  1. Noooo, Mely! I can't hear about any more addictions! I have too many!!! But...... what is Wheel of Treasure???? :>
  2. Damn...my friend got back from his doc appt, and he was in DH's office - working on a project and they came and got him. Damn...now I'm crying...now it's real. Is it wrong to take his name plate from the mail center? Cuz, I did.... And, Princess came in at 10am...walked off, came back around 11ish, had lunch, came back around 12 ish and then left to drop off her phone. Left me with a stack of import letters to do. WTH? why are people like that still here, and my friend, who does work really hard gone? I WANT that exit interview now...I will not go quietly.
  3. C'MON....fess up. You just wanna expand your farm neighbors.
  4. Back at work....after heading home for not so much fun times w/Ramen noodles. I also put the hot bowl on the dining room table and took off part of it when I lifted the bowl up! D'oh! Good thing I hate that table anyway! ha!
  5. Yeah, I am feeling a little confrontational right now....I was already typing in my head - and then BAM! closed! LOL I guess it's for the best. No real breakthrough will be had online, and I know that. But, I really was curious - interested in change or not? And, is it wrong to want to flick the little posse fly off?
  6. Too late...Susan closed it.
  7. I tried... I'm dumb, what can I say? Let's see where it goes.
  8. I have been reading the posts that you put out there, and I like this one the best. Profane language isn't what I personally object to, but it's the vulgar way that you have thrown it out there. Would you go into a professional environment, speaking the way you speak? I love cussing, I love it all - but there is a time and place for it. re: getting your banding knowledge from this site - that's not really advisable. We're strangers, many are in the nursing field, but why take advice and knowledge from "us"? I understand that the "hey, do you all have this....?" is normal, but the "I like dick...and did I fuck myself" comments are abrasive and kind of a turn off for most average folks. It comes across as "ghetto", as abrasive, as offensive - whether or not you are those things in real life. On paper (screen) things can easily be taken out of context. When I read the sex and chicken question, I didn't see you as trying to change your life. I read it as you asking for "forgiveness" or "acceptance" of behavior that isn't band friendly. You asked, "Did I fuck myself?" My first initial thought, was "yeah, maybe - why not listen to your doctor?" I don't comment anymore on those kinds of posts because so many people cheat post op, and really - if you're not taking the advice of your professional medical staff, then you're not really TRYING to change anything. This is the kind of path where you lose me. Why get so defensive over it? It takes two to argue, and when you get mixed up in it and start calling names and cussing then others who aren't "in it" are going to take sides, and more than likely take the side of 1) who they have a history with and 2) the person not cussing and acting abrasive & defensive. That's awesome! I applaud you for that. My question to you is, if that's how you feel, why do you throw out "fattie" and say things like "You're still fat" to people. If it's not really a road block for you, why assume it is for others, too? Why throw it out there like an insult, if it's not really one? And, there, again. Your beginning was positive and upbeat and I took as a general curiosity. It was well written and I thought you wanted to really bridge the gap. But, then the ending was insulting. Do you want to really bridge the differences between you and those you have argued with, or not?
  9. re: movies...there are sooo many I wanna see, so I have no good suggestion. ;( sorry. re: empty nest...well, when I started here a couple years ago, she was talking about her son in such a way that I thought he was little. I said, "Ohhh, he sounds so cute - how old is he?" She said 16 and I about laughed in her face. He had a trip to Germany w/school and she went w/him. I think the Army is his way of getting away from HER. re: WTH is wrong with people? TPG - I think if you were The Pool Guy, you'd be okay. Miss thang has a 'tude for sure. What is it with users and the word "pink" in their name? Could she be the other pink from a year ago that kept popping up?

