Probiotic yogurt?
I eat Activia. I take several kinds of meds & it messes up my stomach. I started eating the antibiotic yogurt because I didn't want to take another pill!! It works & I haven't had any issues.

What happens when you eat too much?
I'm 2 years out. When I over eat I'm extremely miserable & it takes a couple of hours to get comfortable again. I try not to do this.

Need to get back on track. Advise appreciated.
I'm having the same issue - grazing. Once you "fall off the wagon" it's difficult to get back on & keep going. Good luck in your struggle.

19 months post surgery
I'm 2 years out &struggling. I refuse to give up. I've put back on 25 lbs & it's because I eat the wrong stuff. My ability to eat more than 8 oz at a sitting is still there. At least that's a good thing. I'm just trying to get back in the habit of weighing & measuring everything. Once I broke my good eating habits it was a downhill slide. Not a good thing!

The things no one tells you about post op life...
Spicy food. I could eat medium salsa before surgery, now I can't even eat mild salsa. Sad.

Quick and easy high protein healthy snacks/meals?
Bariatric Choice sells a Jello type desert. It has low calories & a good amount of protein. One box gives me 2 servings. I keep it on hand for when I want something sweet. I also put 2 packs of Splenda in the mix because I like sweet stuff.

Two Questions, if you please :)
Why do you have to take Lovenox injections? Are you on blood thinners? I had to take those shots but I'm on a blood thinner. I have to stop my Warfarin 3 or4 days before any surgery but I have to "bridge" myself over with shots & then the day of surgery I go back on my Warfarin & take shots for 3 or 4 days until my Warfarin catches up. These shots sting a little. By the way, these shots are expensive. At least they are pre loaded suringes. Good luck with your surgery. It was a good decision. You do need some sort of blender to puree your food. I still use mine for smoothies.

Myotape Body Measuring Tape
Thanks for this info. Measuring with a regular tape measure is such a pain. I have trouble measuring the top of my arm & right now I'm wearing a compression sleeve for lymphedema & I need to measure my upper arm. My upper arm is 2" bigger than before I lost 85lbs so I need something more accurate.

Best bariatric vitamins?
I was taking a multivitamin I was getting from The Vitamin Shop. It was for people with bariatric surgery. Now I can't find it. The Vitamin Shop has had this vitamin on back order for a few months. Guess I need to find a new one.

Vitamins
I was told not to use gummies. I use a chewable multi vitamin specifically for bariatric surgery patients. My blood tests have always been good.

Who is using Equal?
I was told to use Splenda or Stevia. I use Splenda and I used it long before I had surgery.

Protein?
Premier Protein (I buy them online from their website), Syntrax Nectar mixes (I buy at The Vitamin Shop). You can get them in individual packs so you can try the various flavors. I also make my own with a scoop of a protein powder.

Shopping for soft foods:)

I eat Activia for the probiotics. I was having cramps in my intestines & the Activia made a huge difference.

How long do you have to crush your pills?
I crushed my pills for about 6 months. I take a lot of pills 3 times a day. I wasn't told to crush them for 6 months. That was my choice. Most of my pills are prescription pills so I can't get them in chewable form. I would crush them & put the powder in juice & stir it up & swallow!!

Warfarin user's INR
No I don't have a mechanical valve. I have a couple of issues, AFIB is one of them. I take Atenolol & Flecinide for it & weight loss hopefully will help. I also had a blood clot after a hysterectomy. Hope I never have another one. Spent a week in the hospital hooked up to heparin & antibiotics.

Warfarin user's INR
I've been on Warfarin for about 9 years & they like me to be between 2.0 & 3.0. I have not had any issues with my INR with the weight loss. Anytime I have a medical procedure or dental work I have to come off of my Warfarin for 3 to 5 days & I have to give myself shots every 12 hours until the day of the procedure. Then I go right back on my Warfarin. With my sleeve surgery I had to give myself shots for 3 days until my Warfarin kicked in. When I go out of my target range I'm not sure what causes it but my cardiologist just adjusts my dosage for a day or two & then I come right back into my range. I am almost 2 years out so you would think my INR would be steady. It isn't. This past Friday it was 3.7. I get checked every 2 to 4 weeks so I will be checked again in 2 weeks. I've even had my INR drop to 1.4. There doesn't seem to be any reason for these fluctuations. I did this before surgery & still do it. I just watch what I eat that has Vitamin K such as dark green vegetables (brussel sprouts, broccoli, kale, etc). The joke around my house is they won't let me use knives.

Weight gain after 3 years of 13pounds...should I go back on weight loss shakes?
I have the same issue. I started "grazing" & I have stopped logging in my food. I've gained back about 20 lbs! I have put myself back on protein shakes for a few days & then will do this 1 or 2 days a week. I'm also trying to get back in the habit of logging in my food. I'm almost 2 years post op & I've worked to hard to lose weight & I'm not going to start gaining it back! Good luck with your diet. At least you know what the problem is.

Haven't been here in a loooong time! But I'm a year out and I'm having problems losing :(
I am so glad to see this posting. I have actually gained back 25 lbs over the last 10 months or so. It's my fault because I have taken up "grazing" at night. Not a good thing. I also got back into cake decorating & I love frosting. I think I finally got this back under control in the last few days. I'm starting over with the liquid diet then soft foods. I don't think I've stretched my stomach because I don't eat much each time. The grazing is my big enemy. I stopped using my Bariactric Pal & stopped logging in my food. I'm trying to get back in that habit again. I have no one to blame but myself & I need to work harder on me. I live alone so I can't blame it on anyone else. But, one day at a time. I would still do the surgery again. Good luck everyone. Onward & downward!!
