  1. Alrighty then! Looks like I'll be making my own. Santa will need to bring me a meat grinder for Christmas!!
  2. I know @@Miss Mac the carb thing bothers me. I just went through a bag of the Ikea meatballs. They are really good, but of course there are carbs in there. I'm going to check out the Target chicken ones. If they have carbs too, I'm going to get to cooking some all meat meatballs and freeze them up. Hubs is retired. That;ll give him something to do!! Thanks folks!
  3. Any favorites? Any that your dietitian or nutritionist would approve?? I'm not to that point yet, so I have no one to ask yet.
  4. Hello @@mama0297 You are on a really great site. The people here are so friendly and helpful. Sometimes we just like to lighten the mood and have a few laughs. But this is a great place to hang out, and ask questions, and get advice, offer advice, and be there for other people who need someone to just listen. I'm in Kansas, so not a Buckeye, sorry. But I am done with most of my pre-ops also, and I have to wait till after January 1st, for my insurance to be in effect for me to have the bariatric center of excellence submit for approval. So, I am also waiting. I did something the past 10 days. My last appt with my pcp for my 6th month supervised dr diet visit on 12/9 was a 6 pound gain. (ouch! I know!) So I began eating as if I had already had the surgery so I could prove I could lose, and I lost 10 pounds in 10 days!! Certainly most was Water, but 10 is 10, ya know? So my pcp can honestly tell my insurance co that I followed his diet and had a loss. Hang in there, and it's always nice to meet someone new!! Sherrie
  5. GENEPRO unflavored. Tasteless and you can put it in anything, and has like 30gms of Protein per tablespoon, not per HUGE scoop. I put it in about everything. Can't taste it. Of course, if it was in just plain Water , I bet you could taste it. But I don't think I would ever consider doing that. You can find it at amazon.com
  6. GENEPRO...totally tasteless!! Really and truly!! If I could, I'd buy stock in it, I have told so many people about it. Buy it off Amazon.com.
  7. Epic battle! That is priceless!! 5 year olds aren't what they used to be! Best to you and your son!
  8. Gas-x makes melty strips for your tongue. LIke Listerine melty strips for your tongue.
  9. Love love love it!!! totally tasteless! I've never used it in just plain Water, I bet it isn't great that way, but in other stuff you cant taste it. Tomato soup it's flavorless, chicken broth it's flavorless, crystal light it's flavorless. I use it in fruit smoothies, almost everything to boost my Protein. I've told everyone I know about it.
  10. Merry Christmas and congrats! I understand, I worry I'll jinx myself so I mostly just congratulate others wishing and wishing. All the best to you!
  11. Merry Christmas to you!!! Congratulations!!!
  12. Hi Nikki! welcome to BP! I have not been approved yet for surgery, waiting for insurance to kick in on Jan1! It's always nice to meet someone new! Congratulations on your loss and Happy Holidays!
  13. I have a friend who is 8 months out and 90 pounds down from VSG. She never noticed any hair loss. She said her hairdresser just noticed a ton of new hair growth......new baby hairs. Funny. She never noticed her hair getting any thinner. It may be your perspective. Everyone loses hair, there is a pattern of hair loss new hair growth ,etc. As long as it isn't alopecia, I don't think it should be much of a big deal. It grows back.
  14. The waiting is over for you now, and time for the healing to begin. Have a very Merry Christmas!
  15. I've been waiting for you!! Glad to hear from you! rest and walk and sip (that's what everyone says to do)!! take care and check in again when you're feeling better.
  16. I actually have UHC PPO. My hubs BCBS of KC excluded WLS, so I took insurance out thru my job.
  17. OH! and on more thing, they also told me my insurance is the easiest to deal with and approve everyone. (BMI 40 or 35+ with co-morbids). I think I'm golden!
  18. You all make me smile. I especially enjoyed the visual with the sneezing...bang...zoom! HA!
  19. hi all! If anyone of you have read any of my posts on other topics, you may already know that I have been preparing for this journey for a while now. I got my sleep study done early, and got my c-pap. Have confirmation from the pulmonologist that I am compliant with the machine. I've completed my 6 months PCP supervised diet visits. Now, I'm waiting on my insurance to kick in. I've been in touch with the bariatric center of excellence I will be using, and they told me: More than likely you will only have one diet visit, one visit with our psychologist, and a pre op class. That means, I may be able to get my approval sooner than I thought! Prayers please!
  20. @@Pac-woman You snuck that in there. Congrats for being approved!!!
  21. That is a good point @@Forsythia
  22. hi! Sounds to me like you really have your head on straight. It's all about the NSV's! I can't wait for mine! Welcome to BP!! Lots of good folks here, great support group. I have to wait till January to submit for approval, but I've done my "hoop jumping" in preparation for it. So I hope mine is approved fairly quickly. I hope I have a story like yours!
  23. Tomorrow!!! OMG You're almost there! I'll be waiting for you to hear how you're doing once your on the other side. Sure wish I was in your shoes right now, but since I'm not, I am wishing you a speedy recovery, and ll the best.
