This is my little mile stone. I'm so excited since last week I'm down 17lbs. Woot woot. Feeling great. In total since pre op I'm down 36 lbs. Although I'm no way near my goal, some people have noticed a difference and im just getting started. I'm can't believe how excited I am to work out in the am now lol little weird. I remember hearing someone say, " motivation will get you started, habit will keep you going" finally getting more confidence. Thank u God

This has been a roller coaster ride so far and I know it's still going to continue. But for the first time in a long time I am finally finding myself and becoming happy. I was the girl who would always go out of my way to please everyone but now I'm finally do things to please me. I have found out who the true friends are and who are the fake ones. I've learned not to be so hard on my self and things take time. I didn't gain it in a day, I won't be losing it in a day either. It's been 3 1/2 months since my surgery and I've lost 60lbs. That's more then I have ever lost before. I weigh less now then I did in the 8th grade (btw I'm 24 now). I put 3 pictures together today and I can't stop staring at it. I seriously can't believe this is me now. I have never been happier! Can't wait to see what else is in store for the new me!!

It's got my call from the drs office .. I'm approved for May 6th ... I'm one happy girl right now

This morning, in this forum, I read that someone was 'itmf' and they weren't. A cna is not itmf just as a medical assistant is not in the nursing field. Sorry. This one pushed me over the edge I'll shut up

This was my actual response:
"As a wls patient myself, I can tell you it's not an easy lifestyle- well, maybe not the way I chose to live. There are a lot of wls patients walking around fat bc they don't change. I measure/ weigh every piece of food that goes into my body. I eat a very restricted diet I workout everyday- sometimes up to 3 hours a day... Surgery is just a tool. Don't be too crushed. It's about becoming healthy to hopefully have a healthy family one day.

Thanks for all the support, everyone. You guys are great. So we kinda talked it over and he was hesitant, but he said if my PCP is on board and if I see a therapist and he/she is on board, then he'll be okay with it. I haven't been to therapy in 3 years but I found myself a therapist and start sessions on Wednesday. I hope she sees that I need this as a tool to help me save my life. I don't want to prematurely lose my life as a result of obesity and diabetes.
My boyfriend's brother passed away 7 years ago when he went into a diabetic coma. I know he wants me to be safe and he's scared I could never wake up from the operating table but I've reassured him that this isn't a new surgery. Doctors have perfected it and specialize in this stuff.
My PCP is already on board and I'm gonna start therapy next week. I hope he sticks by my side through the process. If not, that's fine, but I'm not gonna let anyone hold me back from achieving my goals. He really is the sweetest guy and we're planning a future together but I don't want the future shortened by something that could be fixed by the sleeve. He's coming around, I think. I mention it now and he's not so defensive.
We have friends who have had the sleeve done and gastric bypasses. They all look incredible now. I guess we both have a lot to think about.

I'm really sorry you don't have his support. My husband and adult children are so supportive. I even wanted to reschedule my surgery to the fall (my surgery date is the 14th) because of some upcoming travel and they all said "NO, you do this for yourself now. Don't put it off." All it would have taken was a little bit of encouragement from them going along with my delay and I would have in a second. My point is, without my support system I would probably chicken out. Good luck and stand your ground.

Hello, I'm Kimberly. My surgery is scheduled for April 21st and I'm committing myself to becoming very successful afterwards. I would love the opportunity to meet people willing to take this journey with me. I'm a healthcare professional and I work 1st shift. I'm available evenings and weekends.

Cottage cheese
Puréed tuna salad
Refried Beans with a bit of cheese
banana mashed with 1 tbsp smooth Peanut Butter

My surgery isnt until end of April and I already havs these feelings
