  1. My good friend's mother was just like that, and still is even after hitting goal after surgery. Her kids missed some good pictures because of it. Me, I have pics- I just grimace and tuck them away!
  2. I'm not sure of the details, but any surgery sucks with kids! I'm sorry that any kid has to go through any procedure and process like that. Shocker alert: I LIKED his music. I really did...then he got weird and I like weird quirky, but insane weird - not so much! And, in all honesty, I wish the VERY best for his kids, and hope that they turn out all right. Oh, Lord....what did you do there? You know who THAT will bring.
  3. Yeah, growing up I never had Your Momma jokes, I always had My Momma jokes. No one out beat me. lol... I am with you 100% on the morals/higher power. That's what kills me the most. They act like they're saving some lost soul who needs it. Um, I'm okay, thanks.
  4. I can't have chocolate near me, either! I wouldn't be able to do it! Yesterday I was craving some junk food and I had a medium shake at Jack in the Box. checked the calories later and it was 910!!! Holy crap. I try to stay at 1000 each day and that was most of my day. So, I had salad for dinner last night, and I was still over 1000, but not as bad as I could have been. If chocolate had been in the office - it would have been sucked down in one big bite. I never pb/slime chocolate - darn it.
  5. ***stopped clapping and grabbed trophy from Serenity, passed LilMiss and commented on her glowing skin and how radiant is she, then kept on running with prize***
  6. I think a lot of the MJ-Hater haters miss the point that we DO respect their opinions, which is why I created a place to bash the guy. I didn't go into their love-fest thread and start preaching, cussing, and wagging my finger at them. What happened to that thread anyway? Is it that the tv/magazines/newspapers/radio/ covers that part every-fricken-time-you-turn-around? I don't like him, and care nothing about him resting in peace. If I thought his kids were reading this and crying their eyes out over something I said, then I'd feel a twinge of guilt over hurting THEM. Not his fans, not his memory, not his siblings, etc. Point is...I don't think the kids are reading this, and if they are we haven't said anything here that wasn't said hundreds of times over in the past 2 decades by the same media who worships him now. I needed a place to get away from it all, and honestly didn't expect people to hate ME for hating him. (Lovely irony in and of itself). But, damn, it's been fun. I like a good argument, I just wish they were GOOD. This stone throwing crap is getting old. Can we switch "yo momma" insults? Maybe that would freshen the arguments up some, huh?
  7. So, an alive one? I think there is a rant on the Senator who cheated on his wife and ran away... There are tons on how awful Bush/Obama is... There is one on Oprah...and Rachel Ray... Is it really any better to bash people who are alive? Are they going to come on here and defend themselves? I know, I know...probably shouldn't bash anyone, but that's no fun.
  8. I actually do believe in God...I just don't like it shoved down my throat. The best thing I've taken away from my own personal experience with God/religion is that everyone has free will and choice is such a wonderful thing! If I die, I really don't think I'll be tossing and turning in my grave wonder what the alive folks are saying. MJ is resting in peace. He's dead. He's either moved on to another time/space/heaven/whatever - or he's just a lump of dead meat laying - ??? (Did they ever figure out where the body is? Last I heard that was an issue...) Anywhooooo. Rita, as for the band - I have a friend in the same boat. She wants the band, but doesn't have cash, doesn't have credit, and doesn't have insurance. Right now she's counting calories, and I'm really hoping she can do it. I couldn't do it, but I know others are stronger than I am.
  9. What does that even mean?! Pass the hookah, maybe I will get it.
  10. Oooh! Me, first! Oh, no...it's not used, is it? Oh, gee. I'll have MaCauley Caulkin fighting me for it. Um, yeah! To quote the wise words of one random poster from this thread: "screw you!" Yes, yes...rot in hell pedophiles. If I pray that they all go to hell, and the sympathizers all pray that he "rest in peace" then what? Does my prayer go unanswered and ignored? Or, if I pray MORE that he go to hell, will that make God go, "All right! Geez...just leave me alone." ???? I dunno...are you gonna get all biblical on my ass? I say, c'mon in...the water's warm! (You can just sit there nicely and polish your "Last Person to Post Wins" trophy before I take it back! :w00t:)
  11. whew...I was worried!
  12. Yes! I used to HAVE to color code my under garments (still do undies, tmi, I know!) But, since I got a proper fitting bra about 6 months ago, I wear only the nuetral BOULDER HOLDERS! They're not the pretty lacey things I like, but oh, well - they feel sooo much better. Now I have to work on that purse strap, since I do carry my kitchen sink in there.... Me, too! I love the "it takes a village" concept. I wish more parents would subscribe to that. My friend would correct my DD and then turn to me and say "sorry". I always said, "I'm not the only influence in her life. I could be wrong - please correct her, and me!" Thanks! I do hate that crap. "I wasn't attacking anyone..." Bullsh!t.
  13. Ya know...between my heavy purse and bra straps, my shoulders look like the back of a horse!
  14. .............................
