  1. Today was my first day on soft foods, so I was really excited to have ANYTHING that wasn't pureed. I cooked chicken thighs. They were very moist and tender. I also cooked cauliflower ..also very tender. I only had about three teeny tiny bites of the chicken and chewed the crap out of it, and I got the slimes. It wanted to come back up. I won the battle, but it was very uncomfortable. Don't rush it, folks. The liquid and pureed phases are there for a reason. Learning to eat again, is the hard part.....I am finding.
  2. @@erose321 I think it's muscle too. It's low...so nowhere near my stomach or anywhere they cut me and stapled me back up. I think it's from all the walking I've been doing. Cuz I feel fantastic otherwise.
  3. @@FlabbyNat funny you should post this. I am post sleeve about the same time as you, and just started noticing the same thing a couple days ago. It's my lower left abdomen, and it doesn't feel like it's my "innards" hurting, it feels more like muscles pulled, or maybe it's just healing. It's below the bigger incision where the stomach was removed. I feel great otherwise, no other issues. I have been googling it, and it appears to be normal.
  4. @@Joz31 Trim your nails, get a hair cut........get over that hump! lol (kidding....I'm just jealous!)
  5. @@Joz31 hey!! same surgeon, same number of incisions, same pounds lost!! WOW!
  6. @@Jessica Radcliff You won't begin either one till after your 1 week follow up visit. Then you begin the Vitamins and full liquids, (also known as Protein shakes)
  7. if anyone is taking the pain meds just a word of warning....you will become super dooooper constipated! So use sparingly, and if you do use the pain meds, take miralax. I nearly had to go to the ER to remove the blockage. I don't want to get into too much TMI but please take my word for it. The constipation caused by the pain meds is unbearable.
  8. Ok. color me confused.
  9. the A1C test is for diabetes. They should cover that test. Actually, an annual physical should be running these same tests, and thus covered. Even if your insurance excludes bariatric surgery many of the tests should still be covered. Like the EGD. That should be covered, as a test to see if you have a hiatal hernia, etc. It's all in the CPT code your provider is submitting to the insurance co. (and ICD9 code)
  10. @@Gina Humphrey I have United Choice Plus PPO, and mine was approved in 2 days. But mine is through my employer, and yours is through your employer (I am assuming). UHC is terrific.
  11. Chobani has 7g sugars, 12g Protein and 100 calories, Dannon light and fit has 7g sugars, 12g protein and only 80 calories. Both are good choices.
  12. Same here. no nausea, no slimes, no nothing. I've had a very uneventful recovery.....except.......constipation caused by the extremely wonderful pain meds they sent home with me. I loved them....till I didn't. The constipation almost sent me to the ER. So beware the pain meds!!!!!
  13. @@M.E.Flores Congrats!! It won't be long now!!
  14. I like the Dannon Light and Fit Greek. 80 calories 12 proteins!! Key Lime!!!!!
  15. @@VSG_Hopeful tastebuds have not changed at all.
  16. @@NoMoreWeightNJ that would be a great question for your surgeon!! I have NO idea.
  17. @@judyoz Oh my! a WHOLE container of Chobani yogurt. (lol this made me snicker!) I can eat a whole container of light and fit yogurt!! And I was glad I did!! It really does go down pretty easily, and is a great way to get your Protein in. You are NOT a pig. Silly!!
  18. I am doing well. I had no gas pains that others complain about. I got up to walk within an hour of getting to my room. I will say....be very careful with the liquid pain meds they send you home with. This was my only issue..it causes severe constipation!! I am learning each day what my sleeve can handle and what it can't. I don;t move to soft foods till next week. So right now I get most of my Protein from cottage cheese. (and 1 shake a day). My very favorite thing is unsweetened applesauce. I have that for Breakfast every day. It goes down the best. Thank you for asking about me.
  19. the pain meds made me so constipated I thought I was going to have to go to the ER to remove the blockage. Holy Moly it was soooo painful. I used Miralax, and stopped the painmeds, and was normal the following day (after I finally purged myself of the "blockage".....OWIEEEEE!!) Good luck.
  20. @@VSG_Hopeful you go girl!!! I'm still early out, but no regrets. I KNOW this will help me achieve my goals. Wishing you all the best!
  21. I had to have some months logged with my PCP for a supervised diet...no certain number of months. And no BMI history. (United Healthcare PPO)
  22. @@cruummbs Have you had your surgery already? I can't tell from your profile. If so, you will want to call your doctor. Just in case. Stomach pain is nothing to fool around with after the surgery.