Wow... I see mods are actively viewing this, so I'm sure I don't need to report the name calling. *Heading back to the grown-up thread....
  11. She just got here at 10am...drops her purse off, turns on lights and walks out. LOL No need to check emails or anything - it's not like US Customs is important. Princess won't go. She knows she's safe. I thought a friend of mine was let off because he's not at his desk, and his boss was standing outside the conf room waiting to escort someone...turns out he had a doc appt. I'm kicking his ass when he gets back. On more sad notes: My step-dad had his little girl die a few weeks after she was born. He's 77 and never got over it. He had all sons and when my DD was born he said, "this is the little girl I was supposed to have." It just kills me when I think of that stuff. Lu - hope your friend is doing okay. Is he still online - you still ragging him? Okay, ANOTHER note...we have a friend who's son joined the Army and she cries every day for 2 weeks since he left. She called the recruiter several months ago and tried to get him to let her son "get out of it" and the guy was like, Um...he SIGNED UP. She told me, "You'll see one day". I say, "No...I'm ready for DD to hit the road NOW." Her empty nest is BAD....she needs to call someone.
  12. LOL - actually, I'm rather sick and keep joking about taking bets on who is next. I'm putting $20 on me...I think *other* people are uncomfortable, but it's who I am...if they don't like they can lay me off. And, I'm sitting here BORED out of my mind. I have nothing to do. Nothing. I can assist w/the Princess - who's not here yet...9:30 am, layoffs, but who needs to be here on time? - but she is protective of her stuff and I don't touch unless she asks. Which sucks because she'll only ask when her boss sees stacks on the floor and tells her to ask me. Argh..yeah, lay me off...PLEASE. My dvr is sooo backed up because I've been busy farming on fb. I haven't gotten into Mafia/Mob wars, but the farming stuff is FUN.
  13. Ahh...coffee. 50 calories of cream and splenda, but sooo worth it. 67 folks canned here yesterday and HR has the conference rooms booked from 8 - 1pm today...so more coming!!! Bring it on!!! LOL Okay, okay, there may be a little sumpin-sumpin in the coffee other than cream and splenda. ....j/k....
  14. I had said I wasn't going to watch the more to love show...but I dunno. I don't watch the bachlorette and all that, but I like the skank shows. Maybe watching this will broaden my horizons. LOL re: coffee...I'm waiting on DH to boot his computer and meet me in the kitchen at work. We have such gooooood coffee. Here he is... coffee time.
  15. Ha ha...you said "bend over"... Ha ha...you said "the end"... Which, offends me greatly *sniffs, puts nose in air, turns and saunters away indignantly. Then, goes to create a NEW thread titled "I hate it when people post just to post because it offends me. And, it's all about me."
  16. Saw Wall-E at home, too. Cried. Loved it. lol
  17. Will being a MP fan forgive me of my Knowing enjoyment? My fav is the Holy Grail, "kniggits" and "come back and fight like a man!"
  18. I considered, but DH had to draw the line somewhere!
  19. oops...that takes you to the end, sorry.

    Sooo...no puppets?
  22. I am giggly at it, too. It's my longest thread ever. I'm printing it and hanging it on the wall, with gold threaded matting surrounded by a dark-brushed bronze frame. It's very pretty.
  23. Lucky I'm chasing my wine with water, because I just sprayed my sip back up and it's dribbling down my chin! Ick. Dribble down chin....Hm, another prostitution thread term?

Actually, if the ghetto weren't, in reality, a scary place then people wouldn't be offended by it. Eye of the beholder kinda thing. To us, most of us, to say we are American is a source of pride. Go to Europe, say you're American and it's the same as saying in Bev. Hills that you're from the "ghetto". People look at it differently from different perspectives. We are American...yet America is a place. But I am American. A Virginian/Texan. A Northern Virginian/Houstonian. I can localize it further and further, but the point is where we are from does define us, for better or worse. We can rise above (the ghetto) or fall from (the River Oaks) - and how we act will show others who we are and where we are from - or who we are acting like. You can "act" like you're from somewhere and it doesn't have to define you as a person. You can "behave" like you're ghetto-born, upper class-born - whatever. But, others will see you as they want to, and peg you into a certain group. Fat, black, white...we can't change human nature by changing words. Words are just words and they mean nothing. 100 years from now new words will be in the dictionary, and others will be gone. Personally words don't offend me as much as the emotion behind it. If someone is laughing and says I'm being ghetto, then I laugh too - life is too short. And, the emotion is irrevelant on a message board.