  15. I'm speechless! What an f'ing brat. I'd send the mom a bill for the $800, and maybe "discount" the first $400 as an accident. Wow...still...no way. Unbelievable. I hate bad parents. Sometimes I feel bad that I never let DD be really free and wild like some of her friends are, but I could never stand bratty kids. The world DOES NOT revolve around a child, otherwise kids will grow up thinking that. :mad2: It's the best! I was going to say woohoo!...then I read below. So sorry! I am also SO over my house being on the market. I hate having to be clean and neat all the damn time because someone may come in and peruse my home. Hate it! Fingers crossed for ya! And, yes...nekkid bonfires can cure any slump. PJTP - I had jury duty downtown yesterday...got all the way to jury selection and was ousted at the last minute. It was a domestic abuse case, and I really wanted it. I can be impartial, I'm not all about hating the man. DH's ex-wife lied about him hitting her. One time he was returning meds to her after they split. She told him to meet her at her parents house and when he showed up, the police were there waiting for him. She'd told him that he'd threatened her and was on his way to hurt her. He was in cuffs while they went over his story - and he had the meds there to prove it, and they ended up believing him. But, if they didn't believe him, he'd have been in that defendant seat. On the other hand, if he DID do it, fry him. So, it's back to normal today. Whatever "normal" means!
  16. I am clapping!
  17. I have seen an emergency vehicle just push a car that was sitting in the emergency lane out of the way. I LOVE that. I wish more emergency vehicles would just side swipe a few of the people putzing along and not moving!
  18. God love ya Kat, thank you. Its funny how many are so quick to throw out bible quotes while looking down their noses on my opinions/anger/venting. If they trully practiced what they preach, they'd shut up and pray. We all have stones to throw, I think some just don't know it.
  19. Soooo....PJTP. It's Friday...and toward the end, and I'm leaving soon! And, I'm freezing! Why, when it's over 100 outside, does management feel it's good to crank a/c to 60? There is a medium people....FIND IT.
  20. :tongue_smilie: No crickets! That's the elliptical "swishing". I've been going each night (not last night, though) to the gym. I've started to do arms every other night. I do reps of that and then do about 20 - 30 mins on either the treadmill or the elliptical. It's boring, though, I hate every minute of it...but I keep plugging!
  21. Jul, I am so sorry for your story. It brought tears to my eyes about your brother! It sounds a lot like my situation. I have an older brother (11 years, by her first husband) and he was heavily into drugs and alcohol. I'm sure he still lights up every now and then, but he has managed to turn his life around. He left VA when he was 20 and she didn't follow him! I move to TX - where she says she'll NEVER live, and she followed me! I'm sure she would again, if I moved away. I can say that *most of the time* my mom isn't really mean for the sake of being mean. She used to be, but she's calmed down a lot. I think she just wants to be taken care of, but doesn't really know how to interact with people. Although, she has told me before that she should never have had me. She was older and she and my dad got along great until I was born. Then, he still wanted to go out and she had to stay home. I think she feels she sacrificed for me, now it's my turn to reciprocate. I don't feel that way - now, but I did for a long time. The other day she was stressed over my aunt's visit and she got so mad at one of my dogs she through something at her. I gathered up our stuff and left and my DD said, "I can't believe she threw something." I said, "oh, I believe it!" When I was a kid, she'd grab anything that was near her and throw at me. Shoes, books, a plant once! She had a temper! Now she's just kinda pathetic. Since I told her being bitchy to me wasn't acceptable, she's been much better. I think I just need to keep her behavior on a short leash and stay in control. When I start trying to be the daughter and put her in control is when things go to hell. She's not a fit parent - never was and never will be. Good luck with you staying strong. Do you feel you'll call them again, or are you done forever? If they contacted you, what would you do?
  22. I'd still be really pissed over the F'er in the driveway! You have way more class and patience than I!
  23. But, I did understand everything you just said. That's a plus. Spelling errors bother me in the professional world...a little bit on msg boards, but A LOT at work. I'm also a little sexist/jobist(?) I work at an oil tool company, so some of these guys left high school 20-some years ago and have so much experience, but no schooling. They're smarter than I am, but can't spell worth a damn. That's no big deal. But I get grumpy at the Admins who types their emails and don't know how to properly use their/they're, or rely on spell check to do their thinking for them. On these boards I'm all for being lazy, since I'm usually shooting something off really quick. I'm NoT EveN sUre How PeOple tYpe liKe ths. whAt aRe theiR fingers dOing?
  24. Maybe CA should add a "celebrity death tax" to their tax legislation. We (the family) had to pay for the police escort in my grandparents funeral as well.
  25. Nah...we (I) love to bash people. I dropped out of high school because I was a big 'ole dummy, but my friend graduated and went on to college, and is now a TEACHER - who spells college as COLLAGE. There are several other incorrect spellings and what-not, but that one kills me. I get emails from a friend of mine and they're always hard to read...I don't even get it sometimes and will type back, "What language is this?" Granted, she has a t-shirt that says: BAD SPELLERS OF THE WORLD UNTIE! I love it that she can have a little fun. Punctuation goes a long way, and not typing in "txt" would be nice, too.
