  1. Hi Carol from OH, glad to see your post. I haven't pb'd yet, but I have slimed. That isn't a good feeling either. I can't eat vegetables til the end of this month. I'm dying for a salad. It won't be long and you'll be off your bp meds. Getting off the IBS meds is a start. I'm off bp meds and my pcp lowed the dosage for my thyroid meds. All of these changes make me know I have done the right thing. I really do feel so much better. I weighed in this morning..down to 235. I haven't seen this weight in years. I've also gone from a size 24 to a size 18. I can't wait to go to WV and see my grandsons. I don't want to change too much and then Ian won't know who I am........that shouldn't happen because I've sent new pictures via email. Hope things continue to get better for you! Have a great day!
  2. I was banded 3 weeks ago. Before being banded they told us to expect a 1-2# loss per week. They also said not to expect to lose any weight the first month. Do not fret...the weight loss will show up. You may be losing inches and your body is adjusting to your new way of eating. DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED! Keep doing what your doctor has told you to do. Do not compare yourself with others. Every doctor does things a little different then others. Good luck!
  3. Okay...I weighed in this morning and it was....236.6. I was right , I didn't do as well this week. So now I'm down 49.4 pounds...gone forever...I will not let them come back. So that is 8.4 pounds off in three weeks. Better than none! How is it going with the rest of you?
  4. Hi Cindy, I'm on 1 1/2 - 2 oz. soft Protein now. I'm still not hungry, which really helps. I lost 41 pounds pre-surgery. (14.5 pounds on the 2 week pre-op) I weigh myself on Tuesday mornings. So I have a new weigh in tomorrow and I don't think this week is going well. The morning of surgery I weighed 245....4/15..I weighed 241....on 4/22..I weighed..237.4...will let you know what I weigh tomorrow....:wink2:......I feel good and am glad that I do not have an appetite. I get my first fill on 5/9. I try to get in a 30 minute walk at least 5 days a week. Don't stress over the scale...you could be losing inches. Did you get the Realize band? If yes, do you go to the website and enter your data? I try to enter it once a week. My clothing size has changed a lot. I have gone from a womans 24 down to a womans 18. My head is still reeling from that transformation...I was so excited when I found out they fit! This week I'm taking a few tops to my aunt's house to take them in. She has a sewing machine I can use. I thought I'd be able to get to fall before buying a new wardrobe, but I don't think that is going to happen. :tt2: Keep doing what your doctor recommends and the pounds will start to drop. Keep in touch.:tt2:
  5. How are the April 8th people doing? I no longer need my blood pressure medicine. My blood pressure is now what it used to be on the medication. I feel great!
  6. Thanks Carol! I'm wearing my granddaughter's princess crown! She doesn't usually let anyone try it on! I guess I'm special! at least for today! I'm doing good too! I've lost 7.6 pounds since surgery. I'm so thrilled...I've been walking everyday at least a half hour...I'm glad the weather has been good.
  7. I did the same thing...I would have had plenty of clothes to see me thru this summer and into the fall...I could kick myself.
  8. Good luck Vikki! Hope your recovery is quick!
  9. Glad your home and on your way to recovery. Remember to walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip, rest, rest, rest!
  10. The other day I was sitting in the recliner and all of a sudden I realized I was sitting with my legs crossed, not at the ankle but at the knee. I was overjoyed, it has been forever since I was able to do that comfortably. These are the little things that will keep us from missing food....and eating more than we know we should. Little things like this make me very happy.
  11. My Dr. said no driving til your off pain meds. I had surgery 4-8, drove to Dr. office on 4-10 for staple removal. I was not on pain meds.
  12. May you have an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery!
  13. I hope you all have an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery!
  14. Hi Cori...glad to hear your doing better now!
  15. Hi ladies! I'm feeling great! I had a little bit of gas pains but a heating pad helped that. Every so often I get spasms in my throat. I guess its from the swelling. Doesn't hurt or last long but it is a weird feeling. I have no appettite, another weird feeling. I can't believe my DH and son were making themselves dinner and it smelled soo good but I didn't even care. Didn't want it or anything.....weird but wonderful feeling. I'm eating my pureed protein because I have to not because I feel like I'm starving. I hope this feeling last for a while. We are supposed to have 60 grams of protein a day and I'm not getting it in so today I'm going to go and buy unflavored whey protein so I can add it to my meals. I really do not want to have to drink any more protein shakes. Well have a great day and I will talk with you all later.
  16. My total 2 week pre-op diet, I lost 14.5 pounds!
  17. I'm 2 days post op and feeling good. Like Carol I have no appetite. That is such a weird feeling. I would look at food and want to eat it. Last night my DH and son were making themselves dinner. It smelled sooo good, but I didn't even want any. This morning I had chicken broth for breakfast. I just wanted something warm. I made some sf jellos this morning. For anyone with gas pains try a heating pad. I had some gas pains in the center of my back and used the heating pad and felt so much better. I thought I was going to have to sleep in the recliner but was able to sleep in my bed and get a really decent nights sleep. All in all this was not a bad experience. Good luck to all still waiting for their big day! Keep us posted!
  18. I watch Guiding Light too! I'm right with you on this one, if they do it right they will be able to educate a lot of people. I'm betting the actress already had it done because she looks a bit slimmer to me. I started watching it in the 70's and then missed a few years in the 90's but I was able to pick up on it when I started to watch it again. This is the only soap I watch. There are soo many new people but I love that some of the old are still on or are mentioned on occasion.
  19. Hi Carol, I'm home too! I wonder how Cindy and Cori are doing. I have some discomfort but it's not too bad. The gas pains are in the center of my back and my DH has been rubbing it every once in a while and that does seem to help. Talk with you later, just wanted to check in.
  20. I'm home! Surgery was yesterday about 1:30 and I was home today about 11. I have a little discomfort but nothing to bad. Have been walking, sipping and resting. I feel the gas pains in the center of my back. Not unbearable but you know they are there. Hopefully all the walking will help.
  21. May we all have an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery! See you all on the losers bench!

Tomorrow is my day...I can't wait. I've gone thru the I can do this without surgery talk with myself and know that without the surgery I would just lose weight, like in the past and regain it again. I'm so happy to know that I will always have this little tool with me to help me keep my weight in line. It has been a rough 6 months but I have finally arrived. And arrived 40 pounds lighter,I might add!. I'm am so happy that I have followed everything I've been told to do. Now for an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery!
