on one day and around the same time (morning, usually before I eat.) It's just been sooooo cool to watch the numbers go down and down. I never was able to accomplish that pre-band.
  12. Thank you for sharing this experience. I am very sorry for your loss, and my thoughts are with you and your family.
  13. Okay...for some reason work blocks it on LBT, but not on your blog. Wow...from running? No wonder I hate exercise. This is gross...not for squeamish - though there are no pictures. Ex-BF and I used to take turns getting drunk at our annual Jimmy Buffett concerts. That way one could be DD and laugh at everyone else for being so piss-drunk that they get stupid. One year, bf got so drunk he couldn't step into the port-a-john and instead his toe went under the ledge and his toenail went above it. But, he was so drunk he didn't feel, and tried again to get into the john. Well, this time he full out kicked the structure over, and grabbed it to steady himself and it and all its contents came spilling out onto the newly ripped open toe. Thank goodness for on-site medical care. That was pretty nasty and ugly right up until it fell off, which was about a week later.
  14. Whoo - hoo Laurend. I can't wait to get there. LJM - I'm really, really glad that my work blocks images! (However, I'm sick and will probably look at home later...)

This site is great. I would suggest finding another doctor, or a support group in your area. If you're remote and those possibilities are limited, then please try to do some research online. You can find good information if you're on credible sites. LBT rocks for that kind of thing. One thing I would suggest is read the at goal posts. The ones who have thousands of posts and who are at goal have the best advice. Good luck.

That's a great point. It's not really the modeling world that makes me grumpy, but the fact that the rest of the world looks at magazines, runways, and TV and emulates it. Rather than looking at it and seeing it for what it is. No wonder we all have some form of eating issues. Mmm...shakes.

I am sorry for your loss. I was "dumped" by my best friend years ago. Not over weight loss, but because she and I took different paths. I didn't see it, but she did. Honestly, I think losing a best friend is worse than losing a lover...It hit me harder, anyway. I hope things work out between the two of you, and maybe you are close enough you can discuss it with her? Good luck.

Can I get fries with that? Seriously...I think that if I were a 10, I'd be very happy. I think within the modeling world they have to be skinny in order to show off the clothes...like walking hangars. I think I remember reading about it a long time ago - where they have to use less material to save money. But, I hear ya! lt's stupid. Size 10 is NORMAL. Hell, isn't 12 normal? I just wanna be a 12/14!
