  1. @@NCTRNL my experience there really was really outstanding. The hospital part was great, the nurses were great, the doctors were great. Really, I have nothing but great things to say about the whole experience. And, I feel great.
  2. @@VSG_Hopeful 2 years and only 4 posts? You are a very quiet stalker! Best wishes for your upcoming surgery. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Glad you are here! You too... @@perk4756
  3. @@Rogofulm Making it a game totally sounds like something I can do! I'm competitive to the core, even with myself! Thank you for opening my eyes. It's not about what I can no longer have, it is about what I can now accomplish with what I do have. I am only a couple weeks out from surgery, so I have a ways to go, but you have inspired me today!
  4. Oh! I can't wait to be where you are and need that link.
  5. @@Jnizzi today I accidentally went ahead a week on the diet plan. I had chicken salad that I made with canned chicken lots of mayo and boiled egg. It went down fine. I chewed it to tiny pieces. I only ate about 2 tablespoons of it. But, alas, I have to let my hubs finish it off. I am back to soupy refried Beans and cottage cheese and Soup tomorrow. I'm such a dork.
  6. @@CanyonBaby couldn't use my belly button either. too many laparoscopies (sp) He did it an inch above the belly button. I begged him to not use my belly button.
  7. @@LousPeachy yep. I warned my surgeon, and he laughed it off. He said it would only add 5 minutes to the surgery. That is something they are used to dealing with. And I have had a previous mass removal where I was gutted from above my belly button all the way down, as well as my radical hysterectomy, and several laparoscopies before the hyster. Don't sweat the scar tissue, or adhesions. They just cut them down.
  8. I watered my refried Beans down with Water to make it kinda soupy. And I only do 2 tablespoons at a time for a meal, since I am just out of purees myself.
  9. I've heard you have to "walk" off the gas. Luckily I didn't have that issue.
  10. @@emalou47 It's a shame you aren't able to go to your car for 20 minutes at lunch for a power nap. I swear by those!
  11. mine was checked once right after the surgery while I was still out. No leaks.
  12. Agree!! I did not ask for anyone's "permission" and my husband was not exactly happy about his wife of 30 years having major stomach surgery to lose weight....but I did it. Some days I still have to pinch myself that I actually went through with it. I dreamed of it for years, and now it's done. I'm working through some rough Patches with hunger, but that seems to be finally evening out some. I did it to be healthy...not to be a super model.
  13. You could try going to bed a little earlier, or taking power naps at lunch. Make sure to get a source of Protein at Breakfast. I am not back to work yet, but do plan on yogurt, SF Jello, laughing cow cheese, deli meats, chicken salad, nuts, Protein Bar or shakes.
  14. My surgery was 4/23/15. Love Dr Hoehn and the center! The nurses were fabulous!!!!! (the office staff is a bit unorganized...but consider how busy they are!)
  15. You will do fine...all of you! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!
  16. My sleeve is working properly as of today. I think it was a late bloomer. I should name her something to that affect. lol But I felt the fullness at breakfast. Could not finish my scrambled egg, but I could the other day. (weird). I am getting in all my fluids, I am measuring, and getting in my protein, and I feel great. FINALLY!!!!
  17. @@Foxesoz IKR! I thought the same thing!! I ate an egg today for breakfast though, and couldn't get the whole thing down...so I think it's working now that I am on soft foods and getting more than 30 gms of protein,
  18. @@Alex Brecher Thanks for the tip, I'll bring it up to my surgeon.
  19. Bending at the waist is not the most pleasant. I can't see myself chained to a desk in a seated position for more than 8 hours a day when it hurts to bend at the waist. I have to move more or lie down. Work is going to have to wait 4 weeks for me.
  20. @@Joz31 luckily my weightloss is still going in the right direction. I haven't stalled. But I am hungry all the time. I've been able to eat a whole scrambled egg, with no issues. Friends who had the surgery last December tell me they STILL can't eat a whole scrambled egg. WTH?! Don't get me wrong...I am still eating practically nothing. I don't think my calorie intake is 400 calories all day, and that is with a 160 calorie Protein shake. Maybe I need to increase the protein. I think it may be time. The book says to start increasing fluids to 64 and Proteins to 60 this week. I think I will try that today. I need to not feel hungry.
  21. @@desertgirl_74 My VSG was 4/23. Next week I get soft foods!! I hope my hungries go away!!! I found myself grazing yesterday. I just could not get satisfied. Of course, I grazed on "approved" things, so I was still a good girl....but what if I wasn't?? Then this would all have been for nothing. (my biggest fear)
  22. I haven't seen any commercial posts. That would tick me off too.
  23. I've looked too and haven't found any. Fat sick and nearly Dead is in there though.
